"Alba Sala pool home" is situated in the charming and authentic village of Sala Comacina. The home consists of two bedrooms a bathroom, kitchen and living room overlooking its own garden with fantastic views of the lake and mountains. Only 3 minutes by car down to the lake, restaurants, bars and shops. The living room opens onto the private patio and garden where you can enjoy beautiful views overlooking the lake. The apartment is situated in an a quiet elevated position that catches the sun for most of the day and being on a no through road there is little passing traffic. In the village (500 metres away) you will find restaurants, mini market, butcher, bakery, bank and superb wine bar and other local amenities .The position of this apartment is ideal for those who seek tranquillity and also for those who seek fun and excitement. The only island on Lake Como (visible from the apartment garden) is a very short boat ride from Sala Comacina’s beautiful Piazza. The town of Lenno is a 5 minute drive away where there is a larger supermarket, numerous lakeside restaurants, a Lido with a sandy beach / beach-bar and the unforgettable Villa Balbianello.
Ferries reaching many towns up and down Lake Como depart from Lenno and Argegno (both 5 minutes away either side of the village) in addition to some limited
departures from the village itself and also from the island. From Sala Comacina you can follow the lovely lakeside walk (Greenway del Lago) in addition to accessing many walks from other lakeside villages. In the hills behind the apartment there are wonderful alpine walks where you can buy freshly made cheeses from the ‘Alpe’ farmers. This locality will allow you spectacular elevated views of Lake Como and Lake Lugano.

Good location, bad service, noisy

We arrived around 7pm, office was closed, directions not clear. We were on the phone with the office stuff member, who, after long search led us to a wrong apt., that was occupied. After we finally settled we tried to find a place to eat, but everything was closed. Next morning at 8 am an extremely loud noise of gas grass cutters and gasoline fumes woke us up. In the small swimming pool 4 kids screamed, splashed, used water toys and were jumping in the water, which was not permitted by the apartment rules.

Es war unser 3 Mal, 14 Tage am Comer See und leider hielt die Wohnung nicht was sie versprach. Der Check In durch die Gemma Hausverwaltung hat gut geklappt, aber beim Eintreffen hat uns schon die völlig vertrocknete/ abgestorbene Hecke erschrocken, welche die Aussicht auf den See verschlechtert hat. In der Wohnung fehlt Liebe zum Wohlfühlen, die Couch war sehr schmutzig, der Abfluss der Dusche total verstopft, der Gartentisch total verostet, wurde bereits mit Klebeband behandelt usw. Das Kinderzimmer ist ohne Tageslicht, da das Fenster auf Richtung Wand zeigt. Gestört hat uns leider die gesamten 2 Wochen die Geräuschkulisse der nebenanliegenden Baustelle Mo-Fr, Krangeräusche ab 07:30 Uhr. Die Wohnung liegt in einer Anlage mit Eigentumswohnungen, viele Italiener, sowie auch direkt über unserer Wohnung. Hier hat eine ältere Dame extrem lautes Fernsehen ganztägig gehört, Musik und Spielshows, aber eigentlich war es sogar noch störender als die italienischen Bewohner sich von einem Balkon zum anderen laut unterhalten haben. Da der Balkon direkt über dem Schlafzimmer liegt und sich dort teilweise bis 2Uhr Nachts laut unterhalten/ gestritten wurde konnten wir nicht mit offenem Fenster schlafen. Eine Klimaanlage gibt es nicht in der Wohnung. Ohne Vorankündigung durch die Hausverwaltung fanden ab 7Uhr früh einmal Gartenarbeiten auf unserer Terrasse statt mit so lauten Geräten, dass wir unser eigenes Wort nicht verstanden haben. Ruhe gab es da leider wenig. Sehr schade ist, dass es nur einen kleinen Sonnenschirm gab, keine Markise, so dass man bis ca 16 Uhr der direkten Sonne ausgesetzt ist. Auch der Terrassenbereich neben dem Eingang der Wohnung liegt in der Sonne. Schön ist die Lage der Wohnung, direkt am Greenway del Lago, welcher bis Colonno über Sala Comacina und Lenno bis nach Griante führt, wenn man mag. Nach Como eine halbe Stunde mit dem Auto. Nach Mailand 1.5 h. Der Pool liegt ca.70 Stufen unter der Terrasse, war allerdings immer gut besucht, nicht sehr groß und sehr verchlort, die Augen haben gebrannt unter Wasser. Es gibt keine Liegestühle am Pool! Alles in allem leider kein gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis. Die Wohnung war im Vergleich zu den zwei anderen Urlauben, mit Abstand die Teuerste und dabei leider die mit der schlechtesten Erholung für uns.

Het appartement was op zich prima, net meubilair, prima uitgerust. Badkamer wat gedateerd. Het was alleen erg vervelend dat het erg warm was (meer dan dertig graden) en tot de middag is er buiten geen enkele plek met schaduw. Er was geen zonneluifel of parasol beschikbaar. Buiten zitten was dan ook niet te doen, dus hebben we verschillende dagen binnen ontbeten met de deuren dicht en zijn we het appartement ontvlucht. Dit is dus niet helemaal wat je je erbij voorstelt als je op zomervakantie gaat.... Buiten dat zaten er erg veel Italianen in het complex. Er is een zwembadje, maar in de middag moet je hier tot 16.00 stil zijn en buiten dat mogen er geen drijvende objecten, balletjes, duikbrillen etc. gebruikt worden. Toen er een spatje water door onze kinderen op een Italiaanse dame terecht kwam, werd bijzonder demonstratief duidelijk gemaakt dat dit schandalig was. We vonden de huur van het appartement geenszins in verhouding met hetgeen je er voor kreeg.

Well equipped and positioned property. Very easy to get both north and south to Como, Lenno, Mennagio and then the boat over to Bellagio etc. Going to miss the amazing view opening the doors every morning!

Superbe vue

Après les démarches de réservation qui peuvent inquiéter (contacts avec plusieurs personnes au royaume uni et demande de paiement par virement), nous sommes arrivés dans cette résidence qui offre une superbe vue sur le lac de Côme. L'appartement est propre et très bien équipé (à signaler qu'il manque un Micro onde qui peut être très utile avec des enfants). La piscine est partagée avec les autres locataires de la résidence mais peu nombreux en semaine. La résidence est accessible par une route étroite qui ne permet de ne laisser passée qu'une seule voiture. Pour les courses il faut aller jusqu'à lenno (où se trouve également l'agence immobilière). Nous avons été ravis de cette location, l'agence est sérieuse et de bons conseils nous ont été donnés. À recommander sans hésitation !

A Lake Como Delight!

This apartment was just perfect for our visit to the Lake Como area! The apartment was clean, bright, breezy, comfortable, well-equipped, and quiet. The view from the patio was beautiful night and day and the pool was refreshing. The location up on the hillside provided a welcome retreat from the busy area below and yet excellent proximity to restaurants and beautiful walks. Thanks to Barrie for all the attention online and to Gemma on site!

Lovely setting in hillside apartment

Apartment part of a complex of flats sharing the pool - which is circa 75 steps down from the apartment. Not for the infirm or elderly as also circa 109 steps down to the apartment. Very well appointed with great views over the lake - ferry spotting/sea plane spotting . Second bedroom has no view as opens into closed equipment corridor - bit disappointing. Walk up to apartment from local village is a bit of a trek up steep roads or steps and realistically need car especially in very hot weather. Car access is also tricky - narrow lanes and with several blind spots on two way steep hills. Lenno some 10 minutes away in car is excellent - Great Lake side location and good choice of restaurants - access to the ferries for the lake and able to hire motor boats - fully recommended .
