About this property

Private pool, BBQ and wifi in a tradicional menorquian villa in Alaior

Son Magnà is an old country house located in the municipality of Alaior. It was built at the end of the 19th century and gradually refurbished from 2002.

Currently the house has 4 bedrooms: 1 double room with en suite bathroom, and two bedrooms with single twin beds which share another bathroom. There’s also another double room with en suite bathroom in an old refurbished barn next to the main house.

NOTE: Prices are set for 6 people. Please, if you are 8 people, ask for our rates.

There is an additional fourth complete bathroom outside, near the pool.

Son Magna is rented for stays of 32 days. Please, don't hesite to ask for other time periods of staying

The house, its pool, the patio or the BBQ are surrounded by nature, isolated from any noise or neighbouring houses, which makes the property perfect for those who are looking for peace, calm and privacy. However, the airport, Sant Clement, Alaior or even Mahón are only 20 minutes far away from the house by car.

A little piece of heaven on earth

A beautiful house with lots of space, fabulous pool, great pots and pans in the kitchen, quiet and peaceful. Tortoises roaming in the garden, incredible wildlife. By far one of my favourite holidays!

Quiet and peaceful property

Quiet and romantic location without neighbours. It is well maintained and very clean. We were six of us and nobody missed anything (enough dishes, chairs, towels....). We enjoyed the big pool with its clear water. The landlord was always reachable by phone and very helpful. To go shopping or to the sea a car is strongly recommanded. All financial transactions were done quickly and correctly. If we visit Menorca again, we'll come back.

Restful stay

We rented Miguel's place for three weeks - we know the island well and enjoy the area around Alaior. You definitely need a car for this property as it is very remote but with that comes peace, quiet and tranquility. The finca was extremely comfortable, well decorated, and equipped with books, CDs, bluetooth for the stereo system, a well equipped kitchen to cook in and an outdoor barbecue. The pool was the biggest highlight. Plenty of space for everyone. Anything needed is nearby in Alaior, and some of the islands best beaches a 15-25 minute drive away. There was a small hiccup with check in and arrival time, and we were slightly disappointed that there was no basics such as toilet paper, hand soap, olive oil or salt and pepper, or even a bit of charcoal for the barbecue but we settled in with everything needed after a big shop but little touches like that would have been a big help. Besides that everything was perfect and hope to come back next year.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in dieser charmanten Finca, die herrlich abgelegen aber trotzdem zentral auf der Insel gelegen ist. Es gibt alles was man braucht, gut ausgestattete Küche, schöner Essbereich und toller Außenbereich. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können die finca nur empfehlen, vor allem für Naturliebhaber, die gerne etwas abseits des „Stroms“ unterwegs sind.

Peaceful isolation

Two grandparents, daughter, son in law and 2 and half year old grandson spent a glorious week at Son Magna. Located in the rural heart of the island with no neighbours nearby, we all enjoyed the very special environment and wildlife. The pool area was the real gem for us and many hours everyday were spent developing our grandson’s swimming skills as he splashed around in the gorgeous pool. The villa has all that a family needs for a very comfortable stay.

The most relaxing spot

Such a beautiful and charming home that felt like staying with friends. The kitchen is so well-equipped for cooking and the location is very peaceful—the perfect quiet place to go if you want to cook wonderful meals, sit by the pool, and read with a glass of wine. We will come back!

Erholung pur!

Wir haben einen wunderbaren Urlaub in dieser pittoresken menorquinischen Finca verbracht. Die Finca ist umgeben von viel Natur. Ihre „Nachbarn“ sind ein paar Esel, Kühe, Schildkröten. Für Ausflüge an die Strände und in die Städtchen ist ein Mietauto aufgrund der abgeschiedenen Lage erforderlich. Ein perfekter Ort für Natur- und Tierliebhaber.

Un retour aux sources dans un cadre 100% minorquin

La maison de Miguel possède tous les attraits d’une maison familiale comme on l’imagine. Une invitation au souvenir dès que l’on passe la porte. Tout y a été pensé année après année pour que l’on s’y sente bien. Quant au cadre, on ne pourrait rêver mieux. La maison est littéralement au milieu des oliviers et des figuiers. Nos seuls voisins ? Quelques cochons et vaches très amicaux avec lesquels nous avons eu le plaisir d’écouter Maria Callas certains soirs (Miguel a aussi de très bons goûts musicaux dans ses CD ;) ). Allez chez Miguel, c’est se rappeler toute la beauté de la nature et tout particulièrement celle de Minorque. De nouveaux souvenirs sont repartis avec nous. Merci.

What a charming and peaceful place !

We had wonderful holidays at Miguel’s house ! It’s very calm, well furnished, and peaceful. The house is surrounded by a beautiful nature in the middle of the countryside. It’s big with a great outdoor area, lots of lands and cute farm animals. The pool is also a very great place to enjoy the day and beautiful sunsets. Miguel is a very great and careful host, always available, very organized and precise. You will need a car to get there and you will have to drive 20 minutes for the nearest beaches, towns and supermarkets. It’s absolutely worth it ! We had an amazing time. We’d love to come back soon. Traumhaftes Landhaus

Das Haus ist stilvoll mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Aufgrund der traditionellen Bauweise war es auch an heissen Tagen immer angenehm kühl im Haus. Es gibt auf dem Grundstück überall schöne Plätze und Sitzecken an denen man sich aufhalten kann. Am Pool kann man auch mal den ganzen Tag verbringen und für unsere Kinder gab es immer etwas Neues zu entdecken. Da das Haus mitten auf dem Land liegt ist ein Auto unabdingbar. Dafür hat man keine Nachbarn und absolute Ruhe und Entspannung ist garantiert. Der Kontakt zum Besitzer war sehr gut und alle Vertragsangelegenheiten liefen völlig unproblematisch und korrekt.

La propiedad es ideal para disfrutar de unos días de descanso lejos de todo bullicio. Un medio de transporte es necesario pero las distancias son cortas. La piscina es una gozada y la casa es espaciosa y cómoda. Es una gran opción para descansar y disfrutar de la isla teniendo esta casa como base.

Casa preciosa y auténtica con muchísimo estilo. Supera las expectativas. Lugar encantador, piscina nueva y todo muy bien conservado. Cada estancia de la casa tiene un fuerte carácter propio. Exteriores con un encanto insuperable. Sensación de estar invitado en una casa de revista. Equipamiento muy completo. Servicio total por parte del propietario. Relación calidad precio inmejorable. Our task has been to restaured it and bring it to life again. It's maintenance requires work and effort, but we're trying to improve it every single year.

What makes this property unique

Son Magnà is an ideal place for families or groups of friends. Since it's in the middle of the country, intimacy, peace and tranquility are what you can finde there. But if you want bars, discotheques or supermarkets, Son Magnà isn't the proper place for you.
