GENERAL:

This beautifully designed, bright, quiet and comfortable apartment is located in the most cosmopolitan and vibrant quarters of Amsterdam, the Pijp. Excellent pubs, bars & restaurants, greatest city museums (van Gogh, Rijks-, Stedelijk-), the famous Albert Cuyp market and all types of shops are at walking distance!
It will suit couples of all ages and solo travelers for business or exploring Amsterdam in the most charming way.

AREA:

Just a short tram ride south of Central Station takes you into one of the most cosmopolitan and vibrant districts of Amsterdam. Welcome to the pipe. Formerly a working class quarter built to ease the overpopulated Jordaan in the 19th century and to house laborers, the Pipe if we know Amsterdam today it is without a doubt a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. Thanks to previous settlers, the Pipe continues to breathe life as the lively bohemian district known as the Latin Quarter. This vibrant alternative at the walking distance from Amsterdam is appealing to many. The young, old, students, artists, and families have all chosen to make the Pijp their home.

Public transport: Schiphol Airport via Amsterdam Central Station (CS) to our house (Google):
- Intercity Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station: 15 min.
- walking from CS towards Tram line 16/24: 4 min.
- Tram 16/24 at CS to Stadhouderskade / Ferdinant Bolstreet: 12 min.
- walking from Tram 16/24 towards our house: 3 min.

By car:
- from the highway up to our house: 10 - 15 minutes
- use your route planner (Google Maps ..)
- tip: enter the quarter via Stadhouderskade
- parking: around the house is a expensive exercise for a longer period, we advise parking: P + R Olympic Stadium (by tram line 16 or 24 from our apartment, 10 min), parking fee 1 euro / 24hours with a valid tram- Ticket from city center, i. C. Our house. Maximum parking time in one row: 4 x 24 hrs.

Its walking distance to everything but tucked away so at night you have peace and tranquility in the garden. The hosts are great even with late flights stayed to let me in nothing but good things to say about all of my stay

We enjoyed staying here for a week. Nice quiet street, pretty garden, short walk to many great museums and restaurants. Great place and location.

This flat is in the perfect location for touring Amsterdam. Near museums, canals and public transportation. It’s close to the action but the flat itself is in a quiet neighborhood for a good night sleep. The hosts were easy to contact and were helpful with instructions. Recommend highly.

We had a wonderful three week stay. The apartment is ideally located in De Pijp with plenty of small restaurants plus food stores to make this a perfect place for those who want to get a real feel for the city. José and Beke made us feel most welcomeand added many small touches that made theirapartment most comfortable. The back garden would be a real plus for summer visitors. Perfect holiday home!

This apartment was an absolutely perfect home base for us! Cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped, and just a two-minute walk to the Albert Cuyp street market AND three supermarkets! Also very close to the museum district and just a short walk away from the #24 tram that cuts right through the center of the city. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Jose and Beke were kind and gracious hosts, and we would love to come back and stay again sometime! We have been home for two days now, and I miss the place already!

A cozy place to stay in Amsterdam

We stayed at this property for 8 nights as we toured Amsterdam and made several day trips outside the City. It's location is excellent. It is on a quiet street in the Pijp neighborhood, very close to the excellent Albert Cuyp market and near public transportation. The apartment is perfect for two people. It has all the conveniences you would want and enough space so that you could spend significant time inside if you are tired of being a tourist or the weather is bad. I highly recommend it.

Excellent Stay!

Welcoming host. Great location. Apartment has all amenities including washer/dryer and sound system to hook to your phone. For additional ambiance there are plenty of mood/spot lights on dimmers, which we really appreciated. Note: the sleeping loft may be tricky to get into for elderly people, althoug we, in our 70’s did fine. Just something to be aware of. In the summer the garden would be nice!

