This cabin is indeed secluded yet it is relatively convenient to Jasper and many area attractions. Our time there was peaceful and quiet and we loved the forest views from the big windows in the main floor living space and upstairs bedroom area. This was home base for us for a week of hiking in the Ozark National Forest and Buffalo National River. Having 2 bathrooms is a nice feature and there were plenty of good quality bath towels. The place could have used a good spring cleaning. It seemed like it had been closed up for a while and just needed top to bottom sweeping, vacuuming and dusting, including the screen porch. As other reviewers have mentioned the upstairs bed was comfortable enough but is very loud when you move around on it. The place could also use some furniture updates - less furniture overall and a few more comfortable pieces.

Wonderful stay!

Needed a place to shut down for awhile and we couldn't have found a better place! Close to The Lost Valley and Smith creek Preserve... yet the cabin is quiet and secluded. It was exactly what we were looking for.

The location is great for climbing, but the small road is hard for Google maps to find, so follow the provided instructions. It's an easy driveway to miss. It's very secluded which is nice, but there was a lot of poison ivy.The cabin felt like a storage place for antique furniture. The queen bed makes more noise than a screen door in a hurricane. The pullout bed is broken. Personally, I found the queen mattress to be too soft. The cabin had been tidied, but wasn't clean. There was a mouse nest on the pullout bed and mice had been chewing on the silverware caddy. We started the trip by running the dishwasher. The room with the queen bed is a lofted room and open to the downstairs. The cabin might sleep 4, but there are only two dining room chairs. It wasn't terrible, but we were disappointed and left a night early.

Secluded and tranquil

These was such a perfect place to spend a weekend and it had all the touches of home. Enjoyed having the option to grill or use the fire pit, tons of trees surrounding the property - perfect to throw a hammock up and enjoy the sounds of nature!

Nice cabin and setting

Very nice secluded place to stay. The cabin was clean and cozy. The screened in porch was nice to sit in and drink coffee and watch the deer. Plenty of towels and extra linens and pillows. The bed was comfy as well. We will hopefully stay here again!

Perfect Ozark retreat

This is a great place. It’s perfectly situated between Ponca and Jasper and just uphill from Kyle’s Landing. Lots of wildlife! We watched and listened to barred owls from the screened-in porch. Far enough off the highway to feel secluded too.

Beautiful secluded location

Spent four nights here while in town for a dirt bike race, and me and my family really enjoyed our stay. The cabin had everything we needed, AC worked well and the location was great. Jasper is just down the road for groceries or food, and there are so many hiking trails and amazing waterfalls within a 30 minute drive of the cabin, including Hammerschmidt Falls which is literally just a mile and half down the road.

Hikers

We came to do some hiking in the Ozarks and simply get away for a bit, and catch up. This cabin is exactly what it appears to be and is super convenient to town and hiking trails. The fire pit was a nice respite in the evenings. Just loved everything about this property.

Lovely and secluded

I booked this property for my parents and they absolutely loved it. It was well appointed and secluded. Deer grazed in the yard in the mornings. The host was was super easy to contact and helped them navigate the directions. My parents had an incredible time.

Better than listed.

Honestly from the pictures I kind of expected an older, dumpier cabin. This place was great. Love it.

Cozy little cabin in the woods

Very private, secluded cabin - beautiful setting in the woods w/two little streams running along either side. It was cold when we were there - we appreciated all the extra blankets and the little electric fireplace...so peaceful sitting by that warmth and looking out the big picture windows! Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing break!!
