Set in the courtyard of our own home, but completely separate and private, Gadbury Cottage is cosy and very comfortable whether your choice is for a winter or summer break. It offers an ideal location to discover Oxford and the nearby attractions of Oxford City, Blenheim Palace, Shotover Park, Waterperry Gardens, Otmoor nature reserve, the Chilterns and Cotswolds Hills. Wheatley has all the facilities to meet your immediate needs - 2 foodstores, baker, coffee shop, post office, bank and choice of restaurants and pubs. The village has a long history through it's location on the main coaching route from London to Oxford - it was once descibed as the most agreeable stopping place between Beaconsfield and Woodstock. Today it's transport links are still excellent being just 2 miles from the Thornhills Park and Ride and a similar distance from the M40. There are regular bus services to Oxford and to Haddenham/Thame train station. Central London is c53 miles and Heathrow c45 miles, both have good public transport links.

Perfect location for Oxford and Thame with fabulous 400 bus service connecting both. Great meals at The Black Horse in Thame and Sunday lunch at The Kings Arms in Wheatley. Gadbury Cottage perfectly situated for both and visiting Waterperry Gardens and Althorpe House an hours drive away The cottage was clean, comfortable and met all our needs including a small private garden with loungers which we made good use of on a rest day whilst the weather was good. Hosts were friendly and gave good advice re local transport services. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone considering a stay in this area.

We truly enjoyed the location away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford. Yet, close enough to reach it quickly. Beautiul home with all the necessary amenitites. Communication with property owner was punctual and accommodating. We highly recommend this property for your next holiday.

Cosy Cottage in Wheatley.

Cottage very warm and comfortable. Perfect position for getting to Oxford and surrounding countryside. Lovely and quiet. Had everything I needed for a most enjoyable stay.

Home away from home.

This cottage was perfect for our family of 3. Located in a charming village with great bus links into Oxford, we enjoyed the local pub for dinner, Waterperry Gardens to see the snowdrops, and having everything we needed in the cottage to make our stay easy. Communication with the owner was timely and easy. We loved learning about the history of the property and the village. We have already recommended to friends and if we find ourselves needing to stay in the area again, it will be our first choice .

Super Stay in Wheatley

We loved our stay in Gadbury Cottage. A lovely location in Wheatley. Jenny our host was simply marvellous and presents a beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need. Very clean, comfortable, a quiet and safe place to stay. Not too far from Oxford - this worked well for us to stay a few times this year. We hope to return some day!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage. The location was perfect for us. Just a 30 minute bus ride into Oxford City Centre and just a short drive from Blenheim Palace. It is a very small cottage but was perfect for us. Ideal for couples or a couple with one child. There are some lovely walks right on your doorstep and we found the locals very friendly. We would definitely go back.

Nice cottage in the country

Very nice cottage in the country. Exactly what we needed. Description was perfect for what we received. Only addition needed was maybe another mirror to help get ready in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.
