Relaxing escape to Mammoth

We loved our trip to this condo in Mammoth. It snowed so much and the condo is walking distance to the village which was wonderful. We would stay here again.

Awesome Mammoth rental

I will most definitely rent again . We felt very comfortable there , the set up is really nice . It’s very quiet and being able to walk to the village is amazing

Nice size condo right next to the village. Condo was a little older a might need some updating BUT it is PET friendly. Our family enjoyed staying there. Bedroom upstairs above kitchen is VERY SMALL good for a couple of kids only. Kitchen a little on the small size but average for Mammoth condo.

It was nice. There were a couple issues we had…we told management and they seemed appreciative of information and said they would take care of them so hopefully they do. Unfortunately the jacuzzi didn’t work either. There was plenty of firewood, bed comfortable. The location is the best and easy to get to.

Great Locaton Close to Village

We enjoyed our stay in Mammoth thanks to being able to make a last minute reservation here. We arrived late, but parking and getting into the unit was very easy. The condo was clean (did not smell of pets though pets are allowed), the beds were very comfortable (one of the beds is in a small nook at the top of some interesting stairs - bring a light up there for the night if you need to use restroom etc!), plenty of fans and heat, and communication with the owners was excellent. Nice to walk to The Village. Also appreciated the coffee and brita water filter! Thank you!

Convenient location with poor communication

This is the second time that I have stayed at this property. The location is absolutely perfect given its proximity to both the ski back trail as well as the village. The check-in process was streamlined, although it forced you to download an additional application. The beds are comfortable and the linens are soft. There is significant wear to the property with holes in the walls and multiple lights switches that do not work as well as lights that have no appropriate lights. The communication with the property managers is absolutely nonexistent, and they did not respond to a single inquiry about specifics of the home after chick-in. Additionally, they stated simply that they will not respond to early/late check in or out inquiries. Mind you we did not request to check in early or check out late, however, it seems as though this blanket statement reflects their overall disinterested in communicating at all with their guests. Unfortunately, at this stage, I will be seeking other properties to rent within this complex as there are many, and with others I have stayed. I have had significantly better communication.

Great condo, close to village.

Great condo. Took a mini vacation with my husband and two teenage kids this past weekend and we were able to book this place at the last minute. Place was perfect for us more then enough room. Kitchen was well stocked had all the items we needed to make breakfast and lunch. We walked to village for dinner the 3 nights we were there. Only reason I don't give condo 5 stars is sliding door and front bedroom window would not lock, which ended up not being a problem but still you may want to check that out. Also coming out of the upstairs shower their is a little area where a puddle starts forming, you may also want to get that fixed. Maybe for summer months invest in a floor fan but this only a preference for my husband and I so just a suggestion. Thanks again for sharing your place.

Convenient location and dog friendly

This unit is located across the street from the Village and all it’s amenities. The bridge that goes across the street to the Village is a good idea but not as convenient as one thinks. You have to hike to it from the back of the complex and the trail is not well marked. The complex lacks lights at night. I walked to the jacuzzi in the dark as there were no lights along the path to the pool and jacuzzi area. Complex lights are mainly lights that come on as you walk up to to the unit’s stairs. The unit itself was ok. Our dog found a Cadbury chocolate egg under the bed and the carpet was worn thin in places and nails were exposed. A fan in the living area would be a nice addition as the unit doesn’t get good ventilation even with windows open. No clean kitchen sponge and hand soap. Furnishings are newer and comfortable but the WiFi does not work well at all.

Quaint apartment conveniently near the center of town, could use a few changes

The apartment is in the Val D'Isere complex - just a short walk from the main village in downtown Mammoth. We enjoyed the location for its convenience to town. Some of the amenities were unavailable - e.g. hot tub - but this was understandable given the current health crisis. The apartment itself was clean, had a reasonably well-stocked kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. We appreciated there were fans for the upstairs bedroom which gets a little hotter. Would also highly recommend a humidifier - the mountain air can be dry! We had a few issues with the apartment - the building, including our unit was under construction during our stay. However, the management worked with us to accommodate this issue. There were a few aspects that needed repairs - e.g. the towel rack upstairs and the sofa downstairs was missing a leg - but overall the apartment was well functioning. The biggest downside was that the patio, which was advertised, was completely covered in firewood and a tarp. It's a great patio with views of the mountain, so it would be nice if firewood was either placed elsewhere or there was less of it. The wifi was OK - but fortunately we had full service, so we were able to use our hot spots to work remotely.

