This luxurious 2 bedroom apartment is located in the popular seaside resort of Anzio, Rome, Italy. The spacious living area includes a large comfortable lounge with TV.
Two bedrooms that offer spectacular sea views, two bathroom and a kitchen.
Two balconies perfect for al fresco dining on the warm Italian evenings!
Anzio itself is packed with great restaurants, bars and Pubs as well as plenty of shops and places of historical interest.
Lift and steps lead directly from the apartment to the main beach, very safe and sandy.
The accommodation consists of: 1 Sitting room with TV, DVD, RADIO, INTERNET
1 Bedroom with twin beds.
1 bedroom with kingsize bed.
2 Bathrooms, 1 with bath and 1 with walk in shower.
Modern kitchen with large fridge freezer, washing machine and all cooking equipment.
Large entrance. Two balconies one facing sea. Parking facility.
Blackout shutters on all windows just perfect for a good night's sleep.

The Anzio Apartment is fully furnished with all reasonable utensils.
Towels and linen are provided, NOT TOWELS FOR THE BEACH.
There is also the added security of a caretaker.
The Residents-only lift gives easy access to the garden with steps to the beach.
Located in the centre between Anzio and Nettuno, our apartment offers the perfect setting for exploring Rome and Lazio. The apartment itself faces the Mediterranean sea, making it a perfect setting for outdoor activities like walking and swimming.
There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy water sports including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing.
Opposite the apartment there is an incredible gelateria, bar and a restaurant specialising in burgers and fries.

The towns of Anzio and Nettuno are within easy reach and are great for shopping and museums, art galleries and other attractions.
Rome is only a short train journey away. There are trains every hour at 3.50 Euros per person or a day return including all busses and Metro in Rome for 9 Euros.

Along the coast there are numerous remains of Roman villas.
The Domus Neroniana, has been identified as a residence of Nero he was born in Anzio......

There is also the Anzio Beachhead British Military Cemetery and a Beachhead Museum. The Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial is in nearby Nettuno.

About 8 km north of the town there is a WWF park with sulphur springs and a medieval tower, Tor Caldara.

All along the coast a large number of beaches and sea resorts can be found, including hotels and the famous fish restaurants of the port of Anzio.
A Casino was built 100 years ago, but was never allowed to open as judged too near Rome and is now waiting to be restored.
In the southern part of the town, close to the border with Nettuno, are many Italian art nouveau style houses.

In the Middle Ages Antium was deserted in favour of Nettuno: at the end of the 17th century Pope Innocent XII and Clement XI restored the harbour, not on the old site but to the east of it, with the opening to the east, a mistake which leads to its being frequently silted up; it has a depth of about 5 m.
The Volscian city stood on higher ground and somewhat away from the shore, though it extended down to it. This was defended by a deep ditch, which can still be traced, and by walls, a portion of which, on the eastern side, constructed of rectangular blocks of tufa, was brought to light in 1897.


GENERAL CONDITION

We are entitled to refuse admittance to the persons exceeding the number of guests mentioned at the reservation. Nobody else is admitted to stay in our apartment.

EQUIPMENT OF THE PROPERTIES
Linen and towels are professionally laundered at high temperature.
The apartment is equipped with the basic kitchen utensils and crockery for the designated number of persons, refrigerator and gas hob, washing machine, TV, DVD, hair dryer and Internet if needed.

CLEANING POLICY
On arrival you will find the apartment clean and tidy. Final cleaning charges are not included in the total price. We charge Euro 60,00 cash for 2 guests plus Euro 20,00 for each guest exceeding the second. For rentals of more than 7 nights we charge in addition Euro 20,00 for each guest on a weekly basis for linen change if requested.


RULES FOR CLIENTS
The apartment can only be used for temporary and tourist household needs.
You cannot make the apartment your new place of residence or choose it as your permanent residence. It is furthermore not allowed to sublet the apartment, or parts of it, to third parties.
The said premises or any part thereof shall not be used for any purposes other than as residential accommodation.
All building rules and regulations must be observed. Between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. apartment occupiers shall not make any loud noises.
Animals are not admitted.

