Montour Falls trip

It was my first time visiting Montour Falls, Watkins Glen and the surrounding area's with my family. I was very happy upon our arrival to our home away from home. It was a charming home that had an old comforting feeling. All of the amenities were provided. We experienced great communication and hospitality from the hosts. Our family had a wonderful stay in Lori‘s home near Watkins Glen International where our son was racing. The home was spotless clean, decorated with antiques and large couches to relax, comfortable beds and a complete kitchen where we could cook dinners. Such a warm and cozy home! The house rules/directions are written very clearly & much appreciated. Lori and I had very open communication. We could tell her home has had a lot of love and care put into it. Our family is looking forward to returning to Lori’s lovely home again soon!

Spacious Home

We loved our stay here in this spacious home! There were 12 of us including a 16 month old and everyone had a place to sleep and plenty of room to spread out! There was even a crib for my little one to sleep and we didn’t have to set up our pack n play. Having three bathrooms was great and we loved the large tv room where we could all hang out together. The house was very clean, cozy and close to so many things. We enjoyed going to Watkins Glen a few minutes away, Ithaca falls, bike riding in Ithaca and the go karts, mini golf and ice cream just up the road from the house. If you’re planning a trip to Watkins Glen this is the place to stay!

Beautiful home with plenty of space and great location!

This home is set up perfect for easy check in and check out with everything you need for a short stay or a longer visit of one week or more. It is charming and very clean. It has many, many updated amenities and each bedroom is made comfortable with individual AC units or fans or both. The bathrooms are really well renovated and clean. The kitchen and dining space were excellent for our large family. It is only about a 2 minute walk from a huge waterfall in Montour Falls. It is only about a 5 minute drive to Watkins Glen. We will definitely stay here again and we will stay for a longer visit next time. This was our first trip to this area and we loved it.

This rental feels like a “home.” The living area downstairs is very comfortable and accommodating for larger groups. The kitchen is equipped with anything you may need and more as is the TV room. This location is perfect for winery tours, restaurants, scenic walks, and waterfalls especially! From the beginning, Lori was very helpful in answering questions and making us comfortable in our home. We all agreed, this would be the place where we would book again.

Came for the wine, stayed for the Museums

My wife and I can't be any more pleased with our decision to rent this house. Its clearly an older house, but a lot of work, love, and effort was put in to it. The first feature my wife talks about when we talk about our trip, is the Soap and Shampoo dispenser in the shower. I don't get it, but she thought it was the coolest thing. I almost feel bad, the house had so many rooms and we used two of them (Master Bedroom, TV Room). The TV Room had this big comfortable leather couch, a bigscreen TV with a Soundbar, which was nice to watch TV and relax after a busy day. The master bedroom was comfortable, though (Like everywhere else i go) the pillows were only okay. I was worried there would be too much light in the mornings (I am a pitch black type person to sleep) but it didn't was bad enough to wake me up. The attached master bathroom was great; with Laundry as well. That was wonderful. Wish we could do that at our own home! We were visiting in October, and the weather surprised us with getting chilly. That wasn't a problem, as it seemed the two rooms we spent all our time in had Zone Heating. The heaters worked very quickly, so we just left the rooms at 60 degrees when we weren't present, and bumped them up when we used the room, and it heated up very quickly. Parts of the house we didn't really use: Two MORE bathrooms, one with a shower. Perfect because you also have FOUR more bedrooms. And a baby "Room" with a crib! I wish we had actually brought friends, we felt like we under-used the house. There was also a Kitchen, Dining Room, and a grill which was nice, and while we intended to actually do our own cooking for dinner, we never ended up doing that. (Full disclosure, lots of great Breakfast/Lunch places within a short drive, but dinner places are slim pickings. I could go on forever with reviews of places, but this is for the rental, not my explorations.) The town: I really, really liked Montour Falls. I felt like I was in a movie. The kind where a jaded newly divorced Stock Broker goes back to his small home town, and finds the Girlfriend he dated in Middle School is now raising her two brothers since her parents died in a horrible accident. He learns to love again, she learns to have fun again, and the movie ends with a wedding. Walkable Places: Cool Waterfall, (Breve) North (Real Fancy) Coffee Shop, Paradiso Village Bakery (Breakfast).

We booked the house last minute, and felt blessed to have our vocation here. The house is newly renovated and equipped with very high quality furniture. The beds in all the rooms are very comfortable and the sleeping ware is brand new. The house is very clean and the house keeper really thought through what we need. We enjoyed the stay very much.
