About this property
Polden Cottage Beautiful retreat near Cheddar and Glastonbury
Newly Refurbished set in open countryside, perfect getaway for couples.
Lovely one bedroom cottage sitting in the heart of the Somerset levels, recently refurbished to a high standard and is the ideal base for exploring Somerset. Set among open fields, fishing lakes and Nature reserves, this is the perfect peaceful location to escape for a restful week or short break.
The cottage has double glazing and central heating so is cosy in winter. The cottage's rural location is ideal for watching the sun set over the levels.
All utility costs are included, along with towels and bedding. There is free wi-fi in the property for internet access, and the TV has freeview channels.
The accommodation comprises :
Kitchen / Diner : Full sized kitchen with integrated oven and hob, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. Dining table with seating for two.
Lounge Area : Flat screen TV with freeview channels, two 2-seater settees
Bedroom 1 : Spacious bedroom with a four poster Queen size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and furniture. Space for travel cot if required.
Shower Room with toilet and sink
Outside : Unlimited parking adjacent to the property. The cottage has a small private fenced patio area to the front, with a table, chairs and swing seat.
Pets : One dog is accepted for holidaying at this property but please advise me in advance.
THE SOMERSET LEVELS
Polden Cottage is in the village of Burtle, which is situated within working farms, horse riding stables, peat farms and fishing lakes. The next village two miles away (Edington) has a licenced 'Spar' shop, Post office, Doctors, and local pub serving food.
Nature Reserves within 5 miles : Shapwick Heath, Ham Wall and Westhay Moor. The area is famous for the Starling autumn "murmurations" and fields of wintering swans
Cycling and Walking : On your doorstep, miles and miles of open countryside and level roads to walk or bike along
Fishing within 5 miles : Burtle Road Ponds, Emerald Pool Hibridge
Places to visit within 30 minutes drive : Clarks Retail Outlet at Street, Glastonbury Tor and Abbey, Roger Wilkins Cider Farm (as visited by a brave Jamie Oliver), Burnham on Sea, Weston super Mare, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Wells Cathedral and city, Yeovil Air Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Ebbor Gorge, Helicopter Museum
