Quiet cottage in a great location

My third stay at 2 Museum Cottages. A nice quiet location, ideally situated for everything in Sheringham. There is no parking at the property but there is lots of street parking nearby, no need to pay for parking. The cottage is small but has everything you need for a few days stay, beware of the sensitive smoke detector in the kitchen area!

Great location, Value for money

I stayed at 2 Museum Cottages for a week whilst performing at Sheringham Little Theatre a short walk away. The place was clean, comfortable and caters well for one or two people. The kitchen was well equipped and there were no issues with our stay. May not be suitable for those with mobility issues due to the narrow, steep staircase and small nature of the property. We parked in Morris Street Car Park a short walk away with no issues.

Nice little cottage

Lovely and cosy little cottage, just right for our stay. Great facilities and well stocked with all you need (except kettle descaler!). It is a nicely presented, neat and comfortable. Could do with a couple of hooks perhaps on the side of the fridge for the tea towels in the kitchen area and a lamp around the settee / telly area would be a nice alternative to the bright ceiling lights and also a blind at the bathroom window would be good. The neighbours opposite could do with being asked to be a little more considerate by not keeping their flood lights on all night and to stop slamming their gate every time they go through it (which is a lot).

Cute but basic

Cute, tiny cottage, perfectly located for shops and beach. It's basic but perfect for a single or couple who don't expect anything fancy. Also dog friendly which is a must for me.

Birding on the Norfolk Coast

Sheringham is a great base for fantastic birding along the coast. 2 Museum Cottages is a lovely quiet place to stay, although in the town centre. This time of year the cottage is a bit dark, but would be more cheery in the summer. Although small, the cottage has everything you need for a great stay.

Excellent location if totally reliant on public transport

I am as above and a Solo traveler. I walked from cottage every day through choice to avoid pre Christmas madness. Hence why I book in Sheringham at this time because you can enjoy a real taste of the coast and countryside. Only downside to this is it’s always the Santa special. An expensive trip to Holt but the bus can be busy too and you hit the same congestion. If you are fortunate enough to have a car then the coast is your oyster but I find it quite sad that you can easily miss the beauty of Sheringham as a result. Location wise you are living in a working environment and as such respect that locals are living their normal daily life. If you are in doubt regarding noise, access and safety on stairs etc look elsewhere but personally I feel it’s worth the trade off. Plus fabulous storage heaters and bed - heaven. I never had a problem with toaster all week. Well done to owner for providing and going above and beyond with facilities and cupboards etc everything thought of - thank you

A compact little cottage in a terrific location. Very central but super quiet as tucked away just seconds from the bustling high street. A very easy check in which involved picking up the keys just across the road. It was very well equipped with everything I needed for a week’s stay. Easy to come by train as the station is only 5 minutes walk away as is the the bus stop for the coast hopper service. Great to have WiFi and it worked well. The cottage is dark inside, particularly the ground floor, as the windows are small and look out onto the back fence of the property opposite. It also smells very musty which was mentioned multiple times in the guest book. I’d happily return as it’s in such a convenient location in a wonderful town.

Very sweet mini cottage

Very well located, close to shops and the beach. The place is small but perfect for me and my dog. The bed was SO comfy, and the kitchen well kitted out. The only downside is that it's quite dark and gloomy downstairs, it could be made cosy with a few minor touches. It's a cute cottage and very peaceful, in a traffic free, quiet lane. I liked it a lot.
