About the host
Hosted by Beatrice
Hello, I'm Beatrice, 51 years old.
Me and my family: my husband Massimo, my two sons Matteo 19 and Giulia 14 years, Max the dog and two cats, we all live at Il Vichiaccio.
I studied Fashion Design at Polimoda in Florence. I worked for over 20 years as Designer and Product manager for an international sportswear's company.
My passion are books and Iyengar yoga! I would go every day to the movies. I love DIY and everything about manual creativity. I come from a traditional family and I learned to cook as a child. I know all the traditional Tuscan recipes. Obviously all these passions are an excuse to fill the house with books.
2012 all my life as changed: I started to be an host. You may wonder why? I do not know if you can call a series of unfortunate events, but I ended up traveling for work and now I guess the turning of the seasons by the changing colors of the vineyard.
Il Vichiaccio was a dream for my husband and me: a place where to live and grow our children's surrounded by vineyards as if we lived in an everlasting holiday.

Why they chose this property
We felt in love with this very old typical Tuscan stone house in 2000. After about 8 years of restoration, we started to host. We furnished the house and all the external in the typical authentic Tuscan style, finding the furniture and objects in the antique markets. We chose each piece with passion, from the stones to the terracotta tiles of the floors, doors and wardrobes and iron beds.
We wanted this place to become welcoming to us, for our friends and guests. We like to think that those who come to the Vichiaccio arrive as a guest and leave us as a friend.

What makes this property unique
The Vichiaccio Villa is located among the vineyards of the Chianti countryside and was built where once stood the ancient castle of Vicchio, now destroyed. The ruins can still be seen in the woods. The castle was located in a strategic position, on the road called of Strada dei Pecorai ,that in the medieval period was used to move, during winter, flocks of sheep from Pratomagno and Casentino to the Maremma, passing front of the church of Sant'Angelo Vico l’Abate .
The Church contained precious paintings now kept in the Museum of Sacred Art in San Casciano Val di Pesa.
With a short walk through the vineyards you can reach Castello Di Gabbiano, ancient residence of the noble family Soderini and today turned into a a prestigious wine production centre.
In the area is also the Castelli del Grevepesa, a large winery that produces Chianti Classico where you can buy wine at the Enoteca.
There are many restaurants and pizzerias within walking distance or by car.
Mercatale Val di Pesa is the nearest village, which is about 7 kilometers away, where you can go shopping, buy a newspaper, take a coffee and buy typical products of Chianti, as well as finding the bank and the post office,
but if you want in Il Ferrone,2 kilometers from the Vichiaccio, there is a food shop that sells a great bread and delicious meats and cheeses.
San Casciano Val di Pesa is 10 kilometers and is the most important center. Here you can visit the weekly market which takes place on Monday Morning.
Greve in Chianti to 14 kilometers is Considered the gateway to the Chianti region with its funnel-shaped Piazza Matteotti, surrounded by arcades with small shops selling local products and reataurants.
Impruneta 8 kilometers is famous for its terracotta.
