About this property
Luxurious, spacious, sunny town house 3 mins walk to the sea.
Recently restored home, with modern amenities in a lovely old town house. Clean, fresh and comfortable with everything you need for a great home from home holiday.
The front door is accessed up a set of granite steps. Just off the lovely hallway you will find a spacious high ceilinged front room with bay window looking out onto a tree lined street (with ample free parking), a large comfortable three-piece suite TV and table.
The airy and spacious dining room has a dining table for 6, another comfortable seating area. This room is equipped with board games, TV for watching DVD's, many great books and is a lovely sunny room for a quiet read or a family games room, ideal for teenagers too.
Along the hall the roomy kitchen has all essential amenities including washing machine and microwave. Tea, coffee, sugar etc. supplied as well as olive oil and other spices and condiments. We will often leave some herbs and veg from our allotment if in season.
Through the back door you will find a sun trap terrace overlooked by lovely trees where the birds will entertain you all day. Wonderful for a fresh air breakfast before you venture out to discover the wonders of West Penwith or a lovely wind down at the end of the day.
Upstairs is a roomy and bright bathroom with roll top bath, powerful shower enclosure and WC, with another separate WC and basin next door. Along the landing are two spacious, high ceiling, bedrooms, one with comfortable king-size bed, the other has twin beds which can be connected as a super king, and a delightful snug single bedroom with single bed.
A mix of traditional and eclectic contemporary décor, large and airy rooms offers a comfortable and relaxing stay in the heart of Penzance town. Close to all amenities, including supermarkets, promenade, parks (with swings etc. for kids and sub tropical gardens), and buses, all within 5 - 10 mins walking distance.
The house is centrally heated on a timer and has ample hot water. TV, DVD player with large selection of great films, many books and board games to keep you entertained. Free WiFi also available.
The town centre is a 10 min stroll through Penlee Park. This lovely green space has a children's play park, tennis courts, Penlee House museum, home of the Newlyn School of Art collection, and The Orangery cafe where you can sit in the sun with a fabulous menu of freshly prepared food.
Penzance promenade is a 3 min walk down tree lined Alexandra Rd. This is an alternative route into town along the promenade, taking in stunning Mounts Bay, with our fairy tale St Michaels Mount complete with castle, the Jubilee Pool outdoor seawater lido, and historic Chapel Street.
Penzance is a fabulous town of artists and makers, as well as great eateries and pubs where it is easy to spend a whole day browsing and shopping for unique artifacts and artisan goods. You can also access the town via Morrab Gardens and admire the wonderful sub tropical plants.
The train and bus stations are a 5 min drive or 30 min walk along the seafront, and buses can be accessed just around the corner to Newlyn, Mousehole, Sennen Beach, and Land’s End etc. You can also walk along the coastal path through Newlyn, with it's wonderful Newlyn Cheese shop, Newlyn Art Gallery, grocers, flower shop and working fishing harbour, as well as Aunty May's Pasty shop, (Yum!), and more, and on to Mousehole, home of many art galleries, winding streets and chocolate box prettiness.
Along the way are several great local food pubs, including The Tolcarne Inn famous for great seafood, The Swordfish Inn famous for many former wild days of fishermen on landing days, and in Mousehole, The Old Coastguard for posh grub, or The Ship for local flavour.
Nearer home you will find The Bath Inn just off the promenade, with a wonderful pretty beer garden for sitting in the sun with a drink, which is just around the corner from Frasers fabulous fish and chips on the prom. Further along the prom is the Yacht Inn with another great garden where you can catch the last of the evening sun or The Lugger where you can watch the world go by along Mounts Bay.
Penzance boasts some exceptional cuisine at The Shore just 10 mins walk from the house, or others at The Bakehouse, The Benbow, The Turks Head, all in Chapel Street. Cornwall is famous for great fresh locally sourced food.

About the host
Hosted by Maria & Jimmy

We love to travel and meet new people. We have 2 grown sons and are embracing life on the other side! This is the first time we have let our house and we look forward to meeting our guests and to helping you have the best holiday experience.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this house the first time we stepped inside. It was tired and in need of a total refurbishment, quite a challenge! But Jimmy has worked miracles and between us we think we have created a home which is cheerful, comfortable but still with a sympathetic eye for the original features, keeping the feeling of a grand old town house.
What makes this property unique
Tons of space! High ceilings, large rooms and a gorgeous stairwell with many original features, grandeur and elegance.
