This cottage was just lovely to spend some time in - we had 4 very comfy nights. Quiet location with easy access to the Douglas Promenade, our host could not have been more helpful and welcoming.

Thank you for your comments, we hope you enjoyed your stay.
This little cottage provided everything we needed for our stay in Douglas. An easy walk to the waterfront and plenty of places to eat about.
Adele was very helpful regarding how to get there from the ferry terminal and had provided bus and train timetables in the house.
Thank you, we had a great holiday

Thank you for your nice review, we’re delighted you had a good stay, we’d be happy to welcome you back.
The evening we arrived, it was raining with quite a wind but Adele was there to meet us. I’m disabled and Adele even helped unload the car and had held a parking space nearby for us. She had already sorted out the form for applying for a Temporary Parking Permit which we were able to collect the following morning, which enabled us to park in the streets close to the house which made things a lot easier for the whole holiday. The house was lovely and very well supplied, not just with basics but with all sorts of store cupboard goods. The house was spotless and very comfortable all round, we both slept well there, even though it is right in town, with shops close by, it was a quiet little terrace. Overall we had a great holiday stayin in Maple Leaf Gardens.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Location
Average at best
Area seemed somewhat "iffy" - property itself clean and quite well equipped. However, television/dvd player did not work properly, the toaster was not big enough to take proper toast and when using oven smoke alarm kept going off and the shower was a nightmare if you didn't need to wash your hair. Will not be back.

Thank you for your valued feedback.
We are very disappointed to hear your stay was not comfortable. We are not aware of any issues with the TV or DVD player and would have been very happy to pop by and address this had you made us aware.
We are also slightly confused with your issue with the shower. This is a brand new wet room only installed a couple of months ago which has an overhead rain shower and a separate hand held unit.
We are very sorry to hear, after you have left, that your stay was not comfortable and we were not able to do anything about it at the time.
The cottage was a lovely cosy home from home. The hosts had gone over and above, welcoming us upon arrival and the cottage was a delight when we entered. Communication had started as soon as we booked and continued until departure which was great. The cottage was festively decorated and as we had never been away for Christmas before it was a great touch. The cottage was spotless, warm and welcoming. The extra bits that the hosts had left for us were excellent. All facilities needed were in the cottage. Washer, dryer, full kitchen, constant hot water and heated throughout. Douglas centre was literally a few minutes walk away. We had never visited the Isle of Man before but we will definitely return and we will rebook this property.

It was a pleasure to Host Paula and her family and we would be happy to welcome then back again.
Our grandchildren and we enjoyed our stay at this property. We appreciated the supply of goodies and essentials left for us, and were grateful for the standard of the property, furnishings, storage and provisions. We enjoyed the games available. It was well located for shops, restaurants and central areas of Douglas. The possible downside - lack of parking on the doorstep - was no problem at all as parking was possible in adjacent streets. Our hosts kindly made the acquisition of a temporary parking permit very easy [it would even easier if the IoM Government created a scheme for property hosts to hold temporary permits and issue them directly to renters]. The withholding of one star was to do with our wrong identification of the correct door with which to use the key supplied from the lockbox. We understand that Adele and John would usually meet their guests. The one way to definitely prevent any ambiguity would be to simplify the address, simply refer to 10 Peveril Terrace, and place the "10" on the real door. Again we appreciate there may be marketing or other reasons not to do that - but we had been puzzled by the address ever since we made the booking.

Hi Les - Thank you for your review and we are delighted you and your family enjoyed your stay and the facilities we had to offer.
We apologies once again for any confusion caused by the location of the key box. We mentioned in our correspondence that the key box was 'to the left of the front door is another blue door with number 10 on, it is beside this door'.
We will take on board your feedback regarding the numbering/naming of the property, which is :-
Maple Leaf Gardens, 10 Peveril Terrace, Douglas
All the very best
