Our property is located in the prime area of Lake Almanor Country Club, on Peninsula Drive halfway between “Rec 1” and “the Point.” This quiet area is just far enough away from the heavy traffic of Rec 1 but within easy distance to enjoy the tennis courts, beach, etc. Enjoy a picturesque walk to the Point! Head over to the golf course or driving range.
Massive trees surround our home, which is on the inward side of the road and faces east toward the lake. This eastern side of the peninsula is away from the windy west side of the peninsula.
This is the vacation you’ve been dreaming about — a huge lake for your recreation! Located in the Sierra Nevada, east of Chico, Lake Almanor is a gem!
There are lots of fun things to do within the country club - 9-hole golf course with putting green, driving range, pro shop, restaurant and lounge, tennis, tennis lessons, tennis pro shop, 2 recreation areas offering boat launches, beaches for swimming, parks, picnicking, playgrounds, basketball, pickle ball, volley ball, horse shoe and shuffle board courts.
Outside the Country Club there are boat rentals, horseback riding, bike rentals, a 9-mile bicycle/jogging/walking trail, fishing, hiking, restaurants, shopping and 2 other golf courses around the lake.
Local amenities include bank, post office, restaurants, grocery store, library, doctor's office, gas stations and airport.
* Note: Lake Almanor Country Club (LACC) charges all renters additional fees (renter occupancy fee, plus boat launch fee). This LACC occupancy is shown on VRBO as "$100 Administrative Fee" because LACC requires hosts to collect the fees. If you choose to bring a boat, let us know in your application and we have to charge that as well for LACC. LACC requires all renters to complete "Renter Registration" form and submit at least 14 days prior to stay.
Also, LACC requires all renters to complete an LACC “Renter Registration” form at least 14 days prior to the Check-in Date.
** Plumas County charges 9% bed tax fee and 3% tourism fee.
*** We strongly suggest that our guests purchase traveler’s insurance. It helps to safeguard your trip for unforeseen circumstances, such as personal emergencies, or natural disasters/acts of God (depending on what plan/coverage you buy). We do not provide refunds for any such issues.
**** PROPERTY RULES:
Upon your arrival:
1. Guest acknowledges that the use of the property is entirely at the Guest's risk. Guest shall indemnify and save harmless Homeowner against and from any and all expenses, costs, damages, suits, actions or liabilities arising from any and all loss of or damage to personal property, injury or death resulting from the use of the rental property, LACC facilities or lake use.
2. Check-in time is no earlier than 4:00 p.m.
3. This is a non-smoking (of any type) home/property.
4. No animals of any type are allowed. Violators will pay LACC fines and subject to immediate termination.
5. Bedding and towels: Sheet sets, pillows and blankets, as well as bath towels, are provided. Please do not remove mattress covers. No use of towels outside of our property (i.e., bring your own beach and boating towels).
6. No sleeping on couches.
7. You will need to provide your own supply of dish towels, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap, and some cleaning items. A limited supply of toilet paper is provided.
During your stay:
1. Absolutely no parties allowed.
3. No camping or sleeping in tents, cars, trucks or RVs.
4. Boat parking only allowed on lower cement boat pad (no boats allowed in back yard or upper lot).
5. Please do not rearrange furnishings.
6. Any damage or stains to furnishings will be charged to you.
7. Please abide by the rules of Lake Almanor Country Club, as you are responsible for fines.
8. Guest agrees to not disturb, annoy, endanger or interfere with neighbors, nor use the premises for any unlawful purposes, nor violate any law or ordinance, nor commit waste or nuisance upon or about the premises. Turn off exterior lights when not in use.
9. Trash: All rubbish MUST be placed in outside trash can. Use the provided bungee cord to secure the lid (to keep critters out of it). Please do not leave any trash beyond amount allowed in one (1) trash can (additional fee applies if not followed). Trash pick-up is Monday morning. Please take the Waste Management ("WM") green roller trash can to the street on Saturday morning before you depart. Return trash can to side of garage on Monday after trash pick-up.
10. Do not put feminine products or flushable wipes down toilet! Toilet paper only.
11. Do not change the setting on the refrigerator or freezer.
12. Do not leave doors open, due to critters.
13. Do not use fireplace.
14. When using the BBQ, turn the propane off when you are done. Light BBQ with matches (stored under BBQ). Clean BBQ and utensils after use.
15. House phone to be used for local calls. Any bills for long-distance or international telephone calls will be deducted from deposit.
16. Lock all doors and latch all windows when you are not home. For the keypad entry door, please leave knob in horizontal position. This auto-locks the door.
17. Internet access: Due to circumstances beyond our control, internet access is down from time to time. It is also slow compared to city internet and only works with 1-2 devices. There is free Wi-Fi at the tennis courts.
18. Air conditioning: Do not leave A/C on when house is unoccupied and do not leave windows open when A/C is on; this causes huge electrical bills and increases rent for all future renters.
19. Outdoor use: Our lawn and backyard landscaping is fragile. Do not ride bicycles or any vehicles off the gravel or driveway. Please be careful to not damage any plants. No inflatable rafts/items allowed on lawn.
20. Our gardener comes once per week in the afternoon. They will mow the lawn and blow the back patio, front deck and driveway, so please leave these areas clear if possible.
21. We utilize a monthly pest control service, which sprays the outside of the house for bugs. This scheduled maintenance may/may not occur during your stay; it only takes a few minutes and you do not need to interact with the technician. Our lawn is mowed weekly or bi-weekly.
Clean Before Leaving:
We do employ a housecleaner who does basic “light cleaning” after every renter. If the property (inside and out) requires excessive cleaning, it will be charged to you.
Before Leaving:
1. Check-out is no later than 10:00am*
2. Take trash to street: Please take the Waste Management ("WM") roller trash can to the street on Saturday before you depart. Use the provided bungee cord to secure the lid (to keep critters out of it). All debris, rubbish, and discards MUST placed in outside trash can. Please do not leave any trash beyond amount allowed in 1 trash can.
3. Lock all doors and latch all windows, and turn off air conditioning, fans and lights.
* Any damages and costs resulting from not following these rules will incur charges to guest.
