House was very spacious, inviting, and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable and the furniture was comfortable. Henry was very helpful and the yard and pool area was very well-maintained. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, but the stove burners were inconsistent. Only one burner worked really well. The kitchen had two refrigerators, which was very nice. The beach towels were too small and not really beach towels to begin with. If we were to return, we would bring our own. The air conditioning worked very well, but water pressure in the house was very low. Google Maps should not be recommended for use to find this place. Waze works just fine, but Google Maps doesn't work very well. Waze seems to works much better in El Salvador overall.
We enjoyed our stay here at this beach front property. It was clean, open, well kept, and safe. All the rooms have air conditioning. The outside leading to the beach is tranquil with the pool, hammocks, and the sound of the ocean waves. The property is maintained by caretakers who do come by a few times a day to check on the place, but overall non-intrusive. The roads leading to the property are not the best shape so be mindful of that. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Great place very nice people got some strict rules and is very deep inland
it was a great time found a couple of ants inside the bed where we slept but all I'm all for a family is good they got see a different style of living but the area is not a party area and lights at 10pm which wasn't too bad but would be nice if it was 11 or 12 the place was deep inside so don't expect a beautiful scenery until you get inside the house family had a great time and that's really all that matters

Thank you for the feedback. We are a family style home. We are remotely located right on a quiet beach, and though we do have neighbors, you may not see anyone on the beach for days! I'm happy to hear you and your family enjoyed your stay. We hope you visit us again.
The property is lovely. The beach is isolated and if you are spending most of your time at the location the home works out great. The neighborhood is not gear to exploring anything you require is a car ride away. The property has air conditioning in the bed rooms however the other rooms do not. Because the home does not have central air it does force you to enjoy the outdoors and the outdoor spaces is where this home shines. The pool area and the gazebos are excellent.
After going through about a dozen or so houses on VRBO we decided on this magnificent property. The pictures absolutely do not lie, what you see is what you get. The location is very secluded if privacy is your thing during a family vacation. Communication with the owner was very easy. The caretakers, Henry and Jocelyn were very friendly and always ready to make our stay amazing. The only way to get there is on a dirt road but it’s for about 1-2KM. There is plenty of refrigerator space and all the kitchen amenities you need to cook. There is even an outdoor grill so you can grill up some steaks while you lounge in the pool. Speaking of pool, Henry keeps it pristine. But I think where this property shines is the location right in the beach. It is just a few steps away from the property. I would most definitely stay at this location again.

Good but expected more
Property was nice and accommodating to everyone. It had multiple rooms, bathrooms and more. However, getting there was hard. We needed coordinates rather than address because maps wouldn’t find location. WiFi is very slow but it’s the best they could do. Tv did not work at all so it was a bit upsetting for our kids. There is no ac in the house. They have ac in the room. When we arrived it was excruciating HOT. The fans and ac were off so it was terrible arriving to a hot house with a toddler and a baby. Staff were very friendly and sweet! Location is nice bc it’s on the beach but you can’t swim there and the area of the beach could be kept better.

Hi Jessica,
Thank you for your review. I am really sorry if you didn’t feel comfortable during your stay. We always work very hard to make sure all of our guests have a positive and relaxing stay at our vacation home. We wanted to make sure your stay was as comfortable as possible and went as far as purchasing a brand new portable crib for your infant. Unfortunately the rainy season in El Salvador starts in May and while it is normal during this time of year to be hot, the weather has been unusually hot this year. From what I know we have had record breaking temperatures. Again we apologize, as we have no control over the weather. While the main areas of the house don’t have AC units, there are plenty of fans and windows that have always been sufficient to keep the house cool. Every bedroom has a ceiling fan and an AC unit. We typically don’t run these prior to your arrival. If you request for us to do so in advance and we know your time of arrival we can definitely get them going for you, but again this has never been an issue. As far as getting to the property we have never had any issues with guests finding the address. We always suggest to you to use the WAZE or Google Maps apps. Again, we apologize if you had a hard time finding the address. The internet we provide is usually very reliable and fast but during the rainy season, depending on the amount of rain or wind, it can slow down. Also, we haven’t had any issues with the TV, I am not sure if you were trying to use cable TV (which we provide) or if you were trying to stream videos through Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, etc. then the internet might have been a factor. We are sorry you couldn’t enjoy the beach, during the dry season you can enjoy swimming in the shore for hours. Again, rainy season changes the tide behavior and if the coast guard advices against it, we do not recommend you swim in the ocean for your own safety.
We hope you will come back during a cooler time of the year to enjoy your time.

Nice place but didn’t like the inconvenience of the staff.
It’s a nice place, but the in and out of the staff was inconvenient.
From start to finish, The property owner Rebecca always was responsive and delivered on the description of her property and experience. The property is well equipped and maintained. Our week was memorable and are already planning our return. Lastly and certainly not least, the caregivers of the Villa that live on the property Henry n Jocelin are lovley people who were welcoming and warm. While they make sure that Villa Kura Kura is always Show ready n clean they are not intrusive and very helpful! if you need some fresh tortillas or an extra few avocados you forgot to buy or just some fresh towels, they are wonderful. Lastly besides the calming energy of the grounds and beautiful views that abound. I'll miss my new buddy Pipo The dog. What a sweetie! Gracias Rebecca por una semana bella!
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Kura Kura. The house is beautiful. More than enough room for my family. The pool and beach were amazing. The caretakers were very nice and helpful. The both ensured we had a great stay. Rebecca, quickly responded to all my emails and provided excellent information.
Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We had an amazing time in this nice, clean and Perfect beach house. We enjoyed every moment of it by the beach, pool and the comfort inside this beautiful house. Henry and Joselyn were always so nice to help on anything we needed. We would definitely go back !!!
Thank You Rebeccca 😃
This house is amazing so much to see and do. The pool was never empty from sunrise until sunset we were in it, yes we did take advantage of the great hammocks and just lounged around absorbing the sun. Josalyn was a amazing cook who made the most delicious meals, and cleaned up after us..Henry took care of the pool and beach chairs ,He even climbed the coconut trees for us and cut them down so we could enjoy the juice and meat .yummy...miss it already..the ocean right outside of your backyard provided the tranquil sounds of waves thru the night. A small store is located in front of the house for some snack and right next door the neighbor makes the most delicious frozen chocolate fruit. You must go and I promise you will totally enjoy your stay. Rebecca the house manager called to check during our stay to make sure all was alright.. and it was,. I can not wait to go back......
I love the Property , the beach a was very private, the services very nice persons Humble and respectful

