North Conway Ski Trip

My partner and I stayed at Doug and Andrea's lovely guest house with our dog. Doug greeted us upon arrival to give us the layout. The house is beautiful and was conveniently located to downtown North Conway. The property itself was clean and quiet and was perfect for a getaway to the mountains. We cannot recommend this property enough and will definitely be back for another trip!

North Conway Gem that is Truly Dog Friendly

Charming place to stay within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants that I will be returning to! Good size property for your dog for the quick pees in between walks (please pick-up after). The living space revolves around the fireplace which is perfect for winter stays. Kitchen is small but has everything you need and then some and lots of storage for those things you did not know you needed until you do. Upstairs bedrooms were spacious and comfy. Only slept in the king room which had a nice mattress and beddings. Bathroom was perfectly fine, there were only 2 of us but 4 could also make due if they are patient and do not mind sharing. The hosts are the best! The kindest people and also thoughtful and just good. There was a big power outage, so the owner made sure the fire was started and flashlights and candles in the room for us. Had we been at an Inn we would have arrived to a cold, dark room, but instead we got cozy, warm firelit! If you like cozy, quant, working fireplace and truly dog friendly with the bonus of being bale to walk downtown, this is a fantastic option!

Cozy home away from home

We had a great time. The rooms were very comfortable. Doug was an excellent host. The cottage was well stocked, the fire place was easy to use and produced a lot of heat. The kitchen pantry had a vast array of supplies. After a quick stop at hannafords we were able to make our own breakfast and dinner! Can’t wait for our next trip. We will definitely come back!!

Amazing host and property

Not once but twice I goofed up on reservation dates! Doug fixed things on his end with no trouble at all. He spent lots of time visiting with us and telling us about the area. The house was unlike any Vrbo property we’ve stayed at- literally like somebody lived there and was just gone- plenty of firewood for the iron stove (my favorite thing), a well-stocked pantry and bathroom, comfy bed and linens.

Quiet & near downtown

The property was as described. Very comfortable, all the kitchen items we needed. Our kitty loved sleeping on her fleece on the couch. Wished we had booked to stay longer. Hopefully will be back in spring. Only complaint was the lighting, needs stronger wattage. Light over kitchen sink was very bright but living room, hallways & bedrooms dark because of all the trees on property. Would highly recommend!

Welcome to the UpCountry Guest House. My brothers and I spent every weekend and vacation at the Upcountry home were we learned to love the outdoors. Our children have followed in our footsteps loving the area and becoming incredible winter athletes. We all love downhill, cross country skiing and ice skating as our favorite winter sports. Their have been 4 generation of skiers in our family who learned at Cranmore Mountain. My brother Doug or I will be your host.

Why they chose this property

When Cranmore open in 1936, my grandfather and father where there for the opening day, along with all the other mountains in the area.

The guest house has an open concept first floor that includes an updated kitchen, a cozy entertaining area centered around the fireplace and a dining area with beautiful views of the of the property and the Moat Mts.
