Great place! Fits large groups! Feels a bit old and not 100% clean but honestly still gives you a warm home away from home feeling. Our group of 12 adults and 10 kids all under 3 had a blast!
The house was very spacious for the amount of people we had. Plenty of room and beds for everyone! There were 16 of us that stayed and we were not crowded. The house sits on the intercoastal waterway so it was great for fishing, kids loved it! A short walk to the beach. The road the house sits on is directly across from a public beach access. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. Plenty of space outside to hang out, cook, play in the yard. We had a great time and will definitely be back!!
We absolutely enjoyed the house inside and out. The location was perfect even on this busy Memorial weekend, it was a short walk to the beach. The dock on the back was great since my family enjoys fishing, we fished from the dock and also were able to use our kayaks whenever we wanted to. The kids enjoyed doing the puzzles provided in the house, we absolutely loved the house. The layout is spacious, the house just needs a few updates but definitely had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We will definitely be booking this house for our future beach vacation.

Hi Gladys - we are so thrilled that your Memorial weekend at Marlin Canal was so enjoyable. This home is made for family time - room for all! We will definitely be waiting to hear from you to help you book again and again! PROACTIVE Vacations
Home was a perfect location for our multi aged large family. The canal allowed the kids to fish and the beach access was ver close. The kitchen was well stocked w needed pots and pans, etc. Most beds however were not made and the linens were not able to be found within the home. Made for rough sleeping arrangements.

Thank you so much for your review. We're so glad to hear the home was a great fit for your multi-generational family and that you enjoyed the location, canal access, and well-equipped kitchen.
We sincerely apologize that the beds were not made and linens were missing — that absolutely should have been prepared before your arrival. We understand how frustrating that must have been, especially after a day of travel, and we’ve followed up with our housekeeping team to prevent this from happening again.
We truly appreciate you bringing it to our attention and hope despite this issue, your family was still able to enjoy a memorable stay.
Her Choice should be "Your Choice" for your next vacation
We were a large family of 13 and the house fit our needs perfectly. The set up of the beds was perfect for children and adults. Our only mild complaint was that the refrigerator needs some repair (broken shelves). This was our first experience with Proactive and they were EXCELLENT. I have never had better customer service with a property management company. Thank you for a great vacation.
Her Choice was perfect for our family of eleven. Large pantry, well-equipped kitchen with appropriately sized-pots and pans. Spacious indoor and outdoor living areas.
The location was good.just walk out to the back yard and there's the fishing for the men.lots of blue crab in that canal.fish was nice size. The house was great lots of space for a huge family to spread out in.and it felt like home. Problem I had was it was through a realty company.and u had to bring your own towels and rags and hand towels. And we were all scared to even use the sheets or covers for fear of getting a charge added to credit card if anything happened stain wise!! We had teens and girls so u can't predict what could happen there.and so many DOS and donts and if u didn't u get charged to.not to mention all the fees that added up already before staying.next time I know better than to go through vrbo listing that deals with a realty company.theres over 600 in fees I paid.and main fee was cleaning fee.yet u couldn't really use anything that warranted having a cleaning fee for
We had an amazing week staying at Her Choice. Just a quick walk to the beach made for very happy kids. Had a great deck to sit and drink your coffee in the morning or eat a meal.
What a great house! We had never stayed in the canal before and we are hooked. The house was clean and spacious and functioned well. I loved having things like paper products and soap and a griddle and spices and Keurig, etc. Made it feel like a home. Wrap around porch was lovely. Really enjoyed the covered back porch. We Ate out there every day. Walk to the beach was short. New flooring and renovated bathroom are lovely. And best outdoor shower we’ve had in a long time!
Suggestions: wine glasses! And upstairs shared bathroom needs a towel rack. We will for sure be back!
This was a decent home to vacation in for a few days. It’s my understanding that this house was about to go thru a few renovations which would help update the older home. We enjoyed our stay and I believe you will too if you choose to rent this property.

Hi Aaron, thanks for taking the time to review "Marlin Canal" and you are correct, there were some renovations happening. It is also a great, affordable stay for a large family gathering with a wonderful canal location. Hope you get to come back next year or sooner. The PROACTIVE Vacations Team.

Had a nice time.
The island was beautiful and a perfectly quiet laid back place for adults to enjoy vacation. Awesome food and atmosphere at the restaurant we went out to the 1 night but we planned on eating in most nights because we fish and the fishing was also very good. Honest review of the property itself, the house was very clean yet dated and repairs should be done. We cooked in all but 1 night eating our fresh seafood that we caught. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware, however molded coffee grounds were in the coffee maker our 1st morning and the date of the previsit inspection was the day prior to our arrival time and we couldn't even check in until 4 pm. I am recovering from a severe automobile accident and we chose this house so that I could safely enjoy our stay. Boarding our boat for the only time this year along with being our only vacation, the boat dock was awesome but an electrical outlet to charge vessel batteries would have been nice. We brought an extension cord but it wouldn't reach the back of the house. Linens weren't provided on our 1st night but promptly delivered the next day (thanks for not interrupting our day on the boat) so we had to sleep on top of the bed spreads. There was a huge hole in the 1st floor bathroom ceiling due to an A/C overflow leak possibly that we didn't know about. Hot water didn't work in one of the 2nd floor bathrooms. Furniture was worn and couch had tears. Satellite television was in all rooms but the 1st floor bedroom but did have a digital antenna which is where I had to sleep because of recovering from my injury. Circuit breakers blew easily but we found the fuse box and reset them as needed even though there were only 3 tenants staying. Some appliances didn't work, there were notes placed on them but still didn't work. Mainly, the cargo lift was inoperable so all luggage, groceries and boating supplies had to be carried up and down stairs just to get into the house which had the sleeping capacity of 16 people. The little personalized vacation home touches in decorating left us with a lived in appeal which was pleasant for our stay.

Needs alot of work. Not as advertised
We got a call on the way down to let us know that they knew that 1/3 of the ceiling in the bathroom was missing. Elevator? Controls for it locked in the homeowner storage. No way to run it even just to get the luggage upstairs? No lights on the back of the house at the boat dock? Sign on refrigerator "DO NOT TURN ON ICE MAKER". Turned on a floor lamp in the living room it shot one of the bulbs across the room and tripped the breaker? No parking? If it wasn't for the vacant field next door we would have been in trouble? Grill? The legs were gone and it was mounted on a PVC Plastic Table? I'd rather know I needed to bring a grill. The house wasn't terrible but it really needs attention before you lease it out in this condition.
