Not impressed at all.

We enjoyed our holiday as we were with family and Croyde is beautiful at all times of the year. Fortunately we were also lucky with the weather. However our issues started before our holiday began. I found out by coincidence our check in time had changed from 4pm to 7PM! All the clarification I got for this when asked was due to Covid we need to do extra cleaning. No consideration for my individual circumstances. I except extra cleaning is required due to the current pandemic however you cannot tell me you are cleaning every single property from 9am until 7pm!! Our family includes 2 children under 2. Who would normally go to bed at 7pm. So I found this very disatisfying. We book self catering for the flexibility of a young family. However my issue fell on deaf ears. I also tried to enquire about booking for Sunday night too, as due to these reduced hours on our holiday it meant a weekend break was now really only 1 day in the property. However the phone just rings & I had no email response. Then most infuriating of all the increased cleaning appeared non existent. The place was dusty pretty much everywhere. Skirting, bathroom, under beds. Dirty cushions. Dirty plates (3 in total had what looked like old Chinese on it). Lots of chipped mugs and glasses. Broken light in double bedroom. Cobwebs on lights. Then when trying to find the highchair & travel cot i had asked to be available. My partner when retrieving it from under the bed came out covered in thick dust (we have a photo if you would like to see it)!! Not impressed at all. I appreciated its difficult times, with new rules, jobs hanging in the balance, sickness. However our family mainly consists of Nurses & Teachers, who too have been working in difficult circumstances, with new rules & concerns finding ways to adapt. But within these professions we cannot just say 'no' and we cannot use Covid as an excuse for poor levels of service & communication. Although booking through homeaway all correspondence came from Marsdens. Neither of whom we shall not be using again.
