Elegant and spacious, well-furnished apartment with 3 terraces, WiFi-free
Elegant, quiet and very spacious apartment, with large living room well furnished with partially antique furniture and paintings, enriched by a veranda with beautiful view, two bedrooms with two luxurious bathrooms, complete with toilet, sink, bidet, shower, terrace with table and chairs. Each room overlooks a balcony, including the kitchen, habitable. The finishes are valuable. TV and free extra-fast Wi-Fi; air conditionig -heat pump in the dining room and air conditioning in the second bedroom. For more than four-five persons we can open a rhird bathroom, with shower and bathtube. There is a foam fire extinguisher and a gas detector in the kitchen. The apartment is located on the hill Gianicolo, between Trastevere and Vatican city, reachable on foot or by a short bus ride (44, 75, 870 and others), urban train FL3, taxi (big station less than 150 meters), in the elegant district called Monte Verde Vecchio. Excellent big supermarket and shops in the same street, another supermarket open until 10 pm, outdoor market in the parallel street. Elegant bars and patisseries, excellent restaurants and takeaways close by (50-200 meters). Three historical parks are the pride of the neighborhood: the Gianicolo Park, through which you can reach the Vatican with a walk from the wonderful view of Rome; villa Sciarra, which was donated to Mussolini who gave it to the Roman people, villa Pamphili, summer residence of the Popes from the 16th century. The Gianicolo is famous for its large 360-degree terrace on Rome with the monument to Garibaldi and his wife Anita and the busts of his soldiers (Garibaldi) and the war memorial in the defense of the Roman republic. Always on the Janiculum, the famous "fontanone" overlooks the city, and immediately after the church of San Pietro in Montorio, with the marvelous little temple of Bramante, the Spanish Academy with its exibitions and the American Academy. An the ancient staircase from there leads to Trastevere. The Gianicolensi Walls surround the Gianicolo hill and, at Porta San Pancrazio, in the four-sided arch, is housed the Garibaldi Museum, in memory of the Hero who fought for the defense of the Roman Republic in 1849. The villa called "Il Vascello" because of its shape, has been left almost completely destroyed with the signs of the cannonades of the French by General Oudinot. From the Arch of the Janiculum, in Piazzale Aurelio, starts the Via Aurelia Antica, and a little further on is the early Christian Basilica of San Pancrazio (fifth century after Christ), with the catacombs not yet fully explored. In one part of the district the streets have maintained the Latin names (via Aurelia, via Vitellia, via Fonteiana, piazza Ottavilla, via del clivo Rutario). You will be at the heart of history. Check everything on internet maps and don't hesitate to ask me anything. I live at the same house number, in the building next to yours.

The apartment is huge and spacious. Love the decor that is typical old world Italian. High quality linens and towels. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for a long stay. Having the washer made packing for our vacation much easier. Mauricio is a perfect host. The tour of the area he provided was outstandingLovely neighborhood. Felt safe and secure. Not many great restaurants close by, but a quick drive or bus ride solved thisHighly recommend the apartment

Thank you very very much!
I'm sad you didn't like the restaurants nearby! Usually Il Focolare e L'antica Roma are well considered!. Anyway in Trastevere you can find very good and very expensive restaurants. Next time you will be in Rome i will check better the reastaurants!
You've been marvelous guests, I hope to meet you again!
Maurizio
The apartment is absolutely beautiful - and has an Italian soul, with beautiful furniture and decor. The location is excellent for local eateries (we recommend Golino's and Tutto Qua) and convenient shops, and easy access to Trastevere and beyond. Maurizio is a very kind and generous host - his tour of the locale was a great way to get an overview of the area plus very useful information on being a tourist in Rome. Staying in this apartment was one of the pleasures of being in Rome.

It was our first time to Rome and this place was very close to trastervere where we would go at night and it was amazing. Had a bus stop right outside but we didn’t use it but would take you to all the big monuments. Maurizio was amazing and drove us to the train when we were leaving

These young American guys, of mixed descent, are the evidence of American strenght and culture!
They left me some gifts (a good bottle of wine and Asti spumante!).
I hope to meet them again!

