Outside there is a wooden wind-shielded deck, dining furniture & BBQ - perfect for quiet al fresco dining with a picturesque view. It is very close to Letterfrack village, (shops, pubs & restaurants), Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden & Cleggan.
This delightful new cottage is cheerful and bright - just like its owner who, along with her sister, is a well-known traditional Irish fiddle player. Children are warmly welcome here. A baby's cot is available on request. The front garden is a large and safe area for kids to play in. This is a strictly non-smoking property.
Baunoges Cottage is situated in a foodie's paradise with the award winning Renvyle House Hotel a mere 10 minutes away by car. If you feel like walking, the Rosleague Manor Hotel is only a five minute trek from the cottage. The village of Letterfrack is 1.5 miles from the cottage and has shops, pubs, and restaurants. The Avoca Handcrafts shop is half a mile from the cottage with a great variety of clothes, handcrafts, books, cds and kitchenware. Kylemore Abbey is less than ten minutes drive with beautiful landscaped gardens, and pretty walks around the abbey and its lakes. Killary Harbour and Leenane is a little further towards Westport. It is eight miles from Clifden, the capital of Connemara - a great place to go for food and to listen to some traditional Irish music. You can always take the Sky Road Drive out of Clifden, with its breathtaking views across to Slyne Head, Ballyconeely and Errislannon. Inishbofin is a day trip and reachable by a ferry that leaves Cleggan every morning and evening - give yourself 20 minutes to get there as the roads can be busy during the summer. There are many fine sandy beaches in the area - just ask and I'll be happy to direct you to a few hidden gems. At the right time of the year, you can also walk the shore and collect cockles & mussels - a lovely meal in itself. Connemara National Park is practically on the doorstep, with a variety of walks to suit everyone and an excellent playground for kids of all ages! There is also a lovely tea room with a visitors centre open daily.Check out the new video on her website which will give you a much better insight into Red Deer Cottage!
