The Cider Mill near Hereford and Hay on Wye with 3 ensuite bedrooms
The Cider Mill is located in the tranquil and peaceful hamlet of Monnington on Wye in the Wye Valley close to the border of Wales and almost equidistant from the City of Hereford and the book lovers town of Hay on Wye. It is in a rural situation and has views over farmland and is easily connected to pubs, farmshops, activities and local towns nearby.
The Cider Mill is a stone bungalow on one level and has 3 ensuite bedrooms all with superking beds and luxurious linen which can be split by arrangement. It is ideal for 3 couples or a small family group. It caters brilliantly for those with mobility issues. It is level access throughout save for a small step at the front door and french doors.
There is a very spacious kitchen/sitting room filled with light which overlooks the very pretty mature and enclosed large garden. 2 comfy sofas surround the fireplace and there is a pretty elm dining table from India which can seat 6. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of crockery and utensils. Books and board games are provided.
The garden is a real asset. It is beautiful. If you enjoy sunlight, peace, birdsong this is the place for you. There is a south facing terrace with garden table and chairs for 6 and also soft seating for 6. During the summer months a weber style bbq and parasol are provided. A badminton set is provided for use on the lawn.
A small outbuilding houses the washing machine and tumble dryer and overflow fridge. There is parking for one normal size car. Car parking for 5 additional cars is available in the drive.
We do accept dog (s) by prior arrangement. Charges apply. A paws on floor policy applies with no dogs permitted in the bedrooms nor on the furniture. No wedding groups and nor groups of 30 year old accepted.
Oakchurch the fabulous farm shop is 1.8 miles from the house. Guests frequently walk along the Wye Valley Walk to the Red Lion at Bredwardine or the Garden Cafe at Brobury House. It takes a good hour.
Good choice of gastro pubs all within 20 minutes. Lovely market towns of Hay on Wye, Presteigne, Leominster and Hereford are nearby. Canoeing at Byecross is loved by our guests and go karting at Weobley. The Rare Small Breeds Farm at Kington is a delight and loved by the young and old. Tennis and padel can be played in Hereford. Bikes can be hired and deposited here and you can hire a guide too. The lovely National Trust Weir Gardens are only 4 miles away and there are plenty of National Gardens Scheme gardens to visit.
A 5 Star Gold special holiday cottage with high specification furnishings and decorations on one level with just one small step up into the porch (see photo). Suitable for those who enjoy safe space, tranquility and walking from the the door with lots of activities and places to visit nearby.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Take a photo of 2 sets of keys and leave on dining table. Send photo to owners on or before 10.00 am
If you have had a dog staying please walk through garden and collect and dispose of any dog waste which has been left
If you have used the badminton set please collapse it and out back neatly in box in porch. Please collapse umbrella to prevent it from being damaged by wind. Wash bbq and leave it ready for re-use
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

My husband was brought up in Monnington on WYe and his parents chose Monnington House (listing no 8127249) as their family home and farm. They loved the beauty of the Wye Valley and particularly enjoyed the oak trees scattered over the farm.

3 en suite bedrooms with superking beds on one level. High specification beds supplied and beautiful 400 count egyptian linen. Mature and beautiful and enclosed south facing garden. Spacious and light sitting room/kitchen with Interesting and high quality furnishings. The River Wye is nearby. Walking from the door. Pub within one hours walk walk. Good wifi. Lots of interesting local places to visit nearby.
