About this property
Wonderful family house in historic Cornish village by Port Isaac, Padstow & Rock
Tynedale, is a warm, dog friendly, Cornish traditional family house sleeping seven people in four bedrooms with two bathrooms and a downstairs loo. It is centrally located in the friendly North Cornwall village of St Teath. It is the perfect base for explorin. Ten minutes from the glorious North Cornwall coast for walking, surfing and beaches. It is close to the charming seaside towns of Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame), Rock, the foodies’ delight of Padstow, Polzeath and Widemouth Bay for surfing, the wild scenery of Arthurian Tintagel, the South West Coast Path, Poldark country, Rosamund Pilcher trail and many other picturesque and historic sites.
The area abounds with good restaurants and friendly pubs, it is within easy reach of the Eden Project (45 minutes) and many of the other attractions, both natural and man-made that Cornwall has to offer. The bustling small town of Wadebridge is twenty minutes away, with its three supermarkets, interesting independent shops and the picturesque Camel Trail for cycling. Seaview is a local farm shop a mile away with cafe/bar and selling local farm produce and other delights, plus the best breakfasts. There are also small supermarkets in Delabole and Camelford for groceries and logs etc.
The cottage has two cosy living rooms, each with a log burner. The four comfortable bedrooms and spacious and well-equipped kitchen/ diner make it ideal for multi generation living or just chilling out. There’s high speed fibre broadband and a smart TV inside, and outside, a secluded patio with BBQ for eating and entertaining plus a charming low-mainenance front garden from which to sit and watch the world go by.
St.Teath is a thriving village year round which welcomes its visitors. With an historic 14th century church at its centre and a dog/family friendly “proper” pub which shows sport, has two full sizes pool tables and serves excellent good value meals, all within 200 yards of the front door. The quaint village cafe also serves delicious breakfasts, home cooked lunches and teas. The area is a pooch’s paradise and we welcome up to two well behaved dogs. There is a footpath running alongside the house and over styles to fields for dog walking (please be aware of livestock).

About the host
Hosted by Christine Conner

We are parents to three surf loving sons (and now two grandsons) and live in Devon, just an hour away from Tynedale. We have spent most of our summers and holidays in North Cornwall and my children grew up eating chips and sandy pasties on the beach between tides and surf. We boat and spend as much time as possible afloat and fishing off the beautiful Cornish and Devon coasts during the good weather. Tynedale belonged to my mother, it is a family home and we have relatives in the village and local area. It is lovely to hear stories of how others enjoy the house as we have and we hope you will also love it and make happy and lasting memories for all the family.
Why they chose this property
"Highly recommended but, most importantly, dog-friendly" -
“Tourist-free and peaceful village”
"The owner welcomed us with a delicious cake" - "Well-equipped and tastefully decorated" and many other complimentary reviews on both cottage and village. Tynedale has a "homey" feeling. It is comfortable and well-furnished and equipped but child- and dog-friendly. The log burners give it a cosy atmosphere. It is well-placed for activities and attractions but not overrun with other visitors.

What makes this property unique
Near enough for all the coastal fun but tucked away from the mayhem and high prices at the height of summer. A peaceful and cosy retreat at the end of the day Local village pub and plenty of living space for all the family.
