Thank you Roy
We are glad you enjoyed your two weeks.
We don’t actually find the stairs very steep, a little maybe as this is an old house compared with a new build. Can’t say that anyone else has mentioned this before. I will make sure that this is declared in the details so anyone with mobility issues are aware. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
We loved it all….the fireplace, the well equipped kitchen and attention to details( even when it came to bathroom supplies), the separated very comfortable sleep areas with en suites, the classy interior decorating and finishes, the location couldn’t be better, the friendly and warm reception and giving us loads of tips of the area,In other words …it could not have been more stunning and perfect. Thank you Glyn & John!

Thank you all for your amazing review. Glad that you enjoyed all. Love to host you again!
We had a wonderful stay at the property in Montsoreau. The house had been beautifully renovated with everything we needed for a relaxing week away. We particularly enjoyed the small courtyard garden, which was a little sanctuary in the providing a cool place to eat our meals surrounded by the lovely plants. Glynn was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcomed and also providing helpful local advice. Thank you for an enjoyable stay and we will definitely be back!
Beautiful house with all that you could possibly want on holiday. Perfect for our little dog. As the weather was not great the underfloor heating was a bonus. Would definitely book again. Fabulous area.

Thank you so much.
Glad that you enjoyed your stay.
The house was lovely. Everything we needed was there for us to enjoy our holidays.
After a long journey it was a welcoming and comfortable home from home
We were a group of four adults who would have been perfectly happy to spend a month at this wonderful property in Montsoreau. The house was spotless and the town the same way. We would be happy to return and highly recommend this property Jim

Thank you Jim & Joyce & friends for your great review. We hope that you will return another time.
We enjoy visiting this area in the late part of autumn. The rain or drizzle or cool days are offset by a wonderful wood-burning fireplace at night. You will enjoy the hospitality of your hosts as you cuddle inside a very beautiful home. We will return again.
A marvelous, totally restored Village house, well worthy of its four star accommodation rating from France hotel rating services. Wonderfully decorated, loved the towels, the bedding, the comfort, the coziness! The owner’s love of their property is obvious from the moment you open the door and explore this wonderful home!

Thank you so much for your fabulous review. We always very much appreciate them!
Sorry that we did not get to meet you.
My husband and I spent 6 days in Le Seize in late October/early November. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The village of Montsoreau is lovely and well equipped with stores and restaurants. Montsoreau’s location was perfect for day trips to various chateaux and wineries. Le Seize is an excellent home away from home- it is very cozy, quiet and comfortable. Glyn and John have thought of everything!

Thank you both for your review. It is always appreciated.
Have a happy Christmas and New Year.
Very clean and beautifully presented property. perfect location in a lovely village. only potential issue is leaving the car a few hundred metres from the house - although this proved to be OK.
If you are looking a spacious apartment in a quiet storybook village surrounded by art-filled Chateau, with a great patisserie, a thriving Sunday market, great restaurants and vineyards then this is the place for you. The white cliffs/caves and Loire river are also cool. Literally. Super nice and helpful owner.

Thank you for your great review. Sums it up very well! Hope to see you here another time.
We had a lovely 5 night stay here. The property is very clean and well presented with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely to find such a stylish property that allows dogs. We didn’t meet the owners as everything was provided. Plenty of free parking nearby so not a problem not being able to park at the property. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for your kind comments. We always appreciate them. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Sorry we did not get to meet you both and Barclay!
This was our third stay at Le Seize, which is a cosy, comfortable house & it was as good as we remembered.
Montsoreau is a lovely spot with an excellent market, butcher and boulangerie/patisserie. There are lots of chateaux, castles and towns within easy reach, or you can just enjoy the shaded courtyard.
We had no difficulty in parking our car in the car park by the chateau, a few minutes walk from the house and were able to stop briefly outside for unloading/loading.
Highly recommended!

We spent more than two weeks in Montsoreau. We had the pleasure to stay at Le Seize.
The property is very nice and located in a lovely village. The house comes with laundry facilities and a kitchen well equipped. The hosts, Glyn and John, are very helpful.
The property does not include parking, but we had no problem to find parking on the side streets. We hope to come back!
This house was perfect for 2 couples traveling together with both bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms. We loved the private outdoor patio/eating area with the glass doors opening off the kitchen. We cooked breakfast each morning and made some “French” dishes from produce & meats purchased from local markets. We loved this area of France with a great bakery in town and with many nearby beautiful villages, chateaus & castles. Glyn & John were the most helpful hosts, even making dinner suggestions and reservations for us. We would definitely stay here again if we return to this area.
Couldn’t fault anything about this beautiful little house and it’s setting in gorgeous Montsoreau. It was all we’d hoped for. Glyn and John couldn’t have been more helpful. I was slightly worried about parking before we came but in fact we found plenty nearby. It was lovely to be within walking distance of several bars and restaurants, but also to have everything we needed to cook at home and enjoy the lovely little walled patio.
Would definitely consider coming back.

