About the host
Hosted by Carolyn Thompson
I moved to France to live permanently in 2016 with my husband Jerry and our Working Cocker Spaniel Inca. It's hard not to fall in love with this area. We had explored this region on holiday when our children were very young and again 20 years later when they were all grown up. Our attraction for the Perigord Noir had never diminished and so now we find ourselves living our own little dream and having a French adventure.
Le Peyruzel is a very special spot, it remains very unspoiled and operates as a working farming community, crops here are mainly Walnut groves, but also wheat, barley, hay, maize, and sunflowers too. Our properties sit nestled on the slopes of the hamlet and enjoy the most amazing views across the Ceou valley and beyond. The properties are about 200 years old and formed a cluster of ancient farm buildings, they have been lovingly restored from dereliction by the previous owners over a period of 20 years and have operated as gites for many years. A brand new pool built into the slope has been created by us in summer 2016 and this now benefits from being heated from May though to October has been a most welcome addition to the property

Why they chose this property
The thing that sold this property to us was the character of the buildings themselves, the quality of their renovation and the views. When you drive in you just feel peaceful, relaxed and at home.... it’s as simple as that!
What makes this property unique
Location, location, location….to be in such a perfect spot and yet so close to so many of the regions gems it what makes Le Peyruzel a special place.
