About this property

Heritage Hideaway- Tiny House

Heritage Hideaway is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with loved ones. Located on 25 acres of steep bluffs, our Tiny House is tucked on the edge of the mature hardwood forest. A 100 yard hike in, allows guests to feel truly unplugged. Comfortably rustic, the Tiny House is furnished with solar electricity, clean water and firewood is supplied with each stay.

Our Tiny House is 100% off the grid and utilizes a small solar system. Guests should consider limiting their use of electronic devices and appliances to ensure adequate electricity for lights, fan and fridge during your stay. While there is no running water, ten gallons of fresh water is supplied with each stay. The clean and modern outhouse is close but not too close to the Tiny House. A short hike beyond the cabin is a rock overlook for spectacular sunset views. Please note the parking area is located 100 yards from the cabin, there is no motor vehicle access to the cabin itself. A wagon is available to facilitate transporting your gear for your stay.

A true hideaway, the cabin is tucked back off the main road, yet close to many recreational opportunities. Relax around a campfire or listen to the sounds of nature. Take in the scenic views and gather with family where distractions disappear.

For guests preferring modern amenities, see our main cabin listing: VRBO#867428. Note discount for weekly stays (7 night minimum).

A Walk in The Woods
Beautiful little house, we loved the pinewood carsiding. Everything was grand, nice trails to walk and just the most perfect little getaway to read and reflex! We could be more satisfied. Troy even stopped by to ensure that everything was good. Truly a great getaway.

Perfect Spot
We loved the property, the tiny house was perfect after another visit to Mayo Clinic. We had discovered the quaint little town of Lanesboro last time we were here, and wanted to come back. We would like to stay at the main cabin next time, the views at both are spectacular.

Great Get-Away
It's like camping but in a very nice hardshell tent with a bed. Very nice secluded location with great views. Well planned tiny house with nice features. Provided firewood was good quality. Few bugs in a year of raging mosquitoes.

Perfect Getaway
I have stayed at this property 2 previous times and enjoyed each visit. If you truly want to be off the grid but comfortable this is the place. There is a wonderful swing that overlooks the bluffs that I really enjoyed!

Troy was born and raised in the Lanesboro area. He works as an Engineer for Minnesota Department of Transportation in Rochester. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing and just generally being outdoors. The Danielson family continues to maintain the original family farm nearby. Laurie grew up in west central Wisconsin on a small hobby farm. She works as a pharmacist for Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She loves living on the Root River and enjoys gardening, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and biking the Root River Bike trail. We feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful place and enjoy meeting our guests. We hope you enjoy your visit to the Lanesboro area.

Why they chose this property

Heritage Hideaway, LLC was originally established in 2012 with our Amish built log cabin. We became interested in the Tiny House movement and wanted to provide guests the opportunity to experiment with this lifestyle. We purchased the Tiny House in 2015 and moved it to it's current site in May. While selecting furnishings we experimented with a variety of options to make the Tiny House efficient yet functional. We hope you enjoy the scenic beauty, solitude and sounds of nature during your stay.

What makes this property unique

Our Tiny House is 100% off the grid utilizing a small solar system. While there is no running water, ten gallons of fresh water is supplied with each stay. The clean and modern outhouse is close but not too close to the Tiny House. A short hike beyond the cabin is a rock overlook for spectacular sunset views. The short 100 yard hike in, is facilitated by a wagon.
