'The Cider Barn' nestles in 5 acres of landscaped grounds, ponds and orchards on the 'Rashleigh' Estate (once home to 'Daphne Du Maurier'). It lies on the Saints Way between the renowned scenic Estuary Town of Fowey and Polkerris Beach, one of the finest, safest beaches on the south coast of Cornwall, both within easy walking distance. You can get a flavour of Polkerris by viewing the youtube videos and indeed other ones of Fowey if you are not familiar with the area.

This ancient Barn recently completed conversion. The renovations have been sympathetic, retaining many original features, yet incorporating the latest modern designs and technology. Internally the property has been be furnished to the highest standard, using predominantly reclaimed timber, fashioned into unique/bespoke pieces.

The ground floor is a spacious open plan design, including a fully equipped modern kitchen, a stunning dining table that comfortably seats 16 and a large lounge surrounding the double aspect wood burning stove. Also on the ground floor is a spacious TV room and Utility room at one end and Double Bedroom 8, with en-suite shower room at the other end. The bespoke open tread staircase rises to the first floor bedrooms. There are 6 double beds. with en-suite shower rooms and a further double bedroom with master bathroom opposite incorporating a free standing bath.

Outside there is a south facing landscaped area with a well equipped outdoor kitchen with wood fired Pizza Oven and Games Room as well as an outdoor shower and various seating and lounging areas. The indoor pool is heated all the year round and located adjacent to the barn with an outdoor Hot Tub. There is a wonderful grass area full of specimen trees and scenic valley views and ample car parking.

We think this is the first 'off grid' conversion property of this size. It is completely self-sustainable. We have our own spring water supply (Great Mineral Water straight from the tap) and we heat all our own hot water (including enough for the 16m long Indoor Heated Pool), produce all our electricity and have installed a state of the art wood burning stove (using all our own wood grown in the grounds), just in case Cornwall's renowned warmth and sunshine should let us down.

PL23 1JU post code will bring you to ‘Four Turnings Garage’ a Texaco Garage…..From the roundabout by the garage, take the A3082 to St Austell.
600 yards up the road the first entrance on your left is the private lane to Trenant next to Penhale Caravan & Camping Park.

The lane is about half a mile long, go right to the end of the lane, passing a farmhouse and cottage on your left, there is a sign saying ‘Trenant Cider Barn’ on the gate.

You can unload at the bottom of the driveway, there is ample parking just inside the main gate.

Family Holiday for 15
The property is beautiful and Graham, the host was so knowledgable about the area. We enjoyed evrry moment. There was plenty of space for everyone and plenty to do. There was no phone reception at the property so if you require that then you may need a back up plan. The wifi worked most of the time so that was useful. Access is a bit precarious being down a single track road with lots of overgrown bushes etc but we just beeped out horns to alert others to our presence and all was fine. All in all, one of the most enjoyable family holidays that we have had in a long time. We would definitely recommend to others.

The property was wonderful and the owners were very helpful and always available if required. Unfortunately the only access was down a very narrow and long single track road with only a few passing places, which on a number of occasions caused difficulties.
