This property was listed as a single story house. It has 18 steps to get down to the living room, whichAppears to be the basement. This is also where the second bathroom is located and laundry. So there is only kitchen table and chairs on the main level for furniture to sit. Also one TV, which is down the 18 steps to the lower level. The floors were clean. But you could see were someone else had slept on the bed. The bedding Was not clean. So we washed the sheets before using them and purchased a new mattress pad atWalmart in Rice Lake to put on the bed so we could use it because the one on the bed was soiled. Some dishes in the cupboards were put away dirty. The view was beautiful. But there are 40 steep steps to go down to fish. I did message the host about the fact that it was advertised as a one level. Didn’t get anywhere on that. This was a getaway for our anniversary. I did contact Vrbo. So hopefully this changes. I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else.
The cabin was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay! Check in went very well. They didn’t have guests before or after us, so they offered early check in and late check out. We would book again!
We spent 6 nights relaxing in this quaint cabin. We had fun visiting fun shops, cooking on the fire, and taking in the scenery on our boat rides. We had a very nice getaway.
Great cabin and location. Cabin is clean and beds comfortable. Owners have excellent communication and are very responsive to any questions. Loved that the cabin has two full bathrooms with a washer and dryer. Loved the dock and deck. Very private.
Janell and Kevin were very kind hosts, they live next door to the cabin and you share a driveway, but would never know they were there. Kevin even let us borrow 3 of his fishing poles. We had 7 adults and 2 dogs and none of us felt cramped, more than enough room for all of us. The cabin was extremely well stocked as well. We also brought our boat and we were able to park the trailer at the property, along with 4 cars. The deck was large, and again all 7 of us plus 2 dogs did not feel crammed. Its nice to sit and look at the lake from the deck, as well as the fire pit, which was stocked with plenty of wood for us to use. The pier was nice to dock our boat to, and sat for the entire week. You can swim off the pier, however, there is no way to get out of the water without access to a ladder or plank on your boat. The shore line is wooded and the bottom is rocky. There is a small island across the lake that is more sandy and shallow for swimming or just hanging out. We also had access to the hose which was nice for washing off the boat and paddleboards. Chetek is a cute little town with tons to do and see, Rice Lake is just 15 minutes away if you need something bigger. The only thing we wished is that we had more space down by the water and had access to get in and out along the shoreline.... we made it work, not a deal breaker at all. We would definitely come again, and would recommend staying at this beautiful cabin

I would highly recommend renting to this group to anyone!! For such a big group, and having two dogs, they left the cabin in very nice condition when they left! That was awesome!! Only time we heard them was their laughter and having a great time! It was nice to hear them enjoying the cabin so much! No issues with them whatsoever and were super renters!!
Perfect lake access, comfortable place with great balcony, nice basement area. Loved the fire pit out back by the lake and the front yard for lawn games. Air conditioning worked perfectly during a very hot July 4th weekend. Hosts were above and beyond friendly and communicative.
This is a very nice property and location with plenty of room to spread out. The cabin was spotless. In addition, communication with the owner was top notch.
It was a wonderful experience! Right on the lake. It was a very relaxing time. Plenty of space for us and all the cooking utensils and supplies we needed. Very accommodating with our dogs. Will definitely be staying here again.

Clean and quiet, easy to pick up after yourself! We had thunderstorms come through and you couldn’t really hear them inside the house. Definitely would recommend this to others.

Great renters! Left the property very clean and we had no issues whatsoever! Would love to rent to them again anytime!!
This is a very nice updated 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in Chetek along the water. Very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glassware, very nice pans and a large refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen knives provided were the best I have seen in all the places we have stayed. Great fire pit which we enjoyed every night of our 9 night stay. Loved the deck overlooking the water. Sunny in the mornings and shady all afternoon. The owner is VERY responsive on any question or issue you may have. We were very happy with our stay here!

Glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for leaving the cabin in such great condition when you left! I appreciate that! Would happily rent to you in the future!! Janell :)
The cabin is beautiful. We found the kitchen to be short a few necessary things for us that cook. A set of kitchen knives, a roasting pan, microwavable containers, and sauce pans with lids that are big enough to cook veggies in would be great. The basement tends to be cold. Parents with very young children need to bring a pack and play for the child to sleep in. And be prepared for lots of steps!
Quiet location on a wooded lot with the owners next door. It's a cute cabin and looked presentable until we actually started to make ourselves at home. Then the cleanliness was an issue for us. For example the base of the upstairs toilet was covered in dirt, there were what appeared to be toothpaste spots on the backsplash, there was grease on the microwave and the side of the refrigerator, the drawers which held utensils and pots and pans had food particles in them, and the interior of the dishwasher had food in it.. We took it upon ourselves to clean these items so that we would be more comfortable using them. The owners were easy to reach out to and great with communication. With a thorough cleaning, this would be a fantastic place. Wonderful, peaceful location close to town.
This was a great place to stay for the weekend. We booked this place for a fishing trip on the chain of lakes in Chetek. The communication from Janell and Kevin was great, and they were very helpful throughout the entire trip. There was even a point where I needed to repair my trailer, and they let me borrow a few tools which I was appreciated very much. They are some of the best hosts Ive experienced with VRBO.They have a dock right down on the water which made it super easy for fishing as we left the boat on the water the entire time without having to trailer it each day. There are a few steps to get down to the dock as the property is higher up on a hill from the water, but didnt bother us at all. The house was very cozy, and had plenty of room for the 3 of us. Both the beds and futons were suprisingly comfortable. We had no issues with space around the property both in and out. The house is located about 10-15 minutes north of Chetek, and 20-25 minutes south of Rice Lake, so while its outside of town, it is conveniently located between both areas in case you need to run to the store, get food, etc.To top all of this, the weather and fishing was perfect and we caught tons of fish (bass), so that really added to our expierence!Overall, this was a great property and definitely plan on staying here in the future!
Wonderful place! Clean, cozy, private and relaxing! Loved that it was dog friendly our dog had the best time running around! Responsive and friendly host! Would highly recommend to any one especially for the 4th of July!
We decided to make a last minute trip to see family and we’re able to book this cabin. It was beautiful! Very clean, great access to the lake and the owners were very nice. Definitely would stay here again. Thank you!!
Great location for the area we wanted see. Chetek and Rice lake and Cameron. The Pioneer Village was awesome. The deck overlooking the lake was great. Janell and family are great hosts. The only reason , slightly lower on cleaning was dog hair on pillows in lower area. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thanks you much.
