Mountaintop Experience

Motta Camastra is a family treasure that has been painstakingly and beautifully restored. The town is very old, population about 800. The residents are very friendly and helpful. The town sits on a mountain top with beautiful vistas and fabulous sunsets. Fabulous views of Mt Etna. Not the easiest to druve to sitting on a mountain top. VERY winding road up to the town with many SHARP hairpin turns--not for the faint of heart! Host and hostess were extremely nice.

City in the clouds with the wonderful view!

We had an amazing time staying at this wonderful property in Motta Camastra. Our children loved that the house has 3 levels and especially that they have their own floor, just for themselves. The house is beautifully renovated incorporating old and new. Signore Mario had everything ready for us and made us feel like we're at home. There was milk, water, coffee, breakfast goodies waiting for us. That was so sweet and kind of him! The place was impeccably clean with many beautiful little details (soaps in the bathrooms, dish detergent, toilet paper, blow drier, everything you would need in an apartment). But also there are many stores in the city and close buy if you need anything (for example Eurospin). But also the whole village of Motta Camastra were so welcoming - we have never experienced so much welcome!!! Our kids made friends with the local kids, we met all the people and had nice conversations with them, enjoyed watching soccer games at one of the piazzas just above the house, we went to the local barber shop where my son had the best haircut ever!!! There is so much to see and do in this area; beautiful Taormina, Gole Alcantara, wineries etc. Even Etna made our stay so special and one night we saw an eruption, it was so amazing and beautiful! We are hoping to visit again next year. P.S. There is lots of parking spaces by the Post Office and Municipio, at Via Umberto I and just under on Via XX Settembre. We had no problem parking our Honda Odyssey van. Grazie mille per un meraviglioso soggiorno e ospitalita!!!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft

Die Unterkunft von Mario und Enza war sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und ließ nichts zu wünschen übrig. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Zur Begrüßung standen Getränke im Kühlschrank und die Tipps für gutes Essen in der Umgebung waren auch Prima ("I due Compari"). Aussucht auf den Ätna unvergleichlich!!

Unvergesslich

Der Aufenthalt in diesem entzückenden Häuschen war wirklich etwas besonderes. Es war mit viel Charme eingerichtet und es war alles da, was wir brauchten. Das Häuschen auf 3 Etagen hat großen Charme, eine traumhafte Lage mit grandiosem Ausblick. Die Vermieter sind ausgesprochen zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Allerdings ist das Dorf Motta Camastra nur mit dem Auto zu erreichen.

Un merveilleux séjour à Motta Camastra

Nous avons apprécié l'appartement et son incroyable vue sur l'Etna, de même que les commodités de cette cité médiévale. La Trattoria Del Corto, dans le village, sert d'excellents repas typiques de la Sicile. Allez-y vous ne serez pas déçu. La Cook, Francesca et son époux, Carmelo, sont des hôtes incroyables.

Idylle mit Ätnablick

Wundervoller Urlaub mitten in einem idyllischen Bergdörfchen mit atemberaubender Aussicht auf den Ätna. Wir haben unser Frühstück am Balkon mit Bergpanorama genossen und werden es vermissen. Das Häuschen ist liebevoll und modern eingerichtet, hat alles, was man braucht. Sieht genau so aus, wie auf den Bildern. Frische Brötchen bekommt man in der Nähe liegendem Conan, sogar auch Sonntag. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen von Messina bis Catania und natürlich für ein Ätna-Erlebnistour. Mario ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber, das Häuschen peinlichst sauber. Wir können es wärmstens empfehlen. Danke für Alles!

Proprietario molto disponibile, pulizia eccellente, appartamento curato nei dettagli in un paesino molto tranquillo, con un vicinato molto accoglIente. La posizione permette di raggiungere in pochi minuti di auto le fantastiche Gole dell’Alcantara, ma con qualche minuto in più anche Taormina, Giardini Naxos e così via. Consigliato!

Etna, sunsets, old world charm

Beautiful village with retained charm but still provides modern conveniences and a central location to tour surrounding cities n towns. Easy access by car to mountains. Wine regions, Aeolian Islands, sophisticated dinning and high end shopping excursions. Million dollar views of Etna and glorious sunsets right out your window. Great hiking and outdoor activities at your door. Our hosts were great and the locals were friendly and helpful. We had a great stay!

Fantastic apartment with breathtaking view

We have just returned from our first holiday to Sicily and spent the first week in this wonderful three floor apartment in the heart of the old village. It has been sympathetically restored and had everything we could wish for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The view from the balcony is fantastic! We miss our breakfasts overlooking the old village with the stunning backdrop of Mount Etna in the distance. Mario was very welcoming and gave us all the information that we needed. Thanks Mario - we will always have fond memories of your grandfather's house!

très belle maison de village. tranquillité assuree et voisin tres agreables. nous avons été reçu avec une grosse corbeille de fruit par les propriétaires et nous sommes repartis avec 1 kg de citrons!!!! je recommande cette location.
