The host was easy to get ahold of and communicated everything well. There was some construction going on on the deck that we didn’t know about but we met the guy doing the work and he was cool and told us best times to fish and let us use his bikes when we wanted. The first night the power went out for about 3 hours because of storms but the host kept us updated on the outage times. The stay was nice and it was a close drive to most everything. We enjoyed Tybee and will be back and will probably try to stay here again.
Jimmy was a fantastic host who always answered our questions and calls in a timely manner. Our stay was beautiful and we enjoyed lounging on the porch and looking at the water so much. Truly loved the stay and would definitely book again! Great location too!
I enjoyed my stay at the pelican condo because of the views from the decks and being close to both Tybee Island and Savanna. Jimmy was always available to answer any of my questions. The condo has all the features I needed. Thanks Jimmy.
Clean, relaxing place to stay. I fished from the dock and also watched the shore birds hunting for crabs as the tide went out. I would stay here again.
The Pelican Condo was a perfect getaway - close to the beach as well as downtown Savanah! And the condo had everything we needed to just relax. We’ll definitely be back!
The location is great for both trips into Savannah and other area islands. Tybee beaches are a short drive away but be prepared to pay for parking everywhere on Tybee. We had lots of downtime and really enjoyed the covered deck and watching the birds on Chimney Creek.
Very nice. Some attention to smaller details would make a nicer impression. Good value. Love watching the tide come and go!

Overall the place was decent and we had a good stay, but there are a few things future guests should know. When we got back from a rugby game we couldn’t get the shower water to run. The host later explained that you have to pull the hot/cold knob outward for the water to turn on, which wasn’t obvious and there wasn’t a sign explaining it.Also be careful stepping in and out of the tub because it’s very high. The property could use a few small updates, and there were a couple weak spots in the floor. The tide also comes in and out a lot, so fishing wasn’t really an option while we were there.Overall it’s about what you’d expect for the price, and with a few updates and clearer instructions it could be an even better stay.

Thanks to this guest for staying with us and for pointing out a few things. The weak spot at the front entrance has been repaired. The tides at Tybee Island rise and fall 8’ twice per day. At high tide, we have about 7-8’ of water and at low tide, we have none so you have to time your backyard fishing plans. I recommend to most fishermen to try the three public piers within a few miles for the best luck. As for the shower handle, you are right. It is different than most shower handles that look the same, and we need a sign. This is the most common question that I receive. I will add this to the check in info. Jimmy
Wonderful location. Nice and clean. Comfortable bed and sheets. Nice to have two sofas and so many Channel options on the TV as well as Netflix and Amazon prime. Nice back porch with view of the river. Very responsive and friendly host. Good kitchen. Also nice to have two bathrooms. Owner plans to make some needed cosmetic updates to the bathroom. But it was perfectly adequate. Would definitely go back again!
Communication with Jimmy was great right from the start. He answered my pre-booking questions quickly and his instructions for check in and out are very clear. The apartment is very spacious and clean. The deck is nice for lounging. Plenty of parking for our 18’ boat, two refrigerators, tons of bath and beach towels, beach chairs, bed was very comfortable, kitchen is well stocked and the sofas and TV are new from the pictures. Crab Shack restaurant has yummy food and drinks plus you can meet the locals. Jimmy mentioned the kitchen is being renovated this fall which will make the place perfect. We would definitely rent here again,
We enjoyed our stay at the Pelican. The condo is exactly as pictured, there were no surprises. I imagine as the condo is updated the rates will go up. The host was quick to respond to my questions.
When we were not Pirating, I spent most of my time on the balcony enjoying the view! If you kayak this is the perfect place to do so.

About the host
Hosted by Jimmy Edwards
Welcome to Tybee Island! I am a proud native Savannah-ian! Savannah and Tybee Island have grown and changed a lot over the years, all for the better! When I was a kid, they called this Savannah Beach! When my mom was younger, they held dances on the pavilion, which has since burned and has now been replaced by the Tybee Pier and Pavilion. Savannah was established in 1733, so there is much history to be found in our beautiful downtown too! I am continuing the family tradition with my wife and two sons (8 and 17 months) by ensuring they enjoy the benefits of coastal living too. The photo of me and my son were taken on the Back River at Tybee.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property as a second home and investment property in 2004. We began renting the Tybee Island Pelican Drive house last year (2013) with great success and have expanded that to both downstairs units this year. This house is used by our family, and we enjoy it quite a bit. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
The Pelican house is true Tybee living at its best. The house is backed by Chimney Creek, a tidal creek. The creek has six feet of water at high tide and goes completely dry at low tide, exhibiting the extreme tide changes that we experience at Tybee. You can fish and crab out of your back door or just enjoy the sun on the secluded floating dock. Out of the front door, you have the beautiful marsh and coastal winds 24 hours a day.
