Penn Cottage, Buckley Street.

Penn Cottage is a charming, 19th Century former fisherman’s cottage in a quiet street in the heart of Salcombe, with fabulous views of the estuary from the main bedroom. It sleeps up to 4 people in two double bedrooms (the second bedroom also has bunk beds) - ideal for a family or two couples. Open plan living and kitchen/dining area; ensuite shower room and separate family bathroom. The cottage has its own courtyard garden with barbecue, table and chairs, and direct access to Victoria Quay.

One well trained dog welcome (£25 supplement per dog per stay).

Gorgeous property, nicely decorated and had a homely feel. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Location was fantastic and parking arrangements are great. I would highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful Short Break in Salcombe

Penn Cottage is a charming traditional stone cottage in heart of Salcombe. It’s well equipped with everything you need and has lovely estuary views. We really enjoyed being back in Salcombe and would throughly recommend this property. Excellent host communication and very clear arrival & property information.

Had a lovely stay at Penn Cottage , Philip the owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was everything we wanted , great communication and directions for the car parking which was also problem free . Lovely and clean , with a view from the bedroom balcony we will remember forever .

November weekend in Salcombe

Penn Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It is finished to a high standard, makes great use of the available space and has a delightful seaside/beach hut feel about it. It is located very near the town centre. We will visit again!

Superb cottage in centre of Salcombe

Immaculate cottage with wonderful views from top balcony over the water. Very comfortable with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Outside seating area also good for us and our dog. 2 minutes from Fore Street. Good to be able to use the parking facility 7 mins away.Would love to teturn.

How lucky were we booking beautiful Penn Cottage for the week, we could not have made a better choice. It was a pleasure communicating with Philip and Sarah : from their courteous and professional administration of the booking, for all the informative literature and great local recommendations provided and for the added bonus of the car parking permit. We really appreciated the comfort, the lovely furnishings, luxurious towels and beautiful bedding and we could have spent all week just taking in 'the view'! Penn Cottage - Superb :)

We stayed at Penn Cottage in September for 4 nights, it was fabulous. The cottage is 5 Star, as the owners have thought of everything even to the small touches such as a welcome pack with your basic items, washing capsules, dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid etc.. The view from the main bedroom is amazing with lovely walk out balcony with chairs and tables. Waking up in the morning to the beautiful views of Salcombe estuary. The cottage has everything you can think off. It is just like home. Penn Cottage is situated in the centre of Salcombe, about 2 minutes walk down steps to the local amenities. Lovely bakery and fabulous restaurants. We travelled to Penn Cottage with our 1 1/2 year old daughter. There is lots of room for a travel cot. The cottage can accommodate 6 people comfortably. I will miss my breakfasts sitting on the balcony from the living room. Will definitely return, I cant say enough about the Penn Cottage, if your lucky enough to visit you will definitely not be disappointed.

Just perfect

What can I say except perfect. From the initial communication through to great contact as our booking approached we knew this was going to be good. On entering the property and finding a welcome card & bottle of wine we quickly found a charming and well equipped rental. Based across 3 floors the bedrooms are at the top with a balcony & table and chairs off the main bedroom with stunning views across the estuary. The mid level also has a balcony and this is the well equipped kitchen a sitting area. Downstairs is the main bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer and off here is a courtyard with patio chairs etc. This is also a great safe space for storing wetsuits and paddle boards etc. The house has plenty of equipment and a full kitchen etc so we didn’t miss anything loads of information also. Perfectly located for Island St and the centre of Salcombe without being bothered by any noise (except seagulls but that’s just Salcombe!!) We will definitely book again and would highly recommend Thanks Philip & Sarah for a lovely stay.

Lovely Property in a wonderful location - would definitely revisit

Charming and beautiful property. Very well stocked and all needs have been catered for. Philip had even organised the car parking permits for us in advance of our arrival and this was much appreciated. He was very helpful in answering all questions prior to arrival. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking meals in and plenty of storage with the extra fridge being a bonus. The ensuite bathroom is lovely with a very good shower - lovely to have the view over the bay whilst washing! The downstairs bathroom is very cosy, comfortable shower and deep bath for soaking tired feet and there is always hot water. The cottage is in a perfect location just a few minutes stroll from all the shops and restaurants. The bakery is a minute from the cottage and fresh bakery goods for breakfast every day were a treat! The cottage was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. Wonderful view to wake up to from the main bedroom everyday. Salcombe is a great location for coastal activities - walking, trekking, sailing etc and the town has everything you could need to support this. Fantastic walks around Bolt Head and Garra Rock highly recommended. Also good for day trips to places such as Dartmoor, Dartmouth and the Eden Project. Particularly good meals to be had in all the local eateries - we did not have a bad meal whilst we were there. 5 star cottage and location. We will definitely be back!

The best view

Waking up every morning a seeing that view over the harbour over to east portlemouth is the best thing about the property. It’s a comfortable little place with enough room for a family of four or even five. Also having a parking space on Coronation Road is handy and secure.

Perfect little bolthole

We absolutely love staying at pretty Penn Cottage. The owners have created a picture perfect holiday home right in the heart of Salcombe. Moments away from Fore Street where you’ll find fabulous places to eat and shops to browse. The views from the bedroom balcony are heavenly and we loved to sit enjoying our morning coffee taking in the sights and sounds from the estuary. The cottage is beautifully finished and has everything you need for a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

Lovely Cottage in a perfect location

Warm Cottage in a magic place!

Very good cottage and plenty space available for 5/6. The place makes you feeling that nothing is missing as every details has been well looked after. Just a minute walk to all the shops needed and restaurants is another great addition.

When we found Penn Cottage it was love at first sight. It is a delightful cottage in a central quiet location. We have furnished it to a high standard to make a welcoming home from home.

Salcombe is a special place, in and out of season. It is big enough to offer a lot of activities and variety shops, pubs and restaurants, yet small enough to be friendly. The estuary is a fabulous 'play area' for adults and children alike - with beaches, boating, sailing, walking, day trips and more.
