Our cottage is on the edge of Lower Mill Estate. The rear decking area overlooks the infant river Thames. Two of the bedrooms have views over Mill Lake which is a haven for wildlife.
The cottage has an allocated parking space adjacent to the property for easy loading/unloading.
We have Gigaclear superfast fibre broadband (200Mbps) with a desk and office chair in bedroom 3, making it suitable for remote working.
Lower Mill Estate is a popular holiday retreat for families, particularly those who prefer a peaceful break (stag/hen parties are not allowed). The main attractions are the lakeside walks and wildlife. However, there are plenty of activities available on the Estate such as tennis, swimming pool, boating, cycling, playground, etc.
We are happy for you to bring one well-behaved dog at no extra charge. The nearest walk around Mill Lake is very convenient - about one minute away.
Outside the estate, the nearest pub is the Bakers Arms which is about a 15 minute stroll. Cirencester is only 10 minutes’ drive and has plenty of shops and supermarkets.

Perfect size for myself and two 16 year olds. Two double and a single room. WiFi brilliant kitchen and washing facilities excellent. Check in was easy.
This cottage was lovely and comfortable. It was well equipped with everything we needed and spotlessly clean on arrival. Communications with the owner were excellent with all questions answered promptly.

Everything left beautifully clean and tidy. The perfect guests.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house has everything you need and is clean, tidy and well presented. Location is perfect to enjoy all the available activities… paddle boarding, bike rides, walks, swimming, great on site restaurant and local pubs. Will hopefully return next year!
A wonderful cosy cottage with everything you could need to have a great break away from it all. Pool was great for the kids. Great location too. Only thing to mention as a minor negative was the small deck to the rear of the property which felt alittle claustrophobic..... but hey your on holiday!
Really happy with our stay. All as hoped for. Cottage was very well equipped. Make sure you book well in advance for pool and tennis in the current climate. Fab stay. Thank you heather.

Hi Sally. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay at Lower Mill Estate and made the most of all the facilities. I was also pleased to hear that you were visited by ‘Spikey’, our resident hedgehog. Thank you so much for the wonderful picture of him!

Cosy Cotswold cottage with lake views
Relaxing weekend break in this comfortable well-equipped cottage on the edge of the Lower Mill Estate. Easy access to adjoining lake and other nearby lakes on the wider reserve for good walks and wildlife spotting, and the cottage makes a good base for exploring the wider area (Cirencester and beyond), though there are plenty of facilities and activities available on the well-tended estate too (not used this time). Seating space to the front of the property is a surprisingly secluded sun trap and the decking at the back overlooks the River Thames (not far from its source so quite narrow and gently flowing at this point).
Games, books, DVDs, maps and tourist information available. Effective radiators and warming wood burner. All makes for a cosy home from home.
Lovely little house in the perfect location for a week of paddle boarding, cycling, walks and swimming. Really nice restaurant on site too… highly recommend a stay here.
We have just returned from our break, just before the next lockdown.
The property was lovely and the right size for our family.
It was well stocked and much of what was available wasn’t even mentioned in the listing. Definite bonuses!
We had booked the MUGA court and swimming daily and enjoyed both. Lower Mill felt secure and we were able stay in our own bubble with ease.
The beds were so comfortable, even the bunks (hubby had a little nap there) and having different towels in same shades for each room was a nice touch.
Just what we needed! Thank you!
Beautiful location, we had great weather so was able to take full advantage of the lakes where my daughter was able to do some open water swimming in a safe environment. There are lots of tourist attractions within 30mins. If you are the “outdoorsy type” then this is the place to be. Some restrictions where in place due to Covid but that didn’t stop us having a great time. I would definitely come back again.
Great location, brilliant facilities and the property was well equipped. Found the host very accommodating and the property had many lovely touches to make it welcoming and homely. We would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.
Wonderful location on private child friendly estate
Clean and well located on stunning family friendly private estate. I wanted to score 3.5 stars - come on Home Away 1/2 stars. Please. It was perfectly pleasant. There were 5 of us and it was half term - so prices are higher at this time but with that proviso it did feel a bit cramped and a bit expensive.
