Disappointing

This is our sixth time visiting Portugal and have always had great experiences with Owners Direct and HomeAway until now. Good Points, great location, safe and secure, nice pool area but pool could do with more daily cleaning attention. When the owner showed up to let us in all she was concerned about was taking our passport details and what time we were leaving on day of departure. There was no information given regarding anything, how to access pool, where sun loungers were etc. not even a guide to local area or amenities which is a first. No nice small touches at all, welcome pack, tea/coffee in fact fridge wasn’t even turned on which took several hours to bring to temperature. Unfortunately the apartment receives no direct sun light at any time of day and we actually had to turn the lights on during the day in the sitting room. Mid-week we sent a text requesting a hair dryer which was listed as available and mention that A/C in bedroom was not working correctly. We never received a hairdryer and got no response regarding the A/C and as the temperature was 30/31 all week we had to sleep in the sitting room for most of our holiday. On check out a Gentleman came to collect keys and we were not even asked if everything was ok. In our opinion this is one to avoid compared to the excellent accommodation and customer care out there. Very much money grabbing accommodation with no care for guest on holiday.
