Wren Cottage is strictly no pets, if you would like to bring a pet please look at our other listings which are Foxglove and Willow cottage which are pet-friendly and we welcome a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs per cottage, Sorry no cats. .Please send me a message to make sure you are getting the cottage you need. The cottages are suitable for families or couples and are Ideal for extended families to have a get together while still having their own space for either a short break or full week. The Cottages are situated in an idyllic rural location up a country lane which has only a few properties accessed by it yet only a five-minute drive from Scarborough and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. They are set overlooking a valley within the North York Moors National Park. Each cottage has access to the garden which is shared between our three lovely properties it has beautiful southerly views of rolling wooded countryside towards Forge Valley Woods.
Parking is adjacent to each cottage and with no steps or stairs they are ideal for people with limited mobility although not suitable for wheelchairs due to space needed for turning.
All our self catering holiday cottages are non smoking. They are maintained to a good 3 star standard by ourselves and kept in a traditional style with comfort our main priority.

Each cottage can sleep up to four adults in a double room and a twin room (a cot and high chair can be provided by arrangement). The cottages have a lounge / dining room with dining table, colour television, DVD player, CD radio, books, games and local information to plan your days and evenings out and have a galley style fitted kitchen with full size cooker, microwave, refrigerator with ice-box and an extensive inventory of cookware, crockery and utensils. Scalby & Surrounding Area
The village of Scalby is a short distance from the cottages and offers a general store, newsagents, cafe, and two public houses. Its village church, St. Lawrence's, dates from 1180 and is well worth a visit - the lych gate and stained glass being particularly fine. There are many walks around the village and the banks of the Sea Cut (a Victorian man-made flood channel following the original course of the River Derwent) provide an interesting and level walk. Scarborough and the coast are just a five minute drive away.

Derwent Valley And Hackness
The nearby (2 miles) Derwent Valley and the Hamlet of Hackness offers more beautiful scenery that leads to the North Riding Forest Park. Also in easy traveling distance is the popular moorland village of Goathland - made famous as the village of "Aidensfield" in the "Heartbeat" television programme.

The cottages have public footpaths nearby and have beautiful views from the shared garden over Forge Valley and towards the woods. We also offer on-site parking, with space for two cars per cottage. Two of our properties are pet-friendly – the third is kept pet-free. All cottages are non-smoking.
