We had a lovely week here:
Pros: very clean, good communication with host, very well equipped. Estate facilities were excellent with a very warm outdoor pool, lots of sun loungers, great indoor pool with a system of private booking. Used the gym and the tennis court.
Cons: advertised as dog secure but our Yorkie was easily able to get out. Owner very understanding of our need to Jerry rig a fence!
Not easy to walk from the estate out as roads are narrow and lots of traffic.
3rd bedroom beds are very short and not acceptable for my teenage sons!
Our stay at the lodge colmer Estate *near modbury*
The estate and lodge were absolutely fantastic, immaculately clean, wonderful amenities on site the whole family loved the 2 pools the kids went swimming everday inside and outside the park area and play house is great for little ones ,lovely walks on the estate and the beaches within 20/25 minutes drive of the estate were fantastic, the estate is set In beautiful countryside but so near to days and trips out ,we went on the Dartmouth steam railway and river cruise went to goodrington sands and Quay West waterpark both only 30 minutes drive from the estate, Blackpool beach is a must day out beautiful clear blue water great cafe ,surf shop ,immaculate toilets and showers ,I would highly recommend colmer estate to anybody ,it's definitely a 5 star holiday ,we had one of the best holidays we have ever been on and will definitely be booking again
We really liked the cottage. It was very clean and well presented. Also the location was very good for going in all directions, close enough to a38 for easy acces east and west but far enough south of it for access to beaches etc
We will definitely return if circumstances allow
The lodge is a lovely cosy place to stay and absolutely ideal for a family. We really valued the beautiful grounds that the lodge is set in and the indoor swimming pool that is just a few seconds walk away. The lodge is a great base for exploring both the nearby coast and Dartmoor. I’d thoroughly recommend a holiday here.
The Lodge is a lovely, detached cottage on the beautiful Colmer Estate, within easy reach of Devon beaches, Dartmoor walks, Plymouth and the Eden Project. The children loved the heated outdoor pool and we would definitely stay there again as it would be even better if the UK's current Covid restrictions were totally lifted.

Cosy cottage, with shared pool in a lovely setting
We had a lovely week in the cottage and the owner, Robert was great at liaising with us. The cottage is located on a quiet private woodland estate and shares a communal pool. The pool is not the largest but was enough for 2 families to play at a time - albeit we only had to do this twice due to good timings! There is a pub and small shop within walking distance, however we didn't use the pub as we were out and about during the day. The tennis court is a lovely touch and we managed to squeeze in a quick game. There is also a cute hut with table football a stones throw from the house which my husband a son used a couple of times. We had a little walk in the grounds - take your wellies as it can be soggy! It's a great location to base yourself to visit Dartmouth, Dartmoor, Salcombe, Plymouth, and all the various beaches in the area. We had a few rainy days but there was lots to do - the sea life centre in Plymouth was fantastic, I've been to a few but this is by far the best! The fish and chips at Rockfish were delicious and a little boat can take you from near there across the water if you fancy a walk around the harbour. Beware of traffic in Plymouth! We hired a boat at Whitestrand in Salcombe which was the highlight of the trip. Lots of nice places to eat in the area including The Ship Inn at Ughborough. The beaches all around our fantastic - take care with the narrow lanes!

Why they chose this property
We've stayed in the Lodge a couple times over the years and has some fantastic holidays - then it came on the market so we snapped it up !
It's so close to all our favourite places - Bigbury Beach, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Dartmoor.
What makes this property unique
For us, the most important thing is that the kids love it too - the heated outdoor and indoor pools, tennis court, loads of running around and exploring space. At to top it all the local pub and shop are only a 10 mins stroll away.
