About this property
Nr Devizes, Marlborough & Bath, , walled garden
Greenheys is a cosy 18th Century semi detached red brick house in the heart of the historic ridge top village of Seend in Wiltshire where most houses are listed - there is also a wonderful village shop. As befitting a period property the decor is traditional with antique furniture. It offers a cosy elegant accommodation in an historic location for a countryside break. It sleeps 4 with an option for 5. It boasts a beautiful walled garden with well stocked flower beds.
The house is a charming 18th century former coaching Inn set across 2 floors. There are two bedrooms on the first floor, including two doubles (one king size bed, one double bed with an additional single bed), sleeping 4 to 5 guests. It has one bathroom and a ground floor cloak room.
The main living room on ground floor has comfortable seating around a wood burner together with a formal dining area. There is also a separate drawing room also with log burner and widescreen TV + Blu Ray player as well as an upright piano.
The kitchen with marbled work services is well equipped with an adjoining walk- in pantry and separate breakfast room. There is also a boot room to store outdoor clothes and coats. As a well as a laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
The patio outside with teak dining table and chairs is a pleasant area to dine in the summer and enjoy the walled garden and elegant greenhouse. The garden includes an enclosed lawned area, and well stocked flower beds. Access via ancient footpaths lead to the Kennet and Avon Canal to the rear and to the beautiful plains of Wiltshire to the front.
The local market towns of Devizes and Melksham are less than 10 mins drive. The historic towns of Marlborough (25 mins) Bath (35 mins) Salisbury (45 mins) amongst other are further afield. Stonehenge, Avebury and Longleat are also within striking distance.
It is a perfect place to relax with family and/or friends, for re-unions & celebrations, for a long or short break, and also for local events like the Marlborough Summer School.
