Great Keswick stay

What a great place to stay in Keswick. Fantastic location right in the centre. Beautiful flat with absolutely everything you could require for a comfortable stay and what a bonus to have a super view over the rooftops to the hills beyond. The only slight issue may be the narrow alley that leads to it, which can be difficult to maneuver if vehicles park opposite which happened a few times. But that being said, there is so much to see and do around the area you could easily leave the car and use the bus or walk most of the time. We would definitely love to come back.

Payment problems

I booked a Sykes cottage in England. When paying the second half their link didn’t work. When I contacted vrbo the staff tried to help (numerous phone calls) they were unsuccessful. I asked to just pay vrbo but they said they couldn’t. Don’t understand this as vrbo is who I paid the first half. This created a lot of stress. I asked for a manager to call and never received a call.

Comfortable apartment but terrible communication

The flat was very well equipped and comfortable. The location is excellent-- around the corner from shops and pubs. We would have appreciated printed instructions for using the various appliances and getting connected to the internet. Also, the description should make it clear that the flat may not be suitable for tall people due to low ceilings. However, we were very frustrated with our inability to communicate with the local rental office staff. On our second day there, the shower stopped working. The rental instructions said that we could contact the rental office staff through an app or through the website, but both attempts resulted in error messages. We called the phone numbers listed and couldn't get through; had to wait for a call back. Finally got a call and reported the problem, but the person we spoke with was in a central office, not the local office. He said he'd call for maintenance. Two hours later, no one had come so we ran down the street to the local office to get there before they closed. They kindly called maintenance for us, and maintenance said they had heard nothing about it. The maintenance man came promptly when he got the message and fixed the problem quickly, but it was extremely frustrating not to be able to reach the local office staff without going down there, which is difficult when one has undressed to take a shower. The local office staff were very kind and helpful, but the communication arrangement is completely unacceptable.

Great flat and location

This flat has spacious open concept living,dining,kitchen-and two good size bedrooms plus a modern bath. Very centrally located in Keswick- we were there over Christmas and they’d decorated with a tree and other ornaments. Highly recommended