The house was very warm and welcoming. We traveled with 4 kids and we enjoyed staying there. The host was excellent and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Italy. :)
There is a bus station at the exit of the apartment, from there you can go to the most popular places (bus 75 or 44), very quiet neighborhood and a beatiful apartment that had everything we needed it to cook and rest. Maurizio is a great host.Recommended.

You have been wanderful guests and I am happy you were so calm and relaxed when you left, even if temperature had been 37 degrees!
And I'm happy too that your sons liked the tour of Janiculum and the historical explanations.
Thank you again!
We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is roomy with a lovely terrace. It is in a pleasant suburb with restaurants, bars & shops. The host made us very welcome. He is delightful and showed around the area. He equiped us with necessary local knowledge so we were able to get about very easily.

DEAR FRIENDS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I TRIED TO MAKE YOU FEEL ROMAN, AVOIDING BAD SHOPS OR TOURISTS TRAPS. YOU'VE BEEN WANDERFUL AND I HOPE YOU'LL COME BACK.
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!
The good Doctor picked us up at the train station. What a fine gesture as getting a taxi to an unknown location is not fun. Then he gave us a city tour which was helpful in understanding where we were located. Also he showed us where to eat and shop. The home is large, clean and very well appointed. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we hope to return.

A lovely, elegant, spacious and light apartment in a quiet, safe neighbourhood. The host was extremely helpful and informative and even helped us find somewhere local for dinner the first night as we arrived late in the evening. The buses are easy to use, but we liked to walk, it's a great way to experience the city. The route up Janiculum Hill and over to the Vatican only takes around 30 minutes and is very pretty.
This is a lovely apartment in an interesting and highly desirable neighborhood. Maurizio was such a great host; he could not have been more welcoming nor accessible! He met us when we arrived and not only did he orient us to the apartment, he gave us a driving tour of the neighborhood, including information about the history of Rome and the area. We felt comfortable and at home in the apartment, and enjoyed our time there.

Viva l'Italia! Viva gli Stati uniti d'America!
This is an incredibly spacious apartment in the greenest neighborhood in Rome. The bedrooms especially: airy, bright and both with quality airconditioning. There’s also an amazing balcony (another rarity for Roe). One block away from outdoor market, and small local stores. Host communicative, knowledgable and easy to get a hold of. We will be staying here every time we are in Rome, from now on,

We can’t say enough great things about this property! Maurizio is an outstanding host and his home is wonderful. Away from the hustle and bustle of central Rome but easy access to all the sights by bus and foot. A lovely neighbourhood where you can head to the local bar for an espresso and cornetto in the morning, and local market for some fresh produce, and truly feel like a Roman! And the apartment is massive - we travelled with our three sons (young adult and teenagers) and each had their own bed - plus room to spare. And Maurizio thinks of everything - coffee, laundry and dishwashing detergent, plush towels, fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, lovely balconies all around, and a beautiful piano and artwork throughout. Of travelling with a family I highly recommend this lovely home. Grazie tanto Maurizio!

We had the absolute best stay at this apartment. Milena and Maurizio are amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make sure everything worked out for our time there. Maurizio picked us up at the train and gave us a tour of the area. The apartment is very clean, comfortable, spacious, with the best views from the three balconies, in a great area with cute shops, and restaurants. There is a bus stop outside the building and a train nearby. We hope to stay here again!!

I hope you will come back!

I really enjoyed the area! I would walk down to the pantheon which took about one hour and then taxi back in the evening. The store for groceries it’s right down the street. The farmers market was so close that I went almost daily for fruit. The café’s are within walking distance. If you are a coffee drinker you will not find any Keurig to use in the morning; just the one cup at a time stove top pot. No toaster as well, but all in all, I enjoyed staying here.

