Barn Conversion in a peaceful location ideal for exploring the Welsh borders.
The 17th century Yew Tree Barn is set in a courtyard with the owners farmhouse on a working dairy farm where we also make our delicious Kelsmor ice cream. Yew Tree Barn has its own patio with table and chairs, and a shared garden with a small lake. The barn was converted to give a light modern space but still retains the character and beams. The slate floored entrance hall leads to three oak floored bedrooms and the main bathroom on the ground floor. The master bedroom has a 5ft king size bed and an ensuite shower room. The second bedroom has a 5ft king size bed, and a door to the patio. The third bedroom has a 4ft6inch double bed and a 3ft single bed and also has a door to the patio. The family bathroom has a bath and a separate shower cubicle. From the hall stairs lead to the first floor and the large vaulted open plan kitchen, dining and living space, ideal for socialising. Off the kitchen is a utility room containing the washing machine & tumble drier. Large windows allow light to pour into the barn making it a very airy space. Doors from the living area lead to a small balcony where you can sit with a coffee or a glass of wine watching the cows in the paddock, or the rabbits playing, and the sun setting over Garway Hill. The underfloor heating throughout the barn is powered by a ground source heat pump which also heats the water.

Lovely weekend, stunning property with everything we could ask for. Great Sunday roast at the local pub 2 min away also. Couldn’t fault it! Thanks for the lovely welcome pack too, much appreciated, really enjoyed every minute!
a fantastic barn with lovely views just what we needed after a very busy and stressful time in our lives sitting on the balcony watching the cows graze sipping wine was so peaceful and really did feel like we had escaped to the country shall be back

Thank you for your comments. The window cleaner was due to arrive after you had left. It had been particularly dusty recently and unfortunately we had been too busy on the farm to clean the windows ourselves. We will try to fit in more cleans as needed.
Lovely clean modern place to stay. Lovely welcoming hosts and nothing was a problem. Near to Ross on Wye and Monmouth.
Would love to go again.
Many thanks

Lovely rural location. We visited places in Wales and the West Midlands. Hosts were very welcoming and all the family enjoyed the Milking parlour and ice cream making.

We were so pleased that you enjoyed your stay over Christmas and would love to welcome you back>
Yew Tree Barn is a gem, beautifully converted to a stylish holiday home. The open plan first floor living area works very well, and there is space enough for everyone. The barn is well equipped, and in a fabulous location. Very peaceful and beautiful part of the world. Thanks to Susan and family for a lovely stay, great communication, and a lovely selection of treats on arrival. I would not hesitate to recommend.

We were so pleased that you enjoyed your stay, & also the goodies in the welcome basket. We are lucky to live in an area with so many small producers of good food.
We stayed at Yew Tree Barn for 4 fabulous days when we first arrived in the UK. I can't say enough good things about this beautiful place. The welcome basket was so nice after a long drive and the ice cream was to die for.
The kitchen was very well appointed with ample cooking items and dish ware. The living space was cozy and comfortable.
The bedrooms were all lovely.
We were able to explore both Wales and England from the barn.
Susan was extremely responsive and so kind and helpful when we had questions. I highly recommend the Yew Tree Barn. Would love to come back some day.
My wife and two daughters had a memorable 9 days holiday at this beautiful cottage. Set in stunning countryside, it made for the perfect base for exploring the outstanding Herefordshire and Monmouthshire countryside. Lakes, rivers, hills with local towns providing superb food and drink. Susan was a brilliant host, never a problem answering questions, a lovely welcoming basket and aside from the dairy cows early morning calls, nothing but peace and tranquility in a modern house set in a 17th century barn with outstanding views, particularly the sun setting sat on the balcony. Loved it.
Lovely short break in beautiful rural Herefordshire
Yew tree farm is a lovely dairy farm set in peaceful countryside. There is lots of walking and interesting local towns and villages to explore.. the hosts, Sarah and Mark, are very friendly and are only too happy to show you round the farm and explain how it all works.
Our family rented this beautiful converted barn on working dairy for our Xmas break. There were 6 adults and 2 dogs and we found it spacious, clean and cosy.
Susan had decorated the barn with a real xmas tree and left us a welcome basket, it truly was gorgeous 😍
The barn had everything AND more than we needed for our 3 night stay, we were so impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was!
We all had a wonderful time and would highly recommend.
Well equipped property on a working dairy farm. The complimentary farm produced ice cream was delicious. In a great location for walking holidays. Short walk to the pub for good food. Owned by a lovely family who made time to chat to us and where nothing was too much trouble.
we enjoyed a great time at Yew Tree Barn(6’old’ uni friend’s reunion)
The property was exactly as described and totally suited our needs. Lovely part of the country.
Fantastic, beautiful, peaceful get away. Highly recommend it.
Really beautiful location. Very quiet considering you are on a working farm. The hosts are very nice but they leave you to it, which was nice. If you are one for getting up early and getting on with your day, this is the place. No need for an alarm, cows do that for you. I loved it.
The barn it's self is a very nice conversation, nice high vaulted ceiling upstairs, beautiful old beams.
Be prepared to travel when you're there to visit all the sites of the Brecon Beacons. If you do your homework before hand you'll know. Didn't bother us. Better value for money if you stay just inside England rather than in the national park. The ice-cream on site sold for me. 😁 It's lovely. Highly recommend a visit. I wanted to stay longer.
We had a fantastic week in the barn. It is really well-equipped, we had everything we could possibly need. The owners were very friendly and there if we needed them - they let the kids go and watch the cows being milked and were available if we needed to buy extra ice cream!
The welcome basket and goodies in the fridge was really lovely, even treats for the dogs - so thoughtful.
Garway Common itself is a great place to stay for exploring the area. There’s also a brand new play area in the village which the kids loved.
We all loved our week and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
We had a fabulous stay at Yew Tree Farm.
The accommodation is excellent and very well equipped
It was very clean warm and comfortable
Sue and Mark are very friendly and accommodating.
The welcome pack was excellent with a lovely card wishing us a happy Ruby Wedding Anniversary .
A delightful place to stay.
Tha location and facilities of the barn was as described but more. The local produce and welcome pack was delicious and a nice surprise. The owners were very friendly, interesting to talk to as it is a working dairy farm, which took me back to my childhood. We would highly recommend staying there. Was a unique experience.
A Great Place. We all really enjoyed staying on this farm. The children loved seeing the cows and Adam was so good telling them all about looking after them
An immculate and very well eqipped holiday home and a good base to visit the Wye Valley
A lovely place to bring the dogs, fabulous large field as the cows were indoors where the dogs could go off lead. Very welcoming and warm. Delightful we are likely to return next year. Close enough to Hartpury to visit our daughter at uni
A really comfortable barn conversion that suited our group perfectly. A delicious welcome pack on arrival and very welcoming hosts. Being located right on the farm added extra character. Kids loved seeing the cows, new calves and enjoying the ice cream!
Lots to do and walks nearby together with some good pubs. Highly recommend.
