Private Luxury Retreat... Perched Atop A Bluff, Incredible Lake And Village View

A perfect place for one or two couples, $275 per room per night. Spend a night, a weekend or a week at one of the most unique properties in all of the Finger Lakes. Clifftop is a 20 acre paradise, with unforgettable Sunset, Seneca Lake, and village views. Perched atop a bluff and high above the lake, enjoy your very own private compound, only 1 mile from the center of Watkins Glen, at the gateway to the east Seneca Lake wine trail. Hike along thousands of feet of clifftop trails, then descend into a magnificent gorge with several waterfalls, flanked by hemlock, periwinkle, and stone formations.

Take an hour or a day; relax within this private natural paradise. Hike back up to the many cliff top nature trails and take in the bee balm, shaded canopy, and daily visits by the bald eagles and osprey that inhabit our area. Or "stay put." Kick back on the deck or lawn directly in front of your room. Sun bathe, nap, or simply enjoy the sailboats, western bluffs, and village below. The Rookery, our upper level hemlock lodge, has 2 king bedrooms(one is a suite) each with deluxe bath, including 6' soaker tub and shower. The full kitchen and entry room provide plenty of elbow room, and 3 patio doors lead to the 50' x 9' deck, located 200' above the lake, below. The large kitchen has quartz counters, all new appliances, lovely maple wood floors. Large glass fireplace. A short distance from your back door is a beautiful view area with your own under the stars fire pit.

What more can I say about this house or these hosts? This is our EIGHTH time staying here. Three of those were for more than a week. That should tell you pretty much everything. Wonderful home. Wonderful view. Even more wonderful people.

The house is located on a bluff above Seneca Lake with an outstanding view. It had all the comforts of home. Cindy was a great host, helping with winery and restaurant recommendations. We will definitely come back next time we are in the FLX region.

Perfect Cliffside Retreat

This property was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We selected this property for three main reasons: separate bathrooms as we were traveling with another couple, proximity to Watkins Glen State Park and the balcony views. Everything was perfect during our stay. Cindy, the owner, was very welcoming when we arrived and even provided us with a bottle of local wine, dinner recommendations and passes to local wineries. The property itself was clean and well equipped with everything that one would need for the weekend. The views from the balcony were great and super relaxing to watch the sunset. I would definitely be back again!

Wonderful Host

Cindy was amazing, everything was just as listed, the two bedroom home was perfect, views are great, home is open and large, furniture and beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some! Cindy was always available to assist with anything we needed or to provide a meal recommendation. This property is so convenient with most things from Corning to Ithaca only a 30 minute drive away. We will definitely stay here again if we return to the area! Thank you Cindy!!

Watkins Glen Cottage

This is my best ever experience. The owners were SUPER nice. The property was clean and exactly as advertised. The owners assisted with my mom who is older and has some mobility challenges. The cottage was well stocked - there were ample towels and little things we forgot, like ziploc bags. I highly recommend. Jim from Texas

Third Time's the Charm

This was the third time we stayed in Cindy & Ed's lovely home in the past four years, and it certainly won't be the last. It feels like home away from home: a clean, cozy, comfortable place to relax. The property is beautiful, the views of Seneca Lake are gorgeous, and the location is convenient to everything. Cindy & Ed are kind, gracious hosts, always thoughtful and helpful in any way you need, and always looking to find ways to make your stay even better. I can't recommend them, or the home, highly enough.

Amazing Lake Views

View of the lake is amazing. However, the main road runs down the hill from the unit, so there will be traffic noise all the time. The unpaved driveway to the unit could be challenging for some vehicles. The unit is well appointed, well stocked kitchen, nice bathrooms and a comfortable bed. The couches were uncomfortable and could be updated. The owners live below the unit. Cindy and Ed were very friendly and even left some tasty local craft beer in celebration of our anniversary! We loved the area and will be back!

Perfect stay! -- Beautiful home, we wanted to move in!

Cindy was excellent to work with. She helped coordinate our stay through phone calls and email. Upon arrival we were shown around the property by Cindy and Ed and could not believe how beautiful the home was! It was more than described, expertly kept, everything you could ask for in a rental property and more! The location is perfect for access to the wineries, town of Watkins Glen, and the Gorge trail. We brought friends up for the weekend who had never experienced Seneca Lake, and this property helped make the experience truly memorable. Our stay was over Memorial Day weekend, so it was perfect to sit outside on the deck and enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake! If we could have stayed for a week we would have loved to! Kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were modern and in perfect condition. I look forward to the opportunity to stay here again!!!

Cindy is a really wonderful host and was so helpful. Even before we arrived she contacted me to make sure I could find the property. She even gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy a long with many excellent restaurant and winery recommendations. The home itself is very cozy with a beautiful view of the lake. Fireplace is warm. Kitchen is large with all the cookware needed. Walmart is 5 minutes away for any supplies. Watkins Glen hike was made so much better by staying here. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage, clean with amazing lake view. Cindy, the host was awesome! She was warm and welcoming, made us feel at home immediately. Great location: only 5 minutes away to several restaurants, situated at the beginning of the “wine trail”, 15 minutes to Watkins Glen State Park, 30 minutes to the Corning Museum. We were traveling with friends for a long weekend in wine country. The house is near Watkins Glen and many wineries, breweries, and restaurants. The house was clean and beautiful. Both bedrooms had king beds and en suites. Every morning and evening we sat on the deck overlooking Seneca Lake. Cindy, our host, was gracious and accommodating. Would highly recommend!

Relax & Enjoy the View

This Clifftop, beautiful, clean home with a beautiful view, with sunsets, sits on a clifftop overlooking Lake Senaca. The home is a perfect location to easily drive to the numerous wineries around the lake as well as downtown Watkins Glen. Anything you may want or need at this home is already provided. Hands on owners Cindy & Ed are more than willing to help you in any way. They even surprised us with a nice welcome gift. I can honestly say we were not disappointed in any way. We would definitely not hesitate to come back.

A Wonderful Weekend

Cindy & Ed are the nicest hosts you could hope to run into. It's rare to find people so friendly and generous. The recommendations were on point and we really enjoyed the area. Now to the important part - the house! Cindy and Ed made sure the house had everything you could possibly need. The space was even larger than I imagined from the pics. Very open with two large bedrooms with great views. The deck is a highlight, for sure. We saw an assortment of wildlife from the house, including a fawn, bunnies, hummingbirds, a chipmunk & two woodchucks. As city folk it was very impressive. The beds were also extremely comfy (and large!). Everything was fantastic and we highly recommend!

Beautiful Property. Incredible hosts.

It's obvious that these hosts used to work in hospitality. The house is so well designed and furnished, including the kitchen for those who actually want to cook, which I did. Luxury baths, incredible view, birds, waterfalls and walking paths, gas fireplace. Very close to Watkins Glen and Seneca wine trail. There is some noise from cars going by below, but I'm super sensitive to those things and will still be going back because everything else is so amazing! - including the hosts themselves who gave me lots of privacy while being very accessible and friendly too.
