Lovely spot. Lovely cottage. Should have read instructions better as could not park my VW van on the sloping drive but had no probs leaving it in the recommended car park for the weekend Really lovely stay. Perfect for walking and enjoying wonderful local restaurants.
Stunning views, a cosy cottage with everything and more that you can wish for. Great communication with the host, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Charming and cosy base for exploring Port Isaac, hiking the South West Coast Path, and enjoying some of the best seafood in the UK, especially Outlaw’s New Road.
Brilliant stay at Fern Cottage. Such a beautiful village and couldn’t dream of staying anywhere other than Doc Martin’s surgery for our first visit here. A great surprise for my partners birthday too! Cottage was clean and comfortable, we had no issues at all, check in process smooth as well with excellent communication with all info sent beforehand! A big thank you!
We loved it; the cottage is clean and fully equipped, ample parking for our small VW. Lovely view of the village and beautiful walks. The sunrise and sunsets are spectacular. The host provided everything we needed for a wonderful 3-day stay.
We were able to stay in this beautiful cottage in the picturesque sea town of Port Issac. Cottage was clean and updated and famous of course. The drive is tough through town but worth it when you get to the property for the view. Rent a smaller car so you can make the turns on these narrow streets. Will stay again.
Beautiful cottage, but obvious downside is the connection with Doc Martin and constant tourist taking pics but i got used to that and i would have been doing the same!Only one little thing, couldnt get heating to work in chilly evenings But overall I absolutely loved my stay at the Doc's cottage
We had a wonderful, comfortable stay at Fern Cottage. As Doc Martin fans, we enjoyed seeing Port Isaac. Watching the tide go in and out was a show in itself and we got a kick out of watching people smile as they walked by the cottage, usually stopping to take photos.
We loved staying at Fern Cottage, met lots other Doc Martin fans. The cottage was so warm and comfortable, and the views were outstanding. It was great to wake up to waves and sea gulls each morning. Highly recommend the Golden Lion, great atmosphere and delicious food !
We had a wonderful time. The home was beautiful and cozy. The town was quaint and the people were wonderful to meet. We loved walking around and seen the sights Plus definitely a must stay location.
Having been a Doc Martin fan for a while it was amazing to stay here.the cottage is lovely inside with everything you need.the views are stunning from every window. Just be prepared for the fans outside taking photos constantly.
Loved staying here... The views were simply spectacular. Familiarizing ourselves with many of the places that were familiar to us made Port Wenn come to life.
The real world Port Isaac was charming as well. Loved the super local feel.
The cottage was very well appointed and made our stay the best!
Great property extremely clean and well kept. Superb location looking out over the sea and minutes into Port Issac or the beautiful cliff top walks. Highly recommend.
If your a Doc Martin fan, and even if your not, the house, setting, and proximity to Port Isaac will not disappoint. Although the interior scenes were filmed elsewhere the interior is very warm and cozy and is very relaxing.Yes, you will have fans stopping and taking pictures. Some may even try to enter so key the doors locked. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it!
The cottage is lovely and the village is amazing. .
We parked in the New Road car park and walked to the cottage which was much better than trying to negotiate driving in Port Issac.
The cottage was lovely and cosy and while there were people taking pictures outside I just kept the blinds closed and it was fine.
Overall a good stay was good but the hedge out front had grown and block our million dollar view so that was disappointing. The plumbing became a problem when the downstairs toilet overflowed and no solution was found in time to fix it. We stayed here a few years ago and while This house is cute and well situated its overpriced now for the quality it delivers .
We loved the cottage. It was extremely clean and comfortable I especially appreciated the crisp bed linen! The views are stunning and we can highly
recommend The Mote and The Old Schoolhouse restaurants in Port Isaac.
Do expect a lot of tourists taking photos outside the cottage. And don’t forget to lock the door once inside as we had a couple of tourists take photos at the front door and then try the handle and open it!
To stay in Fern Cottage was magic. We loved sitting on the landing upstairs and watching the harbour. It’s a lot more private up there. The passing tourists are annoying, especially when they come up the front steps and hang around, leaning on the dining room window.

Why they chose this property
Pet friendly but please check with owner before booking
‘Fern Cottage’ occupies an incredible, highly-coveted, elevated setting overlooking Port Isaac harbour, the village and out to sea. Every principal room takes full advantage of the truly gorgeous views across the historic and picturesque harbour. This is an exceedingly desirable and sought-after area of North Cornwall, with close proximity to such well-known villages as Rock, Trebetherick, Polzeath and also within easy reach of Boscastle and Tintagel.
What makes this property unique
Unique. location above the harbour of Port Isaac
Port Isaac is a truly wonderful ‘old’ village, which has remained unspoiled with the passage of time, with slate-roofed cottages lining the narrow lanes and alleyways which wind down the side of the steep valley to the harbour. Two noticeable features are Temple Bar – recorded as the narrowest thoroughfare in the world and known locally as ‘Squeeze Belly Alley’ and the ‘Bird-Cage’ – so named because of its unusual shape; it was used at one time as a cobblers’ shop and is now owned by the National Trust. There is a thriving village community with shops, restaurants, school and doctors’ group practice and further facilities catering for everyday needs.