Beautiful, Quiet, Peaceful, & Relaxing
We absolutely loved our stay at House Cara Cara. We were a group of seven adults and the house felt very spacious. There are many sitting areas outside, so we were able to have space when we needed it. The house, grounds, and pool were kept exceptionally clean. Paty and Saul, the caretakers, made our stay even better. They were very kind and helpful. We hired Paty to cook for us which made the trip much more relaxing. Saul had someone climb the trees to get us fresh coconuts, and he came to get us when he found a turtle laying eggs on the beach. On our final night, their whole family made us a bonfire with fireworks to say goodbye.
The beach is beautiful with soft sand and very few people around. We loved listening to the waves crash on the shore. The waves are quite rough though, so it isn't a great place to swim, but we just used the pool. Also, the sunsets on the beach were very stunning, but make sure you bring and use bug dope as we got many sand flea bites on our feet when on the beach. They are the worst at sunrise and sunset as well as in the evening in general.
Just four houses down (to the left on the beach) is a turtle sanctuary. We got to release baby turtles twice during our ten day stay for a small donation. This was definitely a highlight of our trip!
You will need a vehicle or to hire a driver as the house is very rural. There are a couple of small stores within walking distance, but they only carry pop and snacks. Rebecca suggested hiring Ernesto as a driver. He has a 14 passenger van, he picked us up from the airport, and he is familiar with the house's location. On the way to the house, he told us about a Papusa (local food) Festival happening the next day, so we hired him to take us. We trusted him fully, and he took us around to areas we never would have seen on our own. We highly recommend him! He doesn't speak any English, but we were able to communicate via Google Translate on his cell phone.
Rebecca was very easy to communicate with. She answered all of our questions promptly and thoroughly. She also messaged us several times during our stay to ensure things were going well and to see if we needed anything. Thank you Rebecca! We hope to return one day!

Comfortable and Peaceful
The beach house is very comfortable and Paty and Saul saw to all our needs. The living space is ample for a large party but doesn't feel overwhelmingly huge for a smaller party. Lots of places to sit and relax. More chaise lounges would be useful. Paty made several tasty meals for us. Saul kept an eye out for turtles on the beach and summoned us when there was a good opportunity to see them. There's a grocery store, pier to buy fish, and several restaurants about 25-30 minutes away. We also drove down to El Tunco for lunch one day. Lots of choices and pretty views. Our only issues were that the internet wasn't working - but Saul was attentive and made accommodations - and there isn't any hot water. We wished we had known about that beforehand because we were traveling with little kids and it made cleaning them uncomfortable. All in all, a beautiful house with great staff.

Thank you for the kind words Cate. We enjoyed hosting you and your family. I apologize about the Wifi, we recently upgraded our Wifi and unfortunately the company did not update the payment method as per our agreement. I called to settle it, however they were unable to process immediately, and therefore we ended up without Wifi. I am glad we were able to provide you with Wifi via a sim card in the end. Since your stay the company (Claro) has contacted me to asure me the payment method is all settled. I plan on checking with them so this does not happen again.
We hope you are able to visit us again soon!

Peaceful, comfortable and great service beach house
The house is extremely comfortable and impeccably clean. The beach is very peaceful without all the busyness that you find in other beaches which perhaps are more popular for socializing, but for our family it was just perfect including the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Paty and Saul, the caretakers, were very special to our entire family and made our stay even more pleasurable, we felt at home. Thanks for a great new year’s break.

About the host
Hosted by Rebecca Navarro
I'm a mom of 3 kiddos who loves to travel and enjoy life. Our family loves seeing new places and exploring new experiences any chance we get.
Why they chose this property
I love the beaches in El Salvador, and as a family we always wanted to own a piece of it. When my mother went back and decided to retire there, we saw the perfect opportunity/excuse to purchase a home there! We fell in love with Cangrejera because of it's privacy. There are times you don't see anyone out on the beach for a couple of days. We've traveled to many beaches, but few as nice and WARM as this! We also liked the fact that our neighbors take good care of their property and care about our surroundings. It's such an interesting little country with lovely people and amazing scenery, from the mountains to the beaches it's always fun to explore El Salvador
What makes this property unique
We rebuilt the entire house with our own comfort in mind. We liked having spacious rooms and spacious bathrooms that had clean lines. We are also not big fans of the bugs that can roam around, so we made sure to put screens in all the doors and windows in the house. We integrated some of the things the old owner left into the house's decor, such as a set of wooden carved doors that now adorn one of the walls. We like having friends and family join us, so we made sure there was plenty of areas to engage with all and also areas to get away from everyone :). The gardens just got a clean up with over 22 coconut trees, the house enjoys amazing weather in the green area. Plenty of shade to keep you cool and out of the sun without having to go indoors or under a roof. It is such a tranquil place, you will fall in love with the property, like we have!
