About this property
Gite 1, Private Rural Location, only 15 mins. to Brittany's south coast Beaches
Kerguillaume (ker-ghee-ome) Ideally situated whether you’re looking for a country, beach or town holiday.
Only minutes from beautiful beaches and the Bretagne coastline.
Five minutes takes you to the very picturesque old port of Roche-Bernard with it’s many excellent eateries and bars, while the cottages of Kerguillaume itself are in a calm rural setting, surrounded by large gardens and meadows, at the end of a quiet, no-through, lane.
Ideal for families or several families across the 3 cottages (bring the grandparents too!).
The Riding school, Centre Equestre de Kerlarno is within walking distance and shops and beaches just a short drive away.
Gite 1: can easily sleep 4/5 also great for 2 and has the added benefit of a downstairs twin bedroom with ensuite shower room. Large lounge with UK sat TV, dining area, kitchen including washing machine, fridge /freezer, microwave etc. Upstairs you will find a large, beamed, vaulted double bedroom with sofa bed if required and separate shower room.
Outside - as well as large lawned gardens and shubberies front and rear, Gite1 has a patio area and stone BBQ with patio table & chairs, picnic bench and loungers.
Gites 2 + 3: will comfortably sleep 6/7, upstairs you will find the shower room & 1 double, 1 twin bedded and 1 bunk bedroom, with baby cots available in any bedroom. Downstairs you have the comfortable lounge with UK sat TV, gite3 also has a lovely log burning fire for cosy winter stays. Both cottages have good sized fitted kitchens and dining areas, with access to front and rear gardens.
Outside, both cottages have use of the large communal gardens and also benefit from their own patio areas and individual BBQ settings, so you can mix as much, or as little as you like!
Cots and high chairs available free of charge to all cottages.
The gites (cottages) of Kerguillaume offer.. . private location, countryside surroundings and yet close by to so many amenities and activities. So much to see and do in the surrounding area.
La Roche-Bernard only 4km from the cottages at Kerguillaume, has a variety of shops and supermarkets, an interesting and varied weekly market, many excellent restaurants, swimming pool & marina with canoe & boat hire as well as the artisan quarter.
Brittany has it's own proud identity, La Roche Bernard too, the river, the countryside and the nearby coastline, charming market towns, it ticks all the boxes. It is also near enough for travelling regularly from the UK and mainland Europe.

About the host
Hosted by nicholas christodoulou

The property was a working dairy farm, a throw-back to the middle ages when I bought it in 1989, gites 2&3 were cattle barns complete with cows!
It's location and potential we're fantastic, having oak beams, stone walls and country aspect, yet near beaches and the wonderful historic town of La Roche Bernard, which enchanted me after my first views while driving over the suspension bridge. I knew instantly this was the place for me after spending month's looking around other areas of France.
The benefits of this property were that it is at the end of a lane, surrounded by fields, meadows, country lanes for cycling and walking. We had small children with us and we felt it was safe for them to play and explore without the worry of passing traffic and there is enough land to play football etc. without annoying anybody.
I knew the river was good for fishing and there was a good golf course nearby, plus all the local attractions highlighted earlier.
There are many fine restaurants, and eateries to suite everyone nearby.
Being a musician I've enjoyed the live music which appears regularly in the beautifully restored theatre (now a brassiere/bar) Sarah B.(after Sarah Bernhart) and other bars around the towns and villages. Indeed I've made many friends, and they are always there to help.
