Bits and Bobs: Apartments 1 and 2 are on the lower ground floor of our building but this lower floor is not connected internally to the upper floors. Instead these Apts share a hallway and a main entrance door leading out on to a courtyard (with a small laundry with washing machine & timber dryer shared between both apts which is located in the old Victorian WC block). Old stone outside steps run above the laundry and take you up to a platform at ground floor level with a guest bike rack should you want need it and then a big secure gate takes you out on to Ship Street Gardens which is arguably one of Brighton’s most beautiful ancient twittens - an Olde Sussex word meaning ‘lane’. This brick paved pedestrian lane is less than 100 meters long running between Ship Street to the east (where the front of our building is located) and Middle Street to the west with some beautiful cottages and shops along it’s whole length. We have three more apartments on the upper floors of the building but these are all let to long term residents and use a different entrance on Ship Street.
Other things to note:
(1) STREET NOISE AT WEEKENDS: If you’re looking for total peace and quiet, please be aware that we are right in the centre of Brighton’s Old Town and it can get quiet noisy out on the streets around our building throughout Friday and Saturday nights. All of this is beyond our control - however, our prices do reflect this fact as similar apartments in Brighton rent for over £100/night. That said, the apartment has double glazing and we even provide ear plugs for the really light sleepers. In reality, you are far more likely to be disturbed by Brighton’s seagull population who never seem to sleep!
(2) HOME SAFETY: We are professional landlords and as such you can be assured that the whole building (containing five apartments all of which we own) meets all current safety standards. The building is also protected by a modern, fully maintained fire detection system with smoke and heat detectors in each apartment connected to a control panel in the communal hallway. The system is tested every Thursday morning by our contractors at Brighton Fire Alarms.

The Apartment was spotless, everything in it and working, very well thought out for space and comfort we loved it, very central, we would certainly stay again and the host was extremely helpful, would recommend.
Outstandung value in every way. Unbeatable location in the heart of the Lanes (or twittens! ) . Easy access to everything and amazing hosts who were quick to respond when needed. Provided a great base for a longer stay for family reasons.
Excellent location close to absolutely everything, was awesome having access to a washing machine and tumble dryer after 3 weeks roaming Greece... shower was great and hot water plentiful. instructions to get in were easy and complete no issues getting into the flat. Only complaint was the damp which made the flat smell very musty... hosts were great in trying to remedy but was a bit overwhelming everything smelt after and was hard to sleep the first night. Was only there 3 days so managed but hope they find a fix for that
The apartment is easy to get to. A 7£ taxi or quick bus ride from the train station. Its also a few blocks from the beach and Southern lanes. It has all the amenities to make food in the apartment. The bed is incredibly comfortable.
We were late getting there and James got worried. He was attentive and sent messages to make sure we had everything we needed.
I will definitely stay there again next time we go to Brighton!
The apartment was clean and functional.
Netflix stopped working second night.
Not an ideal spot for woman on her own, being close to the alley way when returning back of an evening. Often groups of men in the alley way.
Apart from that the stay was enjoyable.
I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The location is excellent - I am like 1 min walk from the sea front (on one side) and another 1 min walk to the Lanes (on the other side). The apartment is fully furnished with all the essentials provided, everything from kettles to toaster, utensils, sofa beds and washing machine/dryer (which was very useful for me). Graeme (one of the hosts) was also there to guide me along when I had some queries around how to use the machines. I stayed over the weekend - there may be some noise from people who use the lane to cut through the blocks. This is NOT a problem for me as this was flagged to me when I booked the apartment, and to be honest, it did not bother me at all! Will be back!
Lovely apartment, spotless & clean, beautifully furnished n decorated with little details like flowers n cushions n canvas art of Brighton on the walls. 5 stars for that.
Self-check-in process was a bit complicated especially after several flights n bus rides n travelling for 12 hours.
The only thing we were missing there was the lack of natural light since it was a lower ground floor apartment. And I guess that's why it felt rather chilly n damp at times. And wouldn't mind to have a few more sockets as well.
Definitely recommend to all couples visiting Brighton&Hove.
We enjoyed our stay, we arrived via coach & were pleased with how close the property was, instructions to get into the property are easy enough to follow if read properly. Accommodation was decent, clean & comfortable. Close to all the places we wanted to visit. Hosts were lovely. Would stay again.
we had a fantastic time away in brighton. the property was brilliant and had everything we needed inside. we had a few troubles at first, but after speaking to the owners they fixed it quickly and promptly, they gave us the information we needed such as close by shops and parking. they were wonderful, and we couldn’t thank them enough for making our trip go that extra mile. we will be visiting again soon, and definitely staying at the same property!
Thanks guys for another great stay - the studio apartment was perfect for us - compact but spacious! It has everything that you need for a great holiday in Brighton. See you in December!!!
Our studio apartment was amazing. The hosts contacted us to see if we had everything, we were in a great location which enabled us to see all of Brighton either by foot or bus. The night life which suits all adult age groups (eg mother and daughter travelers) may be noisy but we were not disturbed. I would highly recommend staying here!
Wir waren 2 Erwachsene und ein Kind (13 Jahre) in der Einzimmerwohnung. Alles ist modern eingerichtet und dem Altbau entsprechend saniert und eingerichtet. Wir würden jederzeit wieder vorbeikommen.
