Condo Apartment Description:

5-minute walk to the beach! Fully-furnished and equipped 2-bedroom spacious condo apartment with 3 double beds (sleeps 6) in the most desirable condominium in Lagos "Condominio do Mar" with a view of the ocean, town and Marina de Lagos from every single room and from its two private terraces: one large walk-out terrace from the living room and from a bedroom and the other terrace with a walk-out from the 2nd. bedroom (master bedroom). Guests named one terrace as the Sunrise Terrace and the other as the Sunset Terrace to reflect the lights and colors that can be enjoyed from each of the terraces. A brand-new washing machine, water heater and heating/air condition units.

The apartment has a high chair and pack-and-play/travelling crib for families with infants/young children.

It has a beautiful pool, as well as children’s pool, play area and mini golf. There is also a restaurant on site. It is 1.5 km from the Palmares golf course!

No need to take a car because everything is next door: the sea, the Marina, the city, shops and restaurants. However a secure assigned car parking space in available. Convenient access lift/elevator from the street or from the garage to the apartment on the 3rd floor for luggage.

Furnished with solid Dutch furniture, one bedroom has 1 double-bed and second bedroom has 2 double-beds, all beds designed to fit even very tall guests. The apartment has heating and air condition, microwave, coffee pot, hot tea water electric pot, high-speed WI-Fi and a modern flat screen 128-channel TV via cable/satellite dish.

The apartment has a free guest assigned garage parking space although car is not needed to get around Lagos. There is a built-in BBQ on the large terrace which also has table and chairs for a romantic sunset happy hour drink. There is a modern local food market/grocery store (Pingo Doce), located within a 10-min stroll from the apartment, with a wonderful choice of fruits, vegetables, wines & groceries at reasonable price. It has a café and a dry cleaning service.

This apartment is conveniently located one block (5-minute stroll) to the famous Marina de Lagos Tourist & Ocean Fishing Complex and across the footbridge into Lagos main Town Centre where you will find quaint restaurants & shops, pubs/bars and night life. In the evening, the centre's cobble-stone streets come alive with colourful street entertainers, shops & talented artists. Night clubs & pubs are open late.

NOTE: To locate the building prior and/or upon your arrival, go into GPS and enter: "Condominio do Mar" or RESTAURANTE A MATILDE, LAGOS, PORTUGAL. Since the restaurant is in the building you will get directions to the apartment.

Rental rates are as listed here. Home Away adds a booking fee similar to all other online bookings. With the exception of booking fees, advertised prices include all fees and utilities, etc. .....NO hidden extras!
Reduced rates are available for monthly stays. Longer stays (2 months +) can be at greater reduced price , excluding utility bills.

Further details:

All bed linen and towels are included. Cleaning, linen and towel change takes place prior to guest arrival and after departure. If guest plan to stay longer than one week, cleaning, linen and towel change can be arranged for an extra fee of 60 euros. Vacuum cleaner and some cleaning material are available. Bath towels are provided, but we ask that guests bring their own beach towels.

Check in is after 4pm and check out is 12 mid-day.

Indoors' Details:

The apartment can sleep six adults very comfortably. Security will not allow more than 6 guests in the apartment unless guest obtains prior written approval at the time of booking and presents it at reception. If approval is granted at the time of booking, there will be a daily charge of €20 for each adult and €10 for each child exceeding the 6-guest limit.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with cutlery, crockery and all that is needed for cooking and dining. The washroom has a super shower, shower towels, hair dryer, etc.

Outdoors' Details:

Crazy Golf, Children's Play Area, Poolside Bar and Matilde Restaurant are located at the bottom of the building. Matilde Restaurant has house specials of steak and prawns “on the stone”. For the younger crowd, burgers and pizza is served.

The Train Station is at 5-minute walk, trains available to Faro, Portimao, Alvor and Lisbon. Bus Station 10 minutes’ walk.

Getting There:

Almost every low-cost and major airlines, like British Airways, TAP, Ryanair, Easyjet, Monarch, etc, fly from the UK (and other European countries) to Faro and Lisbon all-year round. Major car hire companies (hertz, avis, etc) are also in the airports and everywhere in Algarve and Lisbon! Depending on where you land Lisbon (or Faro) rent there and drive to Lagos. From Faro it is around 40/50 min drive! Go towards Albufeira, Portimão and once in Lagos look for the Marina or Meia-Praia and you'll get there easily! From Faro there are frequent buses to Lagos. There is also taxi service from Faro airport to Lagos.

Lagos and surrounding area:

Close amenities include: The Palmares golf course (1.5 Km). Praia D'Ana beach with picturesque coves and steep seaside cliffs and many other beaches the Algarve is famous for are close-by. If you want to see more of the Algarve you don't have to travel far by car or train to explore other nearby places worth visiting such as Praia De Luz, Portimao, Albufeira and Vila Moura which has a casino. Activities in the area include golf, karting, sailing, jet/water skiing, fishing, wind surfing, para-sailing, boat tours, water theme parks and coastal drives.

There are many places of interest in this historic town of Lagos. There are automatic bank machines everywhere. In the Marina de Lagos visitors will find numerous international restaurants that cater to tourists from all over Europe. A variety of boat tours, yacht hire, and deep sea-fishing outings that can be booked on the spot.

Meia Praia beach is famous for being one of the nicest, longest, white-sand-warm-water beaches in Europe and very popular with families and children.

About 30 km away is Cape St. Vincent, the most westerly point of Europe offering spectacular views of the Atlantic. There, Sagres is known to be the site of Prince Henry's 15th century school of navigation that gave new worlds to the World!