Summer Vacation

We love Mammoth and decided to take our family for a summer vacation. Even though we planned to explore the beautiful lakes in the vicinity we also wanted a pool onsite. When we got there we went to go to the pool with our kids-it was 90 degrees. We were sent the pool code 2 days prior to arriving. Upon arriving, the pool was completely torn apart and shut down. I instantly emailed the property managers and had no response. After checking out we got a generic email asking to tell them if we had and issues. Since we never heard back about the pool I told them again how disappointed we were about the pool. Their response was they had an explosion during winter and according to the house manual "we just manage the condo not the whole complex." We didn't even receive an apology. So disappointed by their extremely cold response. Also, if you are looking for a 3 bedroom this is not your place! The 3rd bedroom is small space up some very steep stairs with only room for a full bed. We use VRBO frequently but the with the lack of customer service I would NOT recommend this condo.

Great location

Location is the best feature of this condo. Being across the street from the Village is super convenient and fun! And no, we didn’t hear noise from the Village. The property itself could some TLC. Shades on the windows, interior paint, fill in wall/cabinet holes, etc. The master bedroom does not have a closet for your hang-up clothes. The bathroom has two pedestal sinks but no counter, nor hand soap. The upstairs Master also gets really hot on summer nights even with the provided floor fan. Maybe a ceiling fan would be more comfortable? Wifi worked for e-mails but not for streaming shows at night on Netflix etc. even on a non-holiday Wednesday night (description says on busy holiday weekends it’s glitchy). We stayed 5 nights and every night it took about 20-40minutes to re-connect over and over until we got lucky the wifi connection lasted just long enough to download a show. Frustrating but not a huge deal. I booked through VRBO and was annoyed that I had to download another App through another management company to get the entry instructions vs them just emailing me. If you try to message the management company through VRBO- they don’t respond. So I had to download the App. Not a huge deal just annoying with the multi step process. Again, location is stellar and the community pool/spa was nice too.

Not satisfied with the unit for the price we paid

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this property: The unit needs a thorough remodel and an interior makeover. Please note that one of the beds is located in a den that is the size of the bed with no windows or doors. It’s basically hanging over the kitchen table area. Not sure if it’s permitted and built by the code. Overall, the townhouse feels and looks poor and needs major revamp.

Exactly what we needed

The property is nothing fancy, but it had everything we needed (cooking items/utensils, soap/shampoo, TV etc) and was walking distance to the village. We stayed for a snowboarding trip and while the space is not huge, it worked for us. I do think it could have been a little cleaner... we found some garbage and a dirty diaper under the couch that the cleaners must have missed.. but otherwise it was fine. We'd stay there again.

Reviewer Comments: We were extremely disappointed when we arrived to find no pool/hot tub (have been out of service for two years), the WiFi not working, and the cleanliness of the place not up to standard. We were supposed to stay for a week but ended up cutting our trip short. We felt the listing to be very misleading, especially since the title mentions a pool and hot tub that have been out of service for years. The location is great but besides that i would not recommend this rental.

SCAMMED

The day of our checkin I was contacted by Sarah from Ready 4 Rentals informing me that they made a mistake on the pricing and will be charging us an additional fee. I felt this was unfair that I had to pay for their mistake. I booked and paid for this VRBO a month prior based on it being slightly cheaper than other options available at that time. Sarah encouraged us to cancel the reservation hours before checkin. I had no choice but to pay the additional money she was demanding since we were already in route to the VBRO and we would not be able to find another place in time. We own and manage multiple vacation properties and would never treat our guests the way Sarah did. Not only was she being unreasonable with us but she was also doing the company a disservice by threatening to cancel our reservation a couple hours before checkin. This company is a scam and does not care about their customers! Additionally there was not any hand soap, shampoo/conditioner or body wash provided and only one tiny hand towel per guest.
