Happy holidays

A lovely place to stay everything needed was at hand. Quiet and very comfortable. Watching the wild life one of the best times of the day.

As good as it was last year.

We stayed at the Saltings last October and when the chance came to have a holiday in the spring we decided to see it at a different season. We weren’t disappointed although the weather could have been better. The view from the house across the salt marsh is amazing, particularly at sunset. The location could hardly be better for walking across the marsh. In Blakeney you can buy seafood from the trailer in the quayside car park and “The moorings” is an excellent fish restaurant.. Holt nearby is a good place for shopping on a wet day.

Enjoyable stay but a few issues

It could have been a bit cleaner there were finger marks on the big window and we had to sweep the decking and clean the patio table. We had the beds made up as a double rather than 2 singles.Usually the join runs from head to toe but with these beds it ran across the bed. The bottom mattress was lower than the top and as you were sleeping over the gap it wasnt very comfortable. The holiday was spoilt somewhat by the fact that the adjoining house was being re-roofed with new insulation and roof slats. Whilst the workers were considerate as they could be but with the the style of the roof they were working at times only a few feet from your head and there was no privacy between the hours of 8.30 and 4.00pm from Monday to Thursday . When we contacted Norfolk Hideaways they explained that the neighbours were absent and had not informed the owners of the work. They promptly offered us £100 compensation which we accepted. Would recommend the property if you plan to use the 2 beds as singles

Brilliant stay

The Saltings had everything we could wish for, all the amenities, comfortable beds, superb view, we even managed to sit out on the beautiful terrace a couple of the days even though it was March! Highly recommend the house and Blakeney Couldn't of wished for anything more!

A fine place to stay

We much enjoyed staying at the Saltings. It was very well equipped and in a brilliant location. We loved being able to just walk out of the house onto the coastal footpath in both directions as well as being within very easy reach of everything in Blakeney! It would be useful to have instructions for the oven and the bed in the second bedroom is not ideal because it is a type of sofabed, but these were minor inconveniences.

Beautiful location, comfortable house needing attention to detail

It is an excellent property in a wonderful position. However, a few things need repair/attention: The light over the mirror in the upstairs bathroom is not working. The toilet roll holder in the same bathroom is broken and needs replacing. The drawer cover shelf in the fridge is broken and needs replacing. We requested that the twins were made up as a (super) king. This was done however the mattresses were horizontal instead of vertical (probably because they might not otherwise fit into this room?) and the sheets used were two fitted singles. As a result we had to get up several times a night to ensure we didn’t fall down the extending gap! If the mattresses have to be in that direction, they need a super king mattress cover and super king sheet assuming they can’t be zipped together, to keep them in place. Otherwise a beautifully located house in good condition with a well-equipped kitchen and fantastic views.

Amazing views

We loved the situation looking out over the marsh. The position of the house is brilliant because you are near to the shops and village but still quiet. Overall the house is comfortable and the beds are excellent although we felt it would be a tight fit for six adults. We hope to visit again. Some small matters needed attention.. The water pressure in the downstairs shower is too high for comfort. The silicone around the window frame in the master bedroom is inadequate. We were there in a gale and the room became cold and draughty.and noisy. There are no operating instructions for the oven which makes it difficult to use unless you are familiar with the brand. The toilet roll holder in the bathroom had been broken for some time, There were three broken corkscrews in the kitchen drawer but no working one.

Third visit to the Saltings

This was our third visit to 3 The Saltings. The main attraction of the property is the position within the village with excellent views over the marsh. Car parking is also easy. Despite the positives there were a few niggly issues from our visit. 1. Despite booking for 6 people not all the beds were made up. 2. The element in the top oven was loose and hanging down. This was definitely a health and safety issue and was reported at the beginning of the holiday. It was not fixed during our stay but hopefully will have been resolved for future guests. 3. The kitchen pedal bin was broken and needed manually opening each time. 4. The iron leaked and the ironing board was unstable. We would return to the property and would recommend to others if we could be assured that equipment is regularly checked.

Room with a view

As long-standing visitors to the area, we were delighted to find The Saltings - just the right property in the right setting for us, with the rare attribute of a view across the saltmarsh to Blakeney Point. This is emphasized with the layout of the property, with the living room at the top of the house, and a big picture window to take maximum advantage of it. We normally visit in the winter, when the geese and other migratory birds arrive, but due to the pandemic, our initial booking was cancelled. Our thanks to Norfolk Hideaways who rebooked us (twice!) to an unaccustomed summer trip.

Nearly Perfect

Very comfortable house, great location, great to see all the wildlife in the garden & very well equipped inside. The day bed was great to sleep in & the lovely soft down bedding made for a great nights sleep. A few cobwebs in the kitchen and bedroom & didn't expect to find stains on the sheet or the hair on the sheet in the 2nd double room. Would be more comfy if the sheets actually fitted. I presume we paid the same price as if we had received a welcome pack? These little issues can very easily be ironed out & we look forward to booking again in the near future.

Good position

The only downside, we thought the bed was too big for the bedroom which leads onto the decking. However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there,

Amazing views in fantastic location.

This lovely house is in a perfect location, overlooking the marshes of Blakeney. You can stroll out of the door and straight onto the footpath and walk or jog for miles. It is a stone's throw from the quayside and the hub of the village, yet tucked away with parking, which is a great benefit. The house is very well equipped and very well maintained. It was our second visit here and we still loved it just as much. Our 2 boys loved crabbing every day and getting their hot chocolate from the Seal Point Cafe with a gorgeous home made brownie. We would thoroughly recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay along the North Norfolk Coast.

Fine

A great location and generally fine. The twin beds in one room were very uncomfortable. The dining table in the kitchen ostensibly seats 6. We struggled to get 5 around it for breakfast. The table is fine but the kitchen where it resides is too small for a table of that size. Seating in the lounge is tight for 5 and impossible for six.

Stayed at the Saltings for three nights in June. Whilst a little tired around the edges it was pleasantly furnishe. Best of all quality bedding! Quiet location with lovely views over the marshes.
