Set in a tranquil location perfect for holidays or mini-breaks, the property backs onto the Chewton Bunny nature reserve with adjacent footpath and easy 5 minute stroll through the Bunny to the beautiful award winning Highcliffe beach with its numerous promenades and cliff side paths to explore. The beach is also ideal for bathing, body-boarding and surfing and has lifeguards during July and August. The excellent Cliffhanger Cafe sits at alongside the beach, or watch the sun go down over the water at local cliff top bars/restaurants.
This large two bedroom, two bathroom bungalow has ample space and is well equipped for a comfortable stay. The en-suite master bedroom has a king size bed and bedroom two has two single beds (can be pushed together or split). The comfortable lounge has a 43inch TV with talktalk tv. The dining room has double patio door opening onto the enclosed private rear garden. The garden has a large decking area with gas BBQ and table/chairs for outside dining. With beautiful hydrangeas and flowering pots the garden is a delight all year round and is visited daily by many wild birds including nuthatches and woodpeckers. Also watch out for bunny's on the front lawn!

Highcliffe High Street is a short walk providing a great range of food shops (co-op and Tesco), chemists, bars, cafes, restaurants, butchers, bakers, deli, wonderful fresh fish stall (Saturday morning), pharmacy, medical centre etc. or travel a couple of miles to a multitude of large supermarkets and services around New Milton and Christchurch (Waitrose, Sainsbury, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl all within 10mins).

Within a ten minute drive you can visit Christchurch with its historic Priory and Monday market, Highcliffe Castle and tea rooms, Friars Cliff Beach and Avon Beach. Mudeford is also excellent for crabbing off the quay, fishing trips or speed boat hire/rides. The Mudeford small ferry will also take you the 200m (dogs allowed) across to Mudeford Sands/Hengistbury Head. Just a couple of miles from the house you can also venture into the New Forest with its quaint villages, cycling and walking paths, golf courses and of course the New Forest ponies. Adventure Wonderland, Lymington famous for its sailing (also Ferry to Isle of Wight), Exbury Gardens with its steam railway, Beaulieu and Bournemouth are also great places to visit.

If you fancy spoiling yourself or for a special occasion wander up the road the to 5 star luxury Chewton Glen Country House and Spa.

A 10 minute walk to Highcliffe beach (stony beach) and a further 20 minute walk to Highcliffe Castle beach (sandy). We spent hours walking along the beautiful coast with the dog. The house has everything you need (and more!), it is clean but, in my opinion, a bit tired looking. Extremely comfortable beds and sofas! Loved watching the birds feeding in the garden from the warmth of the cosy interior sun lounge area.

Home from home
This was genuinely like coming into someone’s home, who just happened not to be there. There was milk in the fridge, teas and coffee, condiments and spices - and all the usual towels etc left out. We felt truly at home, and relaxed from the first minutes.

Just what we needed!
Helen's bungalow delivers on all counts. It's well positioned (close to the beaches, the sea, shops, restaurants, etc), well equipped and has a lovely patio and enclosed rear garden. There was plenty of hot water for baths and showers and the central heating and gas fire were both used to ensure our stay was comfortable and warm, despite some cooler weather outside (well, it was November). Our drive down from inside the M25 was straightforward and we saw loads of wild ponies as we came through the new forest en-route. I am sure we will return!

Originally from Southampton, my husband and I worked in the Midlands for many years but have at last made it back to the south coast. We live approximately one mile from the bungalow and am on hand if needed. This property was rented for the first time in 2018 and continues to receive excellent reviews and many repeat bookings.

Why they chose this property

I love being able to just park up and walk to the beach and shops with everything I need within a 10 minutes. I also enjoy walking along the beach to Mudeford Quay (45mins) stopping off for a coffee or glass of wine along the way or for afternoon tea at Highcliffe Castle where there is often weekend events/entertainment. I enjoy cycling and the New Forest is just great.

On a summers evening there is nothing better than sitting in a cliff top bar watching the sun go down. The Cliff House at Barton on Sea is my favourite spot late afternoon.

I have also used Hinton Admiral station (1.5miles away) to commute to Waterloo in 1hr50m

What makes this property unique

Backing onto the Chewton Bunny Nature reserve the garden is visited daily by a variety of birds including woodpeckers and nuthatch and also the occasional bunny. Very tranquil and private but easy access to the beach and shops.