A real family, home, elegant and comfortable. There was even a piano. Wifi good.
Two friends and two teens, perfect space could be made even larger on request. En-suite bathroom.
Lovely roof-terraces, good location, and the Maurizio was really attentive and helpful. He helped to guide us to the real Roma . I really liked the area quiet but good transport and local shops, Cafes et cetera.
Will be returning I hope

A true English Lady, a Finnish Lady, two teenagers, I was a bit afraid thinking they were too cold blooded for Italy! But everything went well and I tried to help them showing how marvelous Rome is. Luckly, italian food and italian wine conquered them and we had very nice conversations about history and literature. Really very high level guests, I hope to keep in contact with them!
Thank you again!

A wonderful host and a beautiful apartment, what a great start to a Roman holiday. Our host Maurizio, took us on personal tour of the neighbourhood including historical sites and eating places on checkin, he also gave detailed instructions regarding workings of the apartment.
Bus 75 is at the gate which takes to the Termini railway station or you can connect with other buses around Rome.
The apartment is in a lovely neighbourhood, with supermarkets, restaurants, takeaway etc close by.
The apartment was as per listing and well equipped.

You've been very kind. I'm glad I helped you discovering the beauty of Rome. The area of Janiculum is really good and now new shops are opening and others are being restored. When you'll be again in Rome, the big "Dolci Desideri" pastry will be even larger! The toaster you found broken has been replaced. Thank you for noticing it!
Thank you again!

My fiancé and I stayed at Maurizio’s apartment for a week, and it was amazing. It is incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and has everything you need. We walked from the apartment throughout Rome almost every day, and it is especially close to the thriving pedestrian-only area in Trastevere.
Maurizio’s hospitality was such a pleasant surprise - he picked us up from the train station and even gave us a short tour of Rome. He is such a welcoming host! His hospitality and home was the perfect introduction to Rome and the rest of Italy.
I stayed for just under two weeks and after a few days it felt like I was part of the neighborhood. The host gave me a tour of the area, which was as good as any tour in Rome.
It was ideal to walk out the front door and be able to walk across the street for coffee, dessert or any other meal
Between the Quattro Venti train station, buses 75 and 44 along with being able to catch a cab, the location is ideal. It gets you out of the crowds in the city, yet you can get anywhere in 20 minutes.
The apartment and the host receive my highest recommendations.

Our host Maurizio was very accomodating. He picked us up at the train station and dropped us off at the apartmenr. He let us settle in then returned to give us a tour of the area and some history. He responded to our questions very quickly. Maurizio was very helpful.
The apartment was very spacious and well appointed. Bus stop (#75) to main attractions is located right outside the apartment. Very ideal. We would recommend this place to anyone who would like to stay here.

We apologize for the heater (VAILLANT), that needed a repair by the official Assistence. Something may go wrong, but the worker arrived soon. I hope you will come again, since you are ITALIAN. Thank you very much again!

My husband and i really enjoyed our stay here. There was a market and a bunch of restaurants nearby. All amenities worked great. There was even a diffuser attachment for the blow dryer (curly hair girls will understand!). Maurizio set up a private driver for us to and from the airport-super helpful! Only negative was the upstairs neighbor pounding on the floor above our bedroom at 12AM. Later found out it was because we had the air conditioner running. We were told we cannot have the air running from 8pm-8am. So if you are planning to visit during hot months keep this in mind!

Our stay was great! Our host (Maurizio) was wonderful. He was so thoughtful and responsive to our needs. Upon arriving in Rome he picked us up at the Trastevere Train Station and drove us to our apartment. After we freshened up he took us in his car on a tour of the area showing us all the significant sites and he gave us a thorough account of the history behind what we were seeing. On another occasion we were unable to get a taxi to our tour at the Colosseum and he drove us there.
Maurizio is a very kind man and really interested in his guests! His apartment is not ultra modern but a true reflection of Italian decor with interesting furniture and beautiful paintings.
My thanks to him for making our trip an enjoyable experience.

Super Gracious and Generous Host. Very knowledgeable about Rome. Was there to answer any question. Picked us up from the train station. Set us up with a taxi driver. Gave us a tour. We travel quite a bit for competitions and this host was the BEST one we ever had. He made our stay easy and his place was perfect! We are from the States and his support made our travels much less stressful and allowed my son to focus on his competition -- which he won. And Maurizio even had a congratulatory sign posted on the entrance to the building for my son after his win.