Fabulous location.

The apartment is very spacious with a balcony showcasing beautiful views of the sea. We were able to make it our home away from home for a one month stay in Anzio. The location is perfect for easy walks to the restaurants, cafes, & shops in town, walks on the beach, or to the train station for quick (1 hr. 6 min.) day trips into Rome. Clara Censon was a great host, extremely helpful, quick to respond to any questions and provided many good restaurant recommendations. Our only negative comment, which we hope is constructive, is that the general fit and finish, furniture and furnishings of the apartment are showing their age with excessive wear and tear. Some replacements of furniture, linens, towels, curtains, and kitchen supplies would be a good investment and make this a top-notch 5-star property. On a final note, did we mention that there is a cafe, restaurant and gelateria just across the street about one minute away! All in all a wonderful visit to Anzio.

Meerblick mit hohen Räumen und geschmackvoll eingerichtet

Wir haben 6 Tage in Claras Wohnung verbracht und haben es sehr genossen. Die Lage und der Blick aufs Meer waren wunderbar. Besonders schön fanden wir die Einrichtung mit vielen Antikmöbeln und Postern in vergangener Kunstausstellungen. Alles passte gut zu den alten Räumen mit hohen Decken, dem antiken Fahrstuhl und Altbauambiente. Wer moderne, kahle Kunstoffmöbel, parkett und moderne Küchen mag, wäre hier falsch. Die Küche ist trotz Alter super ausgestattet, passend zum antiken Charme mit einer sehr speziellen alten (extrem flachen) Spüle, alten Schränken und einem großen Gasherd. Der Herd ist jedoch modern und sicherlich für ambitionierte Köche geeignet. Zumindest scheint Clara vielseitig zu kochen. Das nächste Mal Anzio werden wir schauen, ob Claras Wohnung frei ist ;-)

Die Wohnung ist sehr groß und wunderbar ausgestattet. Vom Wohnzimmer und einem Schlafzimmer gelangt man auf den Balkon, von dem man einen herrlichen Blick auf das Mittelmeer hat. Die Lage ist optimal. In 2 Minuten ist man am Strand und in 7 min zu Fuß im Zentrum von Anzio. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin ist sehr nett. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Der Empfang durch Signore Renato war sehr herzlich und seine Emfpfehlungen waren sehr hilfreich. Mille grazie. Die Wohnung bietet allen Komfort, den man für einen Urlaubsaufenthalt braucht .Mit ihren hohen Wänden, den schönen alten Steinböden und der passenden Einrichtung, spürt man, dass diese Wohnung eine `Seele` hat, in der man sich sofort wohl fühlt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

This apartment lived up to all our expectations: Spacious for a family of five, and situated perfectly by a beautiful beach line. The centre of charming Anzio is only a short walk away, and the trains to Rome run frequently during the day. We will highly recommend a stay here.

Anzio the gem

Anzio is truly a hidden gem of a resort. This is topped off by the quaint charm of this flat, situated in a quaint fifties style block that matches the style of Anzio is a 3 bedroom/optional 4 with the sofa bed with possibly the best sea view a place can have. Sitting on the balcony with widescreen view of the sea & beach listening to the waves made this possibly the most relaxing holiday in a long time, which goes with the chilled out vibe of Anzio itself. Nice size bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, clean & a minute from the beach. What more do you want? We will be returning!

We found the apartment OK, but not cleaned.

We found the apartment rather dirty. The floors where not cleaned and the bed quilts where dirty. It would have been OK with quilt covers instead of ordinary sheets. We had been promised a child bed for our two year old grandchild, but instead we only got an ordninary extra bed, which we could not use. The information about markets in Anzio and Nettuno where not correct. We would have appreciated if the heat had been turned on before we arrived. It was rather cold in the apartment. We would also have apprecxiated if there had been more information about Anzio, like a map of the town, since we could not find a Tourist Office.

