About this property
Bright, sunny & spacious 3 bed/2 bath triplex in Notting Hill
A three-level apartment at the top of a large Victorian building. The place is spacious - around 100 square metres, or 1000+ square feet - with three double bed rooms and two tiled bathrooms with underfloor heating. The large reception room has a pine dining table with benches and sixties Pieff chairs, a huge sofa, a window seat, and a comfy chaise longue by the main window.
The sash windows of that main room looks out onto lime and plane trees, and it gets wonderful light all day. A well-appointed kitchen runs along one wall, with fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, oven, dishwasher and washer-dryer. There's a 42-inch smart TV with Freeview, Netflix Amazon Prime and Disney+, which you can also use to login to your own accounts.
The flat's multi-storey layout allows couples, parents and kids all to enjoy a degree of independence, and the topmost bedroom feels like a mini-apartment in its own right; it's right next to the second bathroom, with its own cozy seating area.
I've lived in the flat for almost 25 years, so it's definitely got a personal stamp, but the odds and ends are kept in good order. I'm happy to provide extra linen and towels on request, and the flat comes with regular household items (kettle, toaster, iron, cooking staples, juicer and so on). A chest of drawers in the main room can convert into a desk if you need to work from home, and you'll have access to a printer as well as a reliable and fast wi-fi/ethernet connection (speeds are usually between 500mb and 1gb).
The flat backs onto the Westway - an overpass through London for those who don't know - though the noise is minimal thanks to effective triple glazing. It's non-smoking, but there's a small roof terrace (about 3m x 3m) where you're welcome to do as you please.
The space isn't always available, because it's where I ordinarily live, but please do get in touch if you're interested.
As you probably know already if you're looking at this post, the surrounding neighbourhood is one of London's most vibrant districts. Portobello's legendary weekend market is on the doorstep, and there are more local restaurants, bars, delis and cafes than you can shake a stick at. Sainsbury's & Tesco each have branches within 50 metres, and there's a 24-hour convenience store next to the tube. If you enjoy walking, the greenery of Holland Park and Hyde Park is a (very pleasant) 15-20 minute walk away.
From the apartment, you can reach almost anywhere in central London within half an hour. As already mentioned, it takes less than two minutes to walk to Ladbroke Grove underground station, where trains link to London's main transport hubs. It's a 3-stop journey to Paddington (where you can catch the Elizabeth Line and Heathrow Express); eight stops to the Eurostar and Luton Airport connection at Kings Cross/St Pancras; and nine stops from the Gatwick train at Farringdon. Alternatively, you're a short (15-minute) walk away from the Central Line stations at Holland Park and Notting Hill Gate. There are five or six buses that stop nearby (including 24-hour nightbuses), and between them they go pretty much anywhere: Oxford Street, the British Museum, the National Gallery, Knightsbridge, the museums of South Kensington, Victoria, Liverpool Street/Brick Lane, and so on.
There's a secure underground car-park just about a quarter of a mile from the apartment. Rates vary, but they are cheap: the price for a full week is £30.