This wonderful apartment was in walking distance to everything. If you wanted a tram, it was a short walk. There was everything you would need in the kitchen. We had rainy cool weather, but the garden would have been wonderful to sit in with a glass of wine. Quiet neighborhood. Couldn't ask for more!

Great Location

Jose and Beke's apartment couldn't be better! It's located in the De Pijp neighborhood - close to three tram lines, grocery stores and neat restaurants. The street is quiet and yet it was wonderful to be greeted with a "goedemorgen" by a passerby. Be sure to visit the Albert Cuyp Market nearby for kibbeling, herring and poffertjies! Charming apartment in De Pijp

Charming, quaint, apartment in De Pijp, Amsterdam. Here you are a walk of just minutes from the Albert Culp market, countless bistros, pubs, cafés, coffee shops and restaurants a 20 minute walk from Anne Frank’s house and a 30 minute walk downtown. The Heineken experience is a block away. For a city apartment; I must say that I’ve never slept anywhere that is so quiet at night. I wasn’t expecting that. The hosts were beyond accommodating, they were there to greet us; they checked in through the week to ensure we could find/understand everything. Lovely experience

Beyond our Expectations!

José and Beke could not have been more cordial and welcoming in their communications. Then, arriving at the apartment, we were completely enchanted. We cooked all of our breakfasts and a number of dinners in the well equipped kitchen. There was a great big closet with plenty of hangers, and a terrific washer and dryer where we did a couple of loads of laundry. The living room was very comfortable, and so was the cozy sleeping nook. The back garden was a wonderful place to sit at the end of a busy day and take in the beautiful roses that were in full bloom. The very best part of the apartment was the absolutely perfect location. We could walk to the Rijksmuseum and the Concertgebouw, shop in the outdoor market on the Albert Cuypstraat, and easily access transportation to anywhere in the city. And we were a few minutes walk from lovely restaurants and shops.

Perfect flat in great location

We so enjoyed our stay in this lovely flat. It is on a quiet street in a vibrant neighborhood within walking distance of many of the sights, and close to all forms of public transit. There are many restaurants and shops nearby and two grocery stores on either end of the block. The flat was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had every amenity one could need. Jose and Beke were very attentive hosts and provided us with a lovely welcome to Amsterdam. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Great Apartment in a Great Area!

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was comfortable, extremely clean, and stocked with everything we needed. Our hosts, Jose & Beke, were so hospitable! In addition to being very responsive to all of our questions, they made us feel right at home with flowers and a great bottle of wine. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics and the bathroom, which had lots of towels and toiletries, was spotless. The washer and dryer came with its own guide book and laundry soap was provided. There are blackout shades in the sleeping area and the mattress is very comfortable. It's a little funky getting in and out of bed, but we figured it out! Even better, this apartment is located in De Pijp, an area that is very vibrant, but the apartment is on a quiet street and when you are inside, you don't hear any city noise. The garden/sitting area in the back is tranquil. There were three grocery stores within a block, many restaurants and easy access to transportation, museums, and parks. Best of all, it's just steps from the Albert Cuyp Market, where you can get everything and anything you might ever want. I'm almost sorry to leave such a rave review, because it would suit us better if this place remained a secret! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dankuwel Jose & Beke!

Charming apartment in great location.

The owners are very communicative and helpful. The apartment is well stocked and there are several grocery stores within a block or two. You can walk easily to the museum square, tram stop, tour bus stop and canal rides. Lots or restaurants and pubs nearby. I would suggest you consider if you can easily navigate the charming sleeping alcove. There are several steps up and then a crawl over the footboard. We are in our 60’s and managed fine.

A lovely flat in most atractivearea.

We loved this flat. The garden was a real bonus in the hot weather as we could sit out. Even if it were not hot, simply seeing the greenery throghthe French windows was delightful. The area is attractive, residential but slightly bo ho, with small shops and restaurants. There is an excellent tram 2 mins away that takes you to the central station. I would certainly recommend the flat. And the owners were very friendly and helpful.