Thank you so much for your lovely review.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed Montsoreau & Le Seize and all this part of France has to offer.
It was lovely to meet you both and your friends John & Max and we sincerely hope to see you here again one day.
Great house and location. Tight in the middle of a nice village in the Loire.
As per the title. The house is great. Feels really “solid” and tastefully decorated. B straightforward - no deposits or cleaning fees etc so really easy.
Reason for 4 stars was that during our stay, much of the village was closed due to long term road and (I think) drainage works. So our experience different from how it would be in the summer when they are finished.
But I’d definitely come again which is the main thing.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed the house and appreciate your comments. As for the current work that is underway in the village it is a bit unfortunate not to see how very pretty the village is. Although this is phase 3 and the majority of the village has been already finished and restored to its original glory. This is the last phase and we hope that it will be completed as scheduled before mid April.
We hope that you can make a return trip and see the village at its best one day.
What a wonderful time we had at le Seize! From the moment of booking, Glyn and John took excellent care of us. The house is utterly charming - situated in a beautiful village on the Loire with its very own impressive chateau. Every comfort is provided to create a cosy, clean and beautifully furnished space. The wood fire was wonderful!
Bedrooms and bathrooms have everything you'd wish for, and everything provided in the kitchen to make self-catering a breeze. The property has been renovated and decorated to a very high standard. Parking easily found in the street nearby.
We thoroughly recommend this property for an unbeatable base to explore the many marvels of this region. Thank you again to Glyn and John for such a perfect stay!

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we fully appreciate it!
We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay.
Hope to meet you if you return.
We loved our stay in Le Seize, Montsoreau. The house is lovely, lots of period detail, finished to a very high standard and really tastefully decorated. Well thought out, comfy beds, all mod cons. Glyn and John could not have been more helpful. Montsoreau is gorgeous, the Sunday market really bustling and great produce, good restaurants. We didn’t know the area but we fell in love with it and there’s masses to do and see. The kids loved the interactive iPads at Chinon castle which brought the place to life. But the highlight was a swim in the river near the stunning Chenonceau chateau. We’ll be back and wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Le Seize again

Thank you for your great review.
Sincerely glad you all had a good time and that you liked staying at Le Seize. Hope to see you again.
Thank the girls for their lovely written review in our Livre d'Or. Much appreciated.
On a quiet street minutes from the Loire with 2 village cafes, 6 restaurants, patisserie, etc. and the local chateau within a 10 minute walk. Village is a hidden gem itself close to much of interest yet not overrun (we spent 3 weeks in June).
Cottage ground floor has a spacious sitting/dinning room, a modern, compact, kitchen well equipped for short stays, with big pocket doors leading to a small walled terrace with dining and seating, herbs and flowers. Great place for morning coffee and aperitifs.
First and second floors each has a spacious and comfortable bedroom suite. It is a sympathetically restored and modernized cottage, tastefully decorated.
Easy parking 5 mins away at the Chateau lot along the river.
Delightful hosts. Highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Glyn Ward
Hi, we are John and Glyn, we have been living in France since 1999. We previously had a bed and breakfast and a holiday rental cottage just south of our new property which we successfully run for 12 years. Which earned us high ratings on TripAdvisor and Booking.
Why they chose this property
We wanted to move to a different area and find a smaller property, our previous one was huge! We were lucky to find the house in Montsoreau as it is a much sought after village. It needed a lot of work as everything needed attention. We are very pleased with the result, as it is absolutely charming and in a great location. It works very well for holiday makers, everything is on your doorstep. Great eating places and bars plus all commerce for general everyday living. You really don't need a car, its just perfect! We live 5kms away in Fontevraud l'Abbaye which is another lovely village and tourist destination. So we are on hand should our guests need us. We know the area very well and can offer good advice on places to visit, of which are many.
What makes this property unique
Located in the very charming village next to the river Loire. Walking distance to another charming village Candes - St - Martin. Lots to see and do. Restaurants and bars on the doorstep, plus a butchers, a bakers, a deli, a small supperet,(small super market) wine cave, wine shop, a spa, tennis courts. Seriously, no need for a car for that relaxing stress free vacation!
