About this property
Gîte La Mare aux Fées, Parc des marais du Cotentin, between sea and countryside
The fairy Mare is a small cottage for 2 to 4 people.
Built in an old barn adjoining the owners' home, this place invites you, among other things, to discover the heritage built in earth and stone clean marshes Cotentin and Bessin, whose traditional techniques have been used to restore the property , dated about 1800.
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION
At the entrance to the peninsula of Cotentin, Gorges is a small village, located between the landing beaches (25 km), Cherbourg (50 km) and Mont Saint-Michel (90 km). The cottage has the amenities of many small towns around: Périers (10 km), Carentan (14 km), The Hague-du-Puits (15 km), Coutances (25 km), Saint-Lô (35 km) ...
A grocery tobacco bar with bread is located in the village, 2 km from the cottage, open Tuesday to Sunday from 7:30 to 20:30.
For England, La Mare aux Fees is an important stop, near the Cherbourg car ferry (50 km), to reach Paris, Brittany or the South of France.
ATMOSPHERE
The fairy Mare is in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Cotentin marshes and Bessin, a real natural treasure opening on both sides of the sea: in the bay of Veys (facing the islands of Saint-Marcouf) to the east, to the haven of Saint-Germain and the dunes of Créances to the west.
At the turn of the road is the splendor of manor farms in stone and "mass" (earth), while the water, the land and the sand offer a vegetation of rare species and a rich and precious fauna.
