Beautiful location, lovely cottage, easy kitchen, comfy beds, space for three old ladies plus bathrooms, and sitting room, etc. plus beautiful garden, the old church next door, the village and the thatched roofs AND the lovely and friendly Swan Inn. What a glorious part of the country in and around Enford! Thank you, Mary and Simon.
3ladies who walk together every April decided to invite husbands along as cottage had 3 double rooms with Facilities. Good walks from cottage or a short distance by car. Cycle routes also good. Sunshine every dayShort break enjoyed by all.
Fantastic cottage! Immaculately clean, and perfectly comfortable for our family of 7. Mary was a wonderful host, available at a moment's notice if necessary, and extremely helpful with tips and information about the area. She was very pleasant, and we would stay here again if we find ourselves in the area.
We LOVED staying at Enford Cottage. It was exactly as pictured, with extra touches from Mary & Simon. The yard, gardens were spectacular! Mary was the perfect host. Helping us with restaurants, drives, information about surrounding areas. We weren’t ready to leave! We hope to be back.
The cottage had everything we needed. Our children enjoyed playing with the friendly and very well-behaved dog, Lola and the trampoline situated in the owners' garden.
Mary and Simon were lovely hosts and gave us many ideas what to visit and where to go to.
The cottage is close to Stonehenge and Salisbury. We had a wonderful time there and also visited Avebury, where you can find another "Stonehenge" and you are able to walk in between the stone circles (not like Stonehenge which is full of people).
Comfortable cottage for a group of three couples, with plenty of space. Three good sized bedrooms with ensuites, though one only has a hand held shower. The kitchen was well equipped, including a good steamer pan, and there was plenty of crockery and glasses, and a good sized dining table. The local pub, the Swan, is only a short walk away and serves good food. Room to park three cars either in the cottage grounds or the church carpark next door. Host was easy to contact and very helpful.

Lovely and well equipped cottage! Will definitely recommend!
We stayed for two weeks and the time ran so quickly. We enjoyed the cottage very much.
In the second week the warm water stopped working, but Mary was very keen fixing it as soon as possible. This is one of those occasions where one can see how the owner really reacts to problems, and in this case the reaction was very positive.
All in all a definite recommendation!

Thanks Stefan - glad you had enjoyed the cottage and the pressure issue on the boiler is all fixed now! Mary
This was a wonderful experience with Mary. Very helpful with information when I needed it to help me with preparing our visit to England. The house had some great little extras to help with birthday. Extra adapters biscuits and milk. It’s the little touches that means so much to a traveler. I’m just a little upset that I didn’t get a chance to meet Mary and talk with her but I will be back in March and looking to stay there again.

Very nearly a week away from it all
The cottage is lovely, it is cosy and really well equipped and furnished. The garden is fab and was fully secure for our dogs. Not five stars because it is attached and, whilst I knew that and thought it would be OK based on other reviews, we wanted a week away from people and noise and at times it was just not peaceful enough for us. The owners are very discrete and we hardly saw them but there were a lot of people coming and going (cars, cleaners, gardeners, deliveries and cold callers to us when the owners were out) and we could hear the owners moving around their own house, particularly in the mornings and evenings. The road is also very close and again, at times, quite noisy. It didn't spoil it and it was a risk we took because the cottage was otherwise perfect for our needs. Two other small things that might make the stay more comfortable - we had unseasonably good weather and would have liked to sit out in the garden on comfortable chairs and a stairgate to stop the dogs from going upstairs - we achieved it but needed to build a barricade each time we left them in the day. At night we put them in the utility but not nice to be shut up in such a small space in the day too.

Glad you liked the cottage and the garden. We do provide a stairgate and it is stored in the cupboard in the main bedroom, sorry you did not find it – we could have directed you to it if asked.
As you know it’s a large garden and does require help to maintain so apologies if the gardeners disturbed you at all on the 2 days they were there. As our cars were parked in the church carpark next door, as we usually do, I am not sure what other comings and goings there were while we were at work but the postman does need to deliver occassionally!
Thank you for the tip on cushions for the outside benches – we will look into it
Alles vorhanden, was man so braucht. Gute Lage zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten der Umgebung (Stonehenge usw.). Netter Dorf Pub.
From the amazing welcome from Simon, to Mary’ s suggestions for things to do in the area - a wonderful stay.
Very comfortable beds, lots of hot water and immaculate accommodation.
We’ll be back!
This is a fantastic property, beautifully maintained and with lots of facilities. Our host was incredibly kind, generous (bourbon biscuits and help ourselves to surplus produce from the garden) and hospitable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Beautiful property in the countryside near Stonehenge
We had a great stay in the cottage. The grounds are quiet and picturesque, and we were able to keep the rooms cool with fans despite the heat wave. Convenient location for exploring the local area, including Stonehenge and Bath.
Mary and her family were amazing hosts, Enford cottage was fabulous and had everything we needed including a great games room for the kids. Enford is tiny but so pretty, we had a few lovely days visiting Devizes, Avebury, Salisbury and couldn’t have asked for anything more. I highly recommend Enford house cottages for a visit.
We stayed in this cottage with family for a long weekend break and it was ideal! Just as described in the advert and fulfilled our requirements completely, from its beautiful surroundings to its warm and cosy interior, it could not have been more perfect.
We had good communication with the owner prior to our trip and she also greeted us on our arrival - very friendly and helpful.
We had such a relaxing and special time away, we really hope to return again in the future.
Thank you

About the host
Hosted by Mary Campbell
Simon and Mary Campbell, who own Enford House Cottage, live in the main house next door. The picture shows the main part of the house in which they live. The cottage and main house have separate entrances although the 2 houses are attached at the back.
Why they chose this property
My husbands parents bought the property when he was a baby and he grew up here and inherited it in 2005. His grandmother used to live in the cottage
What makes this property unique
With the thatched walled garden and special door in the wall to take you through to the churchyard Enford is a very special place. The cottage has a lovely feeling about it and everyone comments on how comfortable the beds are!