Beautiful apartment

The apartment is well situated in Anzio. Close to the beach and within 15 mins walk to local shops. The apartment is vey well equipped but could do with a microwave and an electric kettle. Beautiful furniture, very shabby chic. Gorgeous view of the beach from the balcony. One negative point was that we found it very difficult to get a taxi to drive us to local destinations i.e. Nentuno. Clara was very helpful with all aspects of our trip. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Anzio. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Lovely relaxing stay.

This is a great apartment and location. We wanted somewhere that was very close to the beach to satisfy our children, aged 9 and 5, but close to some amenities and with Rome easily accessible by train. This fulfilled all of those! The beach is fantastic, 1 minute to get to from the apartment, and perfect for playing games in the sea and swimming. It was also practically deserted during the week, although busier at the weekend, as it is not yet high season. The caretaker of the building, Renato, is extremely helpful and sorted out anything that was needed very quickly. It's helpful to have some Italian as his English is fairly basic. The apartment is very well set out, it was clean and plenty of towels were provided. There are things for the beach such as body boards and buckets and spades/balls, plus there is a really good selection of books for the adults and DVD's for the adults and the kids. We really enjoyed our daily gelati at the gelateria just down the road on the way into the centre of town and we also enjoyed pizza and pasta at the pizzeria just beyond. We had a wonderful week here, thank you Clara!

Wonderful appartment. Great location

As mentioned above; the appartment is wonderful. It can easily "fit" a family of five persons. Nice to have two bathrooms... The kitchen was well equipped. The view from ´the balcony is stunning....We had - yet another - great week in this place, and we will definately be back.

A Great Combination

A really lovely apartment overlooking the sea but just a ten-minute walk from the railway station and the hour's ride into central Rome. The living space is very generous and light and it's a nice walk into the town and harbour area, with its shops, bars, restaurants and, of course, gelateria. The gelateria that is almost opposite the property had queues of 40+ people even at midnight and my daughters agree with the property owner that it must be the best in Italy. The flat was clean and tidy but it would have been a nice touch to have maybe some bread, milk and cheese to welcome us as we arrived quite late. Also a little more guidance to locating the markets in Anzio and Nettuno would have been useful, even if exploring and finding things out for oneself is all part of the adventure. We couldn't find a kettle but it was no hardship using a small pan to boil water for tea and coffee. All very minor notes and should not deter anyone. The beach is great and, being so shallow, fantastic for children or those who aren't strong swimmers (or too keen on swimming in the sea). A pair of beds + umbrella will set you back 22 Euros for the day, so sunworshippers take note. However, a 5-minute walk towards Nettuno you will find a free beach with no beds - you choose. So all-in-all a great place to spend some time in the sun. We were only there for a week and we all wished we had booked for two. Clara the owner is very helpful and pleasant to deal with and obviously is rightly fond and proud of her Italian bolt hole. Highly recommended. Thank you!

I was born in Rome and Anzio was our summer residence when Rome was too hot. Our daughter lives in the centre of Rome, our sons are in England they all love to come to Anzio as often as possible and spend the summer holiday on the beach with all the same families and friends from Rome.
We have a daughter, two sons and 8 grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

My father bought the apartments in 1953 when it was built after the war.
We are very lucky to have it still, for all of us to enjoy it and give a chance to the new generation to appreciate the Italian lifestyle; good food, good family time, hot summers and lovely weather through the year.

The beach below the building reached by our private lift and stairs.
A beach that is cared for by attendants with umbrellas and comfortable chairs from June to the middle of September.
The luxury of a caretaker that looks after the property the whole year.
The friendly Italian holiday feeling that can be enjoyed by all.
Anzio is perfect all the year as the weather is always sunny and it offers the chance to explore the region by regular COTRAL busses or trains.
