About this property
CAUSEWAY COTTAGE, family friendly, with a garden in Pencombe
A traditional cottage located in Pencombe in Herefordshire that can sleep five people in three bedrooms.
Causeway Cottage is a traditional cottage set in the village of Pencombe in Herefordshire. It has two king-size doubles and a twin room as well as a ground floor bathroom and a first floor cloakroom, it can sleep five people. The cottage comes with a kitchen, dining room and sitting room. Outside is a large garden with a patio area with furniture as well as lawned areas on several levels. A tremendous cottage in a sublime location, with walking and cycling in the area, as well as many places to visit.
Amenities: Oil central heating. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Staircase with handrails, safety gates also available. Off road parking for 2 cars. Enclosed lawned gardens with patio and pond. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 3 miles, pub 5 mins walk. Note: The garden is enclosed with hedges and three-rail fences and the garden pond does have a safety cover. However, because of this water feature, as well as the nearby brook and washing pool, parents are advised that children - and especially young children without basic water safety - must be closely supervised. Please be advised: The path (or "causeway") that runs alongside the property, leading from the off-road parking to the cottage itself, is fairly short, but quite steep; please consider this when booking, as it may not be suitable for those who find steeper gradients challenging
Please note the fireplace is ornamental only
Region: Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairytale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye.
Town: The thriving village of Pencombe is surrounded by farmland, beautifully situated amidst lovely Herefordshire countryside, just 3 miles from the delightful, medieval market town of Bromyard. Located between the cathedral cities of Hereford and Worcester, Pencombe is the perfect base for touring the surrounding counties renowned for their outstanding scenery, boasting scenic walks and cycle trails, great nature watching opportunities and of course, a wealth of historical houses and gardens scattered throughout the area. Nearby Bromyard has an air of timelessness with many half-timbered buildings, helping visitors relax amongst a good range of pubs, restaurants and shops, whilst the cathedral town of Hereford dates back to Saxon times, and with its medieval bridge over the winding River Wye it is the very image of picturesque England. With a mix of buildings from almost every British era, eclectic Hereford is a popular base for those seeking to explore the locale – being ideally placed for accessing the ‘Black and White’ villages of the region, not to mention the delights of neighbouring Shropshire, Worcestershire and The Cotswolds. This lovely location has plenty to offer, at any time of year!
