Atlantic coast and lake - Bordeaux (40mins) and Biarrtiz (90 mins)
Newly built house on quiet cul de sac in Sanguinet. The house has 4 double bedrooms, 1 main bathroom, 1 en-suite and 1 WC. The lounge, dining and kitchen are open plan and there is a wood burner for winter lets. The house over looks local tennis and rugby clubs and is surrounded by natural woodland. There are 2 outside seating areas on the terrace (side and back) so plenty of space for everyone. A large outdoor BBQ is just off the terrace. There is a pool which is secure from small children.
It is a 2 min walk to the sandy beaches on the beautiful freshwater lake, which is warm and shallow around the edges, ideal for swimming
Also, a 2 min walk into the village of Sanguinet which has a good sized supermarket, 2 bakers, post office, doctor, chemist and five restaurants – 3 of which are on the lakeside.

This area really will appeal to all ages, whether you are searching for lots of activity or just want to laze in the sunshine.
On the lake you can hire windsurfers, sailing boats (lessons/sail school are also available at the sailing school), paddle boats, water skis or take your own (power boats are subject to a weekly charge) - every conceivable type of water activity is on the doorstep
There are 3 slipways which are free, and there is space to store your boat on the side of the house.
The ocean surfing beaches at Biscarrosse Plage are approximately 15 minutes drive away, where surf schools are available.
The dune de Pilat is a 20 min drive and gives amazing views over the Basson D'Arcachon..well worth the many steps to the top!
For the more adventurous there are many local activities inc horse riding, river canoeing, archery, high ropes adventure, water park etc.
There is a specially constructed cycle track around the lake, and many cycle paths through the forests as well as long rides for serious cyclists.
You can eat oysters in Arcachon, and taste the wine in St Emilion and the Medoc. Sample the shopping in historic Bordeaux, (a UNESCO World Heritage site) with its newly pedestrianised streets, and magnificent floodlit architecture provides the more cultural attractions. To the south lie the surfing beaches of Mimizan Plage ; Biarritz, with its associations with the 1930's jet set; and picturesque St. Jean de Luz. Or you could pop over the border to Spain, and visit beautiful San Sebastien, the capitol of the Basque country.
