Lovely peaceful stay, Tony is very welcoming and helpful. The scenery is beautiful and there are great walks. The location was terrific for driving to lots of the towns and villages.
Absolutely perfect for a family holiday. The little playground on the farm was ideal for our child, and the cottage itself was warm, well-insulated, and very comfortable. We really appreciated the free use of the washing machine and tumble dryer too. The owner was lovely and took great care of us. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful and remote.

In a beautiful countryside setting, peaceful Buttercup cottage provides a restful space immersed in nature. Compact and welcoming, Tony and Sue are great hosts, thanks for all the treats when we arrived. Good location for easily exploring south-east Devon, thanks for a lovely stay.
Wonderful place to stay for the beautiful Devon countryside. We stayed for several months while waiting for our house purchase to go through. Tony and Sue were the perfect hosts, incredibly helpful. Would definitely recommend Buttercup Cottage!
Very happy with our stay at Buttercup Cottage. Amenities were all well appointed, we needed to replace the kettle which was no problem and had a replacement within an hour. The loveliest spot to enjoy the countryside thank you.
Great little base location for exploring the area. The host was communicative, and happy to answer questions. house was tidy and everything ready to go. The roads in are not for everyone but we managed it fine in a skoda octavia.
The property was very well presented and equipped. It provided a welcome relaxing break. While there we visited many interesting places, none of which were very far. We had a lovely break.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a great base to travel to Dorset and Devon. It was a tranquil location and our kids loved the garden and swing etc. Our kids (16 months old and 5 years) never slept so amazingly! Highly recommend.
Cosy comfy cottage in beautiful tranquil setting. Generous goodies on arrival, cottage was very clean and the owner provided excellent communication and information. Highly recommend

We had a very nice time at the Buttercup cottage. The house is very charming, quite and peaceful. We loved the surroundings. Plenty of fun things to do in the area. We felt very welcome.
We had a great stay and felt very welcome! The kids loved the play area. Everything was clean. Many books and some movies to keep all of us entertained.
This is a perfect little countryside getaway to explore thos part of Devon. Buttercup Cottage is small but very well equipped amd the added outdoor shared play area a bonus for 2 kids!

Stayed in Buttercup Cottage with my wife for a quiet break while our home was being decorated and prior to me having an operatioon. Location is remote and very peaceful. Everything you need for your stay is provided and Tony is very approachablle and is very knowledgale in the area. Overall we had a very relaxing stay thank you.
Buttercup cottage is an exceptional venue. We stayed for a month and did not wish to leave. Our stay was over the November / December period when there was snow on the ground and the wood burner made the whole accommodation feel warm and welcoming. Will definitely return in the summer if the cottage is available.
Tony was a brilliant host, pure magic.

Clean, quiet and very rural
The cottage was mostly very well equipped, clean and tidy, in the midst of steeply rolling countryside, reached by narrow rutted lanes.
We enjoyed visiting nearby towns and the tram ride to Seaton. We found driving down the lanes to and from the cottage quite challenging.
I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Buttercup Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and very cosy. It has been very thoughtfully put together and there are some lovely inclusions which make it a perfect home away from home. Our son thoroughly enjoyed the garden and play items available for use. The property is in a great location for visiting the surrounding area and the hosts are wonderful. We will definitely be booking to stay here again and urge anyone considering booking to do so - you won't regret it!
We had a lovely time on our 5 day stay, this is a basic, small property but with everything you could need! Clean, tidy and well equipped, the children loved having puzzles to do and the outside play equipment to explore (although this is round the back of the property, not in sight from the cottage so we did need to go round with them.) The owners are lovely and location is great for exploring the south devon activities. We enjoyed the Seaton Tramway, Lyme Regis beach and the Somerset museum. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice base to call home for a few days!
Lovely little cottage, very clean and well presented. Equipped with all you need for self catering.
The location is ideal for visiting lots of places, and is one of the few I've stayed in where the incessant drone of distant traffic can't be heard.
Tony and his wife were very helpful and were on hand if a problem arose.
Hope to return at some point, even though the weather wasn't kind and the lane to the cottage a little daunting!
We had a lovely week in the Buttercup cottage. Everything was exactly as promised and better. We felt very welcome with the cookies, milk, tea, nescafe and fudge left by our hosts. The house was very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and the talks with our hosts who shared their beautiful garden with us. We went fossil hunting at the beaches of Lyme Regis and Charmouth. Walking around charming Kilmington and shopping in lovely Honiton. We also went to Exeter by train from Honiton. In short we enjoyed ourselves and would like to return to discover more of beautiful Devon.
